Who got Darius III's soiled tags?

I would be more inclined to make sure Trebor didn't pull a fast one and trade out his old cursed tag.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

No, you don't really get it: it's in FPTP that strategic voting is so important, not in STV.

First choices count a lot in an STV election. I believe they actually posted the weightings on first preference as well.

Oh I hope I did . . . that way I would know I had ones that were just like new, not having been used at all over the past 2 years except taken out of the linen closet for special occasions.

That's not what I said. What I said was that strategic voting was far more important in FPTP than STV. This means that in FPTP, you will be far more likely to vote strategically than in STV. This means that a bunch of STV ballots are useless at figuring out who would win a FPTP vote.

So our ticket was used to elect two PL guys, in the name of a dissolved coalition - and we voted right before they left. Or they left just after getting our vote - same deal.

And keep a true ~wordsmaster~ like Banlish, with a knowledge rivaling the official wiki AND e-uni wiki, and a dedication to write words second only to Tolkien, out of the tables.

Lorded and screwed over.

Again.

Do we have numbers for what % of people actually filled out all 14 voting spots on the ballot?

From anecdotal stuff, it seems that a lot of people only voted for 1-4 candidates

You might want to tell that to the members of TEST Lol

I would like to personally apologize for the delay in the publication of this blog and the full list of ballots. In preparing for the blog we discovered that 3 of the 49,702 votes had somehow entered the same candidates into multiple preference slots. This action provides no advantage in a Wright-STV election, but we wanted to take the time to figure out how these votes were generated and that they were not indicative of a larger problem.

After some extensive testing we are fairly certain that, while fiddling with the ballot website, a user(s) found a way to modify his own vote submission in the backend of the ballot that created duplication of candidates in their ballot. This was limited to only their own individual ballot selection and had no effect on the outcome of the election. We will be sure that we add a check for this ballot error in the future. Because candidate duplication provides no advantage in a Wright-STV election, we have not removed these ballots, and they can still be found in the blog linked above.

"Formatting?"

Anyway I was concerned that something like this may have happened. I am glad you fellows found it and it wasn't too severe.

And the funny part is that I didn't follow the ticket, but voted MY candidates as first two positions, then the rest of the ticket as proposed by our so-called bigwigs.

And for this, I was ripped a new one on our forums, and keep reading that I'm still wrong.

I swear, some people are thicker than 1600mm rolled tungsten. Even in front of glaring evidence, they still prefer to bend over.

Repeatedly.

What's the bet that the majority of the people who voted for 14 candidates were using the bookmarklet that was put together?

Blink

Of course, for /most/ people, the stats say taking it past 5 or so votes wouldn't make a /huge/ difference. Though that's probably in part due to people not taking it past 5 votes or so.

Woo! CSM XI!
