Preface: this is a big change. Yes, the way you play now is, as it relates to things touched by these changes and to varying degrees, no longer going to be viable. If that wasn't the case, these changes wouldn't be worth making in the first place.

Can CCP just give a clear yes/no on whether or not eviscerating the Black Ops fleet doctrine is intended? I've trained 3 accounts specifically to support running and doing the logistics for these fleets.

I don't want to waste my time/breath if the black ops drop is being mechanically removed from the game.

Suggestion:

- Capital ships jump ranges don't change, the way beacons work does instead.
- when I first light a Cyno, only ships within 1ly can reach me
- After a minute, ships within 2ly can reach me, after 5 minutes, people 5ly away can lock onto my beacon

This would mean that (under the current workings)
- A fleet can't drop from max-range and land ontop of a hostile group, because their beacon would have to be up and online for over 5 minutes before the capital ships can lock onto it
- The Further you want to go, the longer and longer it takes for the cyno beacon to work
- Beacons become a viable target, you can't as easily light it with a 1m SP frigate alt, because someone could gank him before the beacon is 'bright enough'
- Everything still makes sense, massive compilcated background maths of people determinng cooldown/fatigue and dying because they mis-calculated a jump and can't leave

remember, if you don't like the null sec changes, why not try wormholes Smile

Currently i have to jump 80 light years to low and back to nullsec.

So after the Patch i need 9 Cyno Chars for all systems?

Seriously that kills eve for me, if this comes to Tranquilty i will quit eve.

This is stupid ****, dont **** up the EVE Community CCP.

Or... you know... use gates and actually put your capital at risk...

Which is exactly what all you nullbears was telling us wormholers hahahahahaha Lol

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

I facepalmed consistently while reading this entire thing. So instead of making it rather difficult to respond should space come under attack by foreign forces, you make it take literally hours.

Currently, YA0 to F2O is 57ly, according to dotlan. This route would take... hours.

Also don't just say it like "poof jump fatigue exists now" make some bullshit but thought out excuse like "the wormhole generated by Jump Drives has become less stable as of late, due to heavy previous use"

or some bullshit like that.

This got saved as a draft, and I meant to post it like an hour ago. Since then, I have done some thinking and came up with the idea of:

"Safe" Jumping - your new system, minus taking hours to get places (nerf, but not a catastrophic nerf)
"Dangerous" Jumping - ignore the safety protocols on your jump drive (while still taking longer, mind you) but jump anyway after a moderate delay, with the risk of heavily damaging your ship in ways that cannot be repaired via RR easily.

Example:

Screw it, I wanna go from Tasiy to the ass end of Delve!

Distance: 57.372LY
Jumps: 4
Topes: 50k (with JFC4)

The first jump is free of any negative effects because it is a "safe" jump under your new rules.
The second jump is a 3/10 on the "danger" scale, capacitor regen is reduced by a certain %, making the next jump take even longer.
The third jump is a 7/10 on the scale, your capacitor regen is reduced by over half, you become unable to be remote assisted, all HP on the ship is lowered by a certain %

The fourth jump is a catastrophic strain on your jump drive, disabling it entirely for up to X amount of time, the scale is at 10/10, your capacitor regeneration is almost nothing, you cannot be remote repped, your guns/drones underperform, your scan resolution is dampened, your ship HP has been damaged to a near critical degree from the jump drive's meltdown, and you are unable to move, as your propulsion systems have long shut down to provide energy to the Jump Drive.

There is no fifth jump, not until the damage from the first 4 has cooled down to a minimum, and your ship can sustain another pull.

Why? When a capital ship jumps, it creates a small wormhole and squeezes itself through, same as jump portals and stargates. But as of late, the heavy uses of the first two examples have put a strain on the fabric of EVE, thus creating the "safe" jump guidelines.

CCP, this game is about Risk V. Reward, with your current proposed system, there is no risk and there is no reward. What I have outlined is a significant amount of risk, but with the reward of getting to the system in mind a fair bit quicker, but not without its own consequences. This suggestion is EVE-esque, and affects coalitions alike.

Also, your nerf to medical clones has the massive consequence of further stagnating null recruitment by not letting new recruits deathclone to the "home space" this is a terrible idea.

