CVA under the leadership of one Director decided to drop a Dread fleet in -A- space, got lag slaughtered, lost their defense fleet in the process, -A- came after them afterwards. The CVA director never logged in again.
I know whaty happened.

Good to hear on the NCDot thing and I know how they fell apart. The point was, they were driven out of the north. I expect -A- to get full wipe as well. That's the detriment of EVE. Null is actually larger than the population with a desire to be there yet every war forces one of two sides back to high Sec or faction null. It isn't so much a matter of honor or anything so mellowdramatic. Just good practice to keep yourself in a supply of enemies.

Again, the calls are for more low-end gameplay; the day-to-day of nullsec citizenship. There is no shortage of people to war with, though there is a shortage of game mechanical things to go to war over.

I know, though, reading is hard compared to just barfing responses at your own imagined strawmen. I sympathize.

When you never actually take a position on anything and just cry, where are the proofs when someone else does, all arguments become straw man and that's great of it's all about forum warriors and winning the forums but some of us actually post and reply based on the game of EVE, not winning the forums.

As most of the pvp "elitists" hate industrialists and null bears from the bottom of their hearts and having stuctures that are easy to blow up would in my own opinion create a situation where industrialists would just say "f*** that" cause the defence and risk would be on the hands of the industrialists. So I still stay on my old opinion that null sucks and it's because of the pvpers who live there.

I personaly know that it's doable to make large quantities of ships in 0.0 but the risk involved, the pay and the attitude makes it's not worth while.

I gotta say this.... it's driving me nuts and I just need to get it off my chest.

This is the easiest game to pvp on that I've ever seen.

I've played many many pvp games in my time. I played text based MUD's that is like a text version of an adventure game. You had the name of the room (Darkwood Forest) a description, a list of any players who may be there, and possible directions. Thousands of rooms spanning a huge multi-level area. Finding people was NOT easy. You had to seriously work for your kills.

I've played Trade Wars- also a text game that is a lot like Eve, but provided areas of defense and safe havens. You had to work for your kills.

I've played Neverwinter Nights and World of Warcraft. And many others. I like PvP... it's a challenge.

And then there's Eve. PvP here is the most simplistic, silver platter served bunch of nonsense I've yet seen any game possess. It's not a Sandbox. It's a Spider's Web. People say Nerf Local and it's cried out against because everyone in Null uses it to instantly know when a fly has come into their web. Then they launch their gate camps and warp bubbles and it's all over. They go into High Sec with cheap ships to suicide mining barges while they complain that no one is moving about in Null (because of the spider's web).

Every aspect of Null was designed around spider web principles. There's a lot of waiting and very little work. They reject any idea that would possibly make the spider have to move about and search. They need Local, choke points, and gates or they can't function in abusing people in Null.

And they call themselves elite PvP'ers. If someone were to hop in the fastest frigate, outfit it with a stable cap and the best skills and equipment, jump into their sector, and kick it up to full thrusters in a direction that led absolutely nowhere, it would completely disrupt their entire lifestyle. That one single act. A head start on a frigate of a player with nothing to do for the next several hours but go off in a straight line to nothingness could unhinge a null-sec PvP'er quite dramatically. I've been seriously considering putting a test to this very soon. I'm planning to end it with a self-destruct to get back to my own sector just to see what happens.

As I've said here- I'm no carebear. I've tracked enemies down on other games for days before catching up to them and I've done battle over large areas until one of us wound up dead. But, there's just no challenge here. In a Sandbox, two kids duke it out. In a Spider's Web, the spider spins a web and the fly is forced to fly into it- the fly has no choice. In High sec, there are no webs so the PvP'ers cry out for a nerf because moving to High Sec and doing 1 on 1 battle is too much of a chore. They need their webs.

This is not their fault. This is the fault of how it's designed. Yes, I have only spent a small amount of time in Null, but I read... I pay attention. I've been playing this game for years off and on and I've read post after post after post about high vs null space from BOTH sides. I don't know what half the acronyms mean that are used and I'm afraid to ask because the moment I do, I'll get a bunch of ass-hats telling me to learn how to play. But I do know the layouts and workings of null. And I know why people go there and I know why other people don't.

Combat let alone pvp does not only reside in Null Sec or High Sec either. There are some of us who love good challenging fights. That's why you go on roams. To see who you can stir trouble with and see what they bring. The attitude you speak of especially when asking questions is not out of the norm with many players.

There is a certain level of "epeen" and trash talking that takes place daily especially when one brave soul feels bolstered by a blob behind him to perk up and open his mouth in local. Catch that player alone in a belt and he'll cower calling for help in a moments notice.

It's the pack mentality plain and simple and one that shows glaring weakness. I have some advice for you. Don't base Eve's combat let alone your experience just on Null Sec or the multitude of players who huddle around one another for hugs and protection.

Eve still has some excellent fights. Might I recommend joining a smaller corp or alliance of like minded players. There's players I've flown with for years and still do whom keep me coming back to this game. It's not the K/D ratio or gloating over some kill but the camaraderie.

That is why I love smaller gang combat. You are worth your salt as not only yourself but your fleetmates depend upon you to fulfill a certain role and have a basic understanding of combat and how to adapt in a moments notice. This is the point I'm trying to make. Combat has lost that intimacy. Unless you specifically go on a smaller roam it's always a pecking order or you yourself are Drake number 60/100.

Eve should be about the individual. After all that's why we all started playing right? To explore New Eden and conquer it's challenges and to strike out on our own and make a lasting impact. Sadly we've lost that and that's why a lot of newer players feel discouraged and why older vets sit and say they are bored.

You should spend some more time in null. Do your frigate idea and set your destination for UJY-HE. You'll find that you won't agitate that many people because it is mostly empty. If you can fly something with a covops cloak you can pretty much go where ever you want.
