Had to run the repair utility 4 times but it finally unborked the Eve client and I'm now in. Whoop!

Well, it seem they finally did it: my launcher cannot deal with today patch. Repair doesn't help, apparently due to "PackageUnavailableError: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/611682/RepairData_611682.dat".

Well, I didn't want to play anyway :)

seems after 10 times closing the launcher and retrying did something im inn.

Funny thing is I run repair.exe several time and every time it failed. I started launcher few times between repair attempts and every time I had to kill it because it was hanging either at "Initializing" or at 50% of downloading patch. And now apparently it was able to download and update everything within few seconds. Go figure.

Eve is game for patient and tenacious people, no instant gratification :)

From reading in a couple of different threads - it appears that one of CCP's data servers is sending out random corrupt data or randomly withholding data. So you keep running patches until you luck out getting installed.

1+ hour here trying to patch - no luck. With 2 clients to "patch" I guess I'll be here half a day.

Nothing like complicating an interface needlessly to run your customers off.

Still have zero problem with the launcher people using windows xp on a fat32 drive this give indeed problems. Go pick a new OS windows vista or windows 7 don't care about the 32bit or 64bit version. Don't use windows 8 this is not a stable OS so far.

Today my launcher was stuck at updating or installing or something. Turns out that eve.exe which, presumably, is the launcher for the launcher of the actual game, was launching an older version of the launcher. in my EVE\launcher\appdata folder I had two launcher folders with different version numbers. I had to start the launcher.exe in the newer version folder, and let it validate. Only then would the launcher launch the game.

True story.

True story.

It crashed on exit though, and is now throwing an exception when I try to launch the launcher. Happy days.

Possible fix for this problem:
1. Launcher won't start download.
2. When entering password and clicking enter, the launch button greys out.

I had more than one launcher instance in my task manager, I think I clicked it too many times. Manually shut down both instances and started launcher again, at which point the problem was resolved.

I have been having problems with launcher just crashing straight from the start lately... I am running WIN8 now and this is getting on my nerves.

Most likely my problems are because my HDD that has Eve files has been a bit funky, but still... SO if I get some problems by the launcher not starting at all the game itself or anything else, I use repair and it does nothing. It takes like 3 seconds and nothing happens...

When that happens I just remove launcher folder from the eve folder and run repair, it has been helping so far Ugh

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to cdn1.eveonline.com

even from the other sites i see posted.

Getting the same error, launcher doesn't update itself, I've tried to run eve.exe from the bin folder but get an error while trying to update the client (6MB download), repair fails and now I haven't been able to log into the game for a few days, and I can't even uninstall and re-install since I can't download it again ! Ugh

There was an unexpected error while retrieving update status:

Unable to download file /590158/evepremiumpatch590158.exe from the server.
Error: [Errno socket error] [Errno 10060] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond: 'connect operation system fail'

This is what i get when I run the eve.exe from bin folder, and get prompted to update. Press yes and get this, any ideas?

Dear CCP,

If you are going to make me install and use a launcher which adds steps to logging in and uses up resources and makes mutiple accounts a pain in the ass to use, could you PLEASE

PLEASE

PLEASE make sure it auto-detects a patch, rather than sits there doing nothing during downtime and then lets me log in and the client goes, 'oh there's a patch, derp' and then i have to restart the launcher and wait for the patch.

launcher doesnt work well its opening but not says "client ready" on the bottom one .. its stay like that ... and not loading well too half of the luncher background stay gray

even ı start the game wiht "evefile.exe" its working slowly and after entering the game ı m getting

"Socket Closed" error after like 1-2 min every time ...

this problem started lastnight... was ok last 2-3 year.. ı didnt change anythink on my pc lately .. ı have 2 pc both have the same problem... my both account same problem

ı tryed re-install the game ... no help

rest my modem .. no help

repair tool .. no help

ı m living in Turkey using TTNET for ISP but my all internet connection works fine only EVE doesnt work :(

So went to play today, and I get this message after logging in and hitting "Play" in the launcher:

"The authentication token provided by the launcher is of an invalid format. Please try again or contact EVE customer support."

Any ideas?

Yeah I dunno, since this latest round of updates nothing works for me. repair.exe just gives some database error, it said it logged it somewhere in my Temp folder but when I looked there it was empty. Gave up after 3 tries - seems to be no download resume or partial download support - just some crummy HTTP GET.

Removed and deleted all traces of the client, downloaded the latest one and reinstalled - same ****, Launcher update doesn't work properly, repair.exe doesn't do anything.

Logged a bug with CCP, but probably they don't even care, might as well just cancel my subscription for now.
