No way... I bet the number of unrigged freighters, especially in highsec, is more like 70%. People who can afford jump freighters typically use them. If they are flying a T1 freighter than the chances are a lot higher that's all they can afford, and cap rigs aren't cheap. 20% of jumpfreighter unrigged? probably less than that. 20% of freighters? Way more than that.

So freighters are getting a fuel use and cargo capacity nerf then...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I hadn't heard about fuel use, but yah they are getting a cargo capacity nerf. 2 cap cargohold optimizations = slightly above the cargo capacity they have now. 3 cargo rigs bump it up to around 1.5 million m3 capacity @ V. With regards to fuel nerf... meh who cares? So it's more expensive to jump... if they nerfed jump range, that would be another matter.

Just confirmed by fozzie anything that does not fit in a freighter now will have volume increased so that it does not fit after changes. A fully rigged freighter with cargo rigs will have a larger capacity than currently.

Feyrin wrote:
It is a complete rebalance so all stats are being looked at. There may also be new capital rigs specifically for freighter which open up new game play possibilities

No anything you cannot carry now you cannot carry afterwards because the volume will be increased.

Confirming everything posted above me was actually discussed today with Fozzie 1on1 at the round table for a good chunk of time.

I wear my goggles at night.

wonder if you could hauld lvl 5 sov upgrades with JF's now?

I would think so.

A Rhea at 367,969m3 base with skills at level 5 should be able to hit 577,497m3 with 3 Tech 2 Cargohold Optimization rigs.
A Charon at 981,250m3 base will skills at level 5 should be at 1,539,991m3 with 3 Tech 2 Cargohold Optimization rigs.

If my napkin math is correct, and nothing else changes ;)

A Rhea is a tech 2 ship, therefore it will only have 2 rig slots.

yes and also, he didnt include Calibration costs.

T1 Capital Cargohold Optimization rigs takes 100 cal each
T2 Capital Cargohold Optimization rigs takes 150 cal each

Most ships if not all have a set calibration at 400.
so you will only be able to fit 2x Tech 2 and 1x Tech 1 Capital Cargohold Optimization rig on a regular Freigther.

Also for the No dreads, carriers and rorq's in HS. Thats easy to fix,
they will just increase the repackaged m3 amount of the capitals,
that way a freigther will not be able to carry them and aswell they should not take more m3 in storage arrays in POS's.
Unless recently built, but they could just increase the repackaged m3 by the dubble and it wouldnt be to big issue.

Btw... I noticed that the other day on the JF: Why don't they have the normal racial T2 resistance profile? A Zealot has with some skills 50/35/60/80. The Ark 50/35/25/28, which is only better in the Explo department compared to the Providence.

Why does this inconsistency exist?

Its a capital, adding more resists results in huge buffs to its ehp.

Well for one these ships would become all but ungankable.

I don't see that. It would require more ships to gank them. Is that a problem?

Yes
His current or previous technique involved catalyst swarms
They work great but need a lot of people or isoboxers
Due to this saying something like 20% more catalysts makes him wheep at night
Saying 60% more gives him convulsions and these weird veiny lumps
Do not trust him, he seeks to make you love being ganked (please trust him, I want to have you courier stuff and die to him, again and again and again...)

Seems more like less free loot, and cheap kills?
Is that a problem for anyone other than those who want it easy?
Those who are good at the profession of Ganking will still continue, and still do well.
Ganking just ceases to be the low hanging fruit.

If ganking is so easy and profitable, why aren't there more people doing it? The amount of ganking is already quite low (compared to the numbers of freighters travelling), so there is really no need for more nerfs.

Oh, there definitely is more need to nerf ganking. Blink All the nerfs and "Incentives to move" imposed on industrialists create more than enough room for compensation in other departments. Besides, it would not even be a nerf to ganking, it would just be an incentive for more cooperation and more team work on their part. That's nice to have. Smile

Still eagerly awaiting a Featers & Ideas Discussion forum post with the details for upcoming freighter rigs. Since we have less than a month left before the planned deployment of 'Kronos'.

it would be great to know the plans for the T1 freighters and T2 Jump freighters regarding:
- Number of rig slots per hull
- Calibration Points available per hull
- Likely planned freighter stat changes for balancing and the issue of packaged capital ships highsec.

Likely Capital.

actually, i'd put money on large.

like the orca.

The orca isn't technically a capital, though...
