Defacing property is so much more serious than attempting to end someone's life in the world of goons? You do know that Mittens would have been looking at jail time if CCP or what's his name had pressed charges, right?

Unless this is a very very very good troll...

whoever this was, needs to suffer the consequences.

Which consequences they are. despite the CCP reaction is up to every eve player himself.

No, but screaming for the banhammer and full on raging is always funny. Particularly so soon after the Bonus Room episode and all the screeching when CCP exercised their right to enforce their EULA without asking permission from forum ragers. And various people went, predictably, berserk. I'm sorry, I can't help but find it hilarious. Deface my name on the monument and I'd probably wet myself laughing. Both 'victims' are the least likely to inspire any sort of sympathy, but fair play for being outraged on behalf of the 'community'.

I especially love the This is just despicable! Goon posts, and the irony in making these remarks immediately after fanfest. I hope the 'perp' pleads not guilty, cos they were drunk. And blames fellow players. Good luck with the forum detecting and prosecution though, off to a good start.

Nobody attempted to end anyone else's life.

I seriously doubt that.

Cygnet Lythanea wrote:
Because CCP threw wide the gates to this sort of thing not coming down like a tone of bricks on mittens. After all, if doing power points to manipulate someone into taking their own life isn't a serious crime, vandalism is hardly worth talking about.

I like where this thread has gone.

Community outrage --> internet lawyering ---> crimes against humanity and attempted murder ---> Grrr Goons.

It always comes back to Grrr Goons.

Well, if it wasn't the Goons who are up here saying that it's a horrible crime that needs prosecuted, with what can only be called staggering hypocrisy, you wouldn't have the Grr Goons step.

Way too far. I honestly didn't expect something like this. However, the discussion around the culprit's identity is certainly diverting!

Stupid question which the answer for doesnt really prove anything, but was Gevlon actually at FanFest?

This does seem to be directly relevant. His blog doesn't seem to mention it so highly doubtful he went.

Which leads to the question! Who dislikes Gevlon enough to frame him for such a despicable act? Grrr...

I see three potential victims here.
CCP's monument was defaced.
Xenuria's name was defaced on the monument.
Gevlon Goblin was framed for it.

So what if you don't care about your name being defaced, that's still physical damage to CCP's property.

I don't like Xenuria. I don't care about GG. I do care about CCP and this community.

I hope you realize that the main gist of the "Goon posts" in this thread has been to shift the focus away from GG - a good thing since he doesn't appear to have done this. Trying to blame us for a witchhunt is a bit misguided when we're the ones lending rationality to this debacle.

I'm hoping if they ever bag mine, they at least have the decency to hit it with thermite, or at least a pencil torch, after all the 'Kill it with FIRE!' posts about me.

Since you seem to utterly fail to understand why Mittens would be a criminal, here is a brief primer.

Who is "screaming for the banhammer". The only person here screaming is you, when you come in screaming wild accusations abut how people are reacting. We are perfectly happy to watch CCP proceed down whatever line of investigation they want, and if they find he culprit, they will inevitably ban them, that's pretty much a given. We're simply stating that we would not be opposed to that.

honestly, if you can't see the difference between this and the other things you've mentioned, then I really don't know what to say. Perhaps suggesting you go to school wouldn't be a hard push. Maybe since you'e got such a hard on for the Mittani you should go back and read what actually happened, then you'd realise nobody was saying "not guilty", not even Mittani himself. He took his punishment, end of. with the E1 situation, it wasn't CCPs decision, but the fact that it was taken purely off the back of a single CSM members hate campaign with THE VICTIM stating that there should be no banning. When the victim is on the other side of the argument, that's a clear sign of a problem.

The problem with people like you is that you don;t actually believe the horse **** you come out with. You just want to try and turn everything, no matter what is is, back into "grr goons" ****. Take a loot at the actual situation. Are you honestly saying that you think vandalism of a public monument in a capital city is perfectly reasonable behaviour? If no, then shut the **** up, if yes, then re-evaluate your positions in society. Either way, quit crying.

You always have the Grrr Goons step. It's the only constant on the forum.

It should be officially called the "Grrr Goons Constant" and be given a value. There should be a formula derived to determine the number of pages before "Grrr Goons" appears in any thread. Something of the form:

N = Grr Goons x f(x)

Yes, if you have absolutely no idea how the law works, then yes, it could seem like staggering hypocrisy. That doesn't mean it actually is though, it just means your skewed view makes it appear that way. It's kinda like magic, but stupid.

Dude. This post has absolutely no place for sound logical arguments. We're all just screaming, remember?

Same, but if you are going to run up and down waving your arms about how the community has been disrespected, trolled, violated. Remember where you are and who you identify with ingame. Just for a minute.

Ye, I agree don't start a witch hunt. But when you attempt to 'lend rationality' to the debacle in all seriousness, don't expect us not to fall about laughing whilst our irony meters explode.

And you did deface the monument yourselves shortly before (but only with a sticker, so that was OK). I'm contacting IZ to see if the sticker should be classed as public defacement.

Yes, we did that. All of us, collectively. I, James Amril-Kesh, defaced a monument in a country I've never set foot on.
