86 titans destroyed in 2011, 269 supercarriers.

Damn. That's insanely low. Supercap proliferation indeed.

How many are there in the game total? Must be over 1000 titans by now and 2-3k supercarriers.... That's insane...

These statistics devblogs are really great! Your breakdowns into different categories are useful and interesting, and about the only thing I can think of that would make these blogs better would be MORE GRAPHS, like ChromeStriker said.

Great work though, and thanks!

"Overall, 576,860 different characters lost ships to non-players in 2011, and 422,801 lost ships in PVP scenarios. 155,087 characters scored at least one final blow, too!"

Can you explain this statistic?

Is this "576,860 different characters lost ships to non-players" where 100% of the damage was done by NPC's? Or is this when the final blow was done by NPC's but could also have involved players doing damage?

How many of these were Concord? How many were station and gate guns in Low Sec? It would be good to get this into context.

I found it pretty shocking more ships were lost to NPC's than to other players in any given period. Especially since only incursions and sleepers actually pose any threat to players.

Not counting ones that are in capital maintenance arrays (I wouldn't expect that to be many) - 3,385 supercarriers and 847 titans.

It's just shy of 2.7 quadrillion ISK.

Now a 0.1% transition tax would raise a whole crap load of money for CONCORD, wouldn't it ? 2.7 Trillion per year ?

Also, just a question, does this count the value of a transation as both sale and purchase? i.e. it counts 10 isk item traded, not as a sale of 10 isk and a purchase of 10 isk ?

It's measured in terms of final blow (not 100% accurate, sure, but I think a pretty good indicator).

My last stats blog had sentry/CONCORD stats! :) The forum gives me an error when I try linking to it though.

2011 average was 137 supercarriers and 31 titans built per month, total of 1,646 supercarriers and 370 titans.

So...

370 titans built, 86 destroyed
1646 supercarriers built, 269 destroyed.

That means there's an awful lot left.
Should they be easier to kill or harder to build?

It would be interesting to know the surplus for other ship types.

NPCs never get final blow on killmails with players involved. It always goes to the last player to have aggressed the victim.

Do you have any stats auditing the Secure Commerce Commission's insurance policies? For example how much income they make from insurance policies, verses how much they divvy out?

2 quadrillion, 692 trillion, 367 billion, 631 million, 609 thousand, and 430 ISK

Fix POSes.  Every player should want one (even if all players can't have one).

The Eve virtual economy is staggering. Nice.

Here's a request. How about the average character age in eve and the average account age? I'm always surprised to see so many tech1 cruisers/frigs still flying around which suggest that a lot of players are still fairly new... or perhap the average charcter age by hi sec/low sec/null sec?

How many missiles were launched from a ship in EVE in 2011? To compare versus built.

How many missiles are launched per hour? minute, etc?

I can almost guarantee they don't make up the claims in premiums. Their Actuarial Department must be truly terrible.

So we're producing 2-4 times the # of ships that are being killed and you want production to increase?! That sounds more like a fundamental market problem to me. Any idea how many ships are removed from the game by players going idle?
