OP is a whining brat.

Alpha clones are CCP's way of addressing the problems that some players have with the trial offers: they don't really get enough time to sink their teeth into the game and understand what it's all about. So now they have all the time in the world to learn, establish some relationships, and figure out that the game plays them :D



But you do. Every time you log in on an Omega account, you have access to the Alpha account it's sitting on top of. I have access to all the alpha skills that I've already trained, and all the Omega skills I've paid for access to. I also get access to Alpha SP training rate, as well as the 2x training speed bonus of the Omega account.

You make it sound like paying for something entitles you to get something else for free. This is not logical.

It appears that your line of reasoning is predicated on the assumption that you are losing access to the Alpha part of the account when you pay for the Omega extras on top.

Well of course you would. Forget the fact that you've been told in no uncertain terms why they're not just not rational or valid, but completely irrelevant, you're never going to admit you're wrong even when you're screaming black and blue that the sky is red god dammit!

I don't think you would understand the first thing about 'intellectual exercise' if Isaac Newton himself travelled through time and bought you a treadmill.

Anyways, situation is what it is.

I wouldnt be surprised if CCP further granulates the Alpha/Omega account statuses in a year or so.
Perhaps as I suggested so that Omegas can fly an Alpha simultaneously (and I have explained how that can be beneficial in a previous post), if they are registered to the same email account. Perhaps so that there is a purchase/reward/item option for training additional characters on an Alpha account at Alpha rates. Or option of training an Omega account character at Alpha rates/restrictions.

Who knows. Many possibilities. Depends on how the Alpha/Omega project pans out.

Content Packs suffered a hard hit in value from this change, since they used to offer (additionally to other value) 15+20 days of full value SP training.
(As well as possibly making advantage of Recruit a Friend, but Im not sure).
Also, down the line, there will predictably come a point where skill injectors might proliferate, as initial Alphas turned Omega start dumping SP they dont need for their purposes.

I didnt expect that my argument would be widely understood. It involves some hairsplitting and an unusual/unfamiliar (albeit logical and rationally valid) perspective on equity between free and paid services.

There is much entitled whining in this thread. This was always going to be a slippery slope once you start devaluing the game by dumbing it down and making things easier / cheaper to try and make more money. People will always want more.

This alpha clone thing isn't even much different from a trial account; and you couldn't run a trial alongside a full account. No one complained about that.

No, EVE should not do what other games do. EVE should keep doing what it does best: being unique. Too many paywalls is way too complex, and I guarantee you more people will whine about that than this.

Everyone that knows me well enough knows I only have one account. Whether or not you believe me is irrelevant. You're a nobody. But you'll never be able to tie another character to me as an alt of any kind, ever, because I don't have or use one. I've only ever played EVE with one account, and the three toons I have on this account, this one being my main, along with a hauling alt and a low-skilled alt for pvp with rookies learning the game. If there was an easy way to prove it, I'd do so in a heartbeat. I have no reason to lie about this.

I have never had any intention of getting more than one account. Honestly, if it was true that you needed to pay two subs to achieve anything in this game, I would never have subbed to begin with. That would just be a blatant ripoff, and anyone that thinks you need more than one account is only deceiving themselves, and wasting their own money. Sorry, but I'm just not that easy to swindle.
