Rigs on Freighters, Carriers and Dreads in Hisec?

I already considered them, hence I said "200k+ EHP (now with the new rigs) and from 6 talos (now) to 7 with the new rigs :p

I have to call this into question. Cap ships in empire mesh a little too neatly with a lot of the other initiatives going forward.

Well, here's the thing, if players will be able to build, quote 'everything' and destroy, and again I quote 'everything' there's a practical limit on this in empire. Beating a large POS to death in high sec, for example, is simply impractical for all but the very largest battleship fleets.

Since POS use is likely to increase in Empire with the removal of the standing limitations and the buffs they're going to be getting to offset the changes in manufacturing and research, then there needs to be a logical way to PvP this.

In the old days, we'd work this sort of thing by blockaiding the system. However, with Warp to 0 and high sec's ban on bubbles, that's impossible. Unless a battleship fleet is extremely large, even putting a tanked large POS in reenforced mode is difficult at best, and likely to cost more in terms of ships that the POS itself costs if the POS is manned.

The only really logical way for PvP to happen here is to allow in dreadnoughts.

deathstars arent common in high sec. im not sure they'll become common.

me and three other guys can POS bash a large tower with a single account each. The increase in POS's doesnt mean that they'll all be more difficult to siege than they already are. but it should make for some interesting pew if they are. just imagine, war decs that arent fought on station, and assets are actually being blown up, with the blueprints inside them!!

or maybe everyone will tear down their pos the moment they are decced like they do now.

im just not so sure dreads will be needed.

wonder if you could hauld lvl 5 sov upgrades with JF's now?

If I'm hearing this right, they'll most likely nerf the hold so that you can't get more cargo then you could before. Theyre now just giving you options to use.

As the bright bulb that opened their mouth and created death stars in the first place, start having enough PvP around them, and you'll have death stars. Particularly if they've got a high value BPO locked in a lab they can't take out (thanks to Industry changes).

I'd expect them to nerf the cargo and then make you decided to fit back for it or fit for tank.

At this point, if freighters are getting rigs, I would rather see them get some nerds and compensated with a full a slot layout.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

I tend to go with this. If they are going to prevent it, and I don't believe that, but for the sake of argument:

I actually think they'ed go with a legality thing where it gets confiscated, like with drugs.

I'm pretty certain that IF caps can be freighted into high-sec the rules would be moot. But then I don't expect CCP to allow them to be freighted in even after rigs...

I am shocked at how everyone is missing that fozzie said that Freighters and JF will be getting nerfed rebalanced. Obviously a JF will be made to not carry as much as a pre-rebalance freighter

Well, like I said: If POS in highsec are going ot become more common, and the goal of Industry is to increase conflict, and thus, PvP, then cap ships in high sec is the logical step. There needs to be an effetive way for mid teir groups to kill deathstars without getting thier skulls bashed in in the process. Hell, I lost a med Domination POS a few years ago that I took the time to actually arm. Thing took down four times it's cost in battleships before it succumbed.

That's exactly my thought exactly, they'll use the same mechanics that effect drugs in your hold in high sec.