EDIT: someone just pointed out the fact that I didn't address the jump range nerf, and it would be more like 12 midpoints to do this. So don't nerf jump ranges, if you pay heed to my suggestion at all.

retardation at his best here ... really low sec doomsday? so messing with lowsec to help 0.0retards?

or you could just :

Reduce titan bridge range
Reduce numbers /mass of ships per bridge....
Titan bridge only if titan more than 50km from station/stargate/Pos...
And for null sec make stations destructible !!! and make dynamic stellar systems ( the star would eventually die someday) and the planets /moons with it.
( you solve 2 problems at once , moon goo dispersion, and renting.

The problems in low sec are mostly the guns on stargates /stations ( i get it for stations but why guns on stargate?

Make FW missions /anomalies only doable in cruisers+size ships and for fw plexes ... remove novices and small plex and let only cruiser size and BC size and BS+ size plex.

And most important thing Reduce or remove titan bridge in low sec (departure and arrival)

But please not this !! you will only allow nullsec blocks to come in lowsec with 5 titans and rollover the place

CCP it's time to remove Off Grid Boost and Put Them on Killmail too, add Logi on killmails .... Open that damn door !!

you shall all bow and pray BoB

I'm sorry, are you actually trying to kill EVE? I rather thought you would have a vested interest in not doing that, but maybe I'm mistaken. How about actually balancing carriers instead? Nobody has an issue with dreads, the problem is carriers, not jump drives.

EDIT: On reflection I'm mainly upset about the medical clone change. New Eden will probably survive the jump drive change... more or less.

So you want to move that dread, but worried about being tackled by a frigate, have friends escort you, not difficult eve is risky, you can avoid that risk by simply waiting out your timer, point is you have a choice.

Stupid changes, and all because of stupid people. You could be using the range you have now to hunt the big bad nullsec entities, but instead you want it handed to you.

I feel the strategic value with these changes are immense! I can see regional and even constellation officers and squads being implemented, having a small group of capitals on reserve to defend each region or constellation. Placement of capitals will be incredibly important, giving spies, commanders, and strategic leaders even more worth. nerfing sov structure hp will also incite smaller fleets, which I believe will increase the usage of dreadnaughts, while somewhat reducing risk. CCP is handing the capital warfare back to the individual corporations, and giving the leadership and strategy to the alliance as a whole. smaller alliances will be able to effectively hold a small constellation until blobs can finally relocate and defend. but cyno jammers are going to be entirely useless. maybe they should jam an entire constellation? oh, and now recruiting nidhoggur pilots! I will start leading nano-niddy roams!

Anybody who lives far from NPC space is basically untouchable now. We can hole up in Branch and nobody could touch us.

And for those who are uninformed, the reason that the null sec groups are 'crying' is because they understand null sec. I know it's hard to understand when you live in high sec, but using jump bridges and capitals are daily living up here. Hell, I traveled 30 LY just today via jump bridge, and that was just to pick up a single module. Without this, we're back to the days of daily freighter runs, which are boring as hell.

And if you want a fight? Good ******* luck. And eve without fights is a dead eve.

That cannot be it. When wormholes inhabitants were 'crying' they were called dirty carebears and to adapt sooo...

Adapt Lol

On more serious note, when anyone talks about fixing null and low very often force projecton comes to mind. It is brave change and I hope it will work.

for all the players that have invested so much time, isk, and money into eve for so many years this is a slap in the face! 5ly with that add the cool down and that other dumb thing. how about u just get rid of jump drives and call it a day. oo and btw death cloning meah nerf that too.

i thought ccp was over this lets do this half ass thing and and the 4th guy on page 3 will love it. the backlash from this will be worst than incarna. or that internal letter leak. this will destroy eve.

1. titan pilots unsub
2. super pilots unsub
3. half of 0.0 unsubs
4.eve looses about 25% of its monthly income
5. eve instead of loosing Devs to other companys in droves starts having to lay people off
6. they try to fix massive screw up with some sort of buff.
7. doesnt hack it game dies.

i have been a player for 9 years and if this goes through i wont be the only one leaving.
