VAERT EvE ISK => RL money donations Emergency Relief Initiative

After having received a 10B donation by RAW23's alt, I have restored operation of the Vahrokh’s Emergencies Relief Trust [VAERT].
This is an happy day for VAERT: nice donation, one year of operation and also milestone of 100B secured.

Full references about how the whole Institution works and its rules are available on the old forums.

Follows a brief description along with some usability improvements on the Donors side.


What's VAERT

VAERT is a zero management fees, fund based charity organization, to help the unfortunate during "CCP PLEX for [Population]" initiatives.
When CCP sets up an humanitarian initiative, VAERT sends them the whole accrued capital.


How to send donations

Send ISK, PLEX, unresearched BPOs, skill books to Vahrokh Financial Technologies [VAHFT].
You might want to add "Donation" in the "Reason" field.

Other kinds of assets may be donated as well, please contact Vaerah Vahrokha for details first.
When using contracts, they should have a 2 weeks expiration otherwise they will probably expire before being taken.

From now on, all donations will be public unless otherwise specified.
If you wish to donate anonymously please fill the Reason field as follows:

Sister Funds

It's possible to create your own Charity Fund, that will be reported in the VAERT balance statements.
Basically, you just segregate your own donations in a separate wallet and monthly send me a statement with the current amount at hand.
Sister Funds cannot ever act, impersonate or advertise in the name of VAERT. CCP are extremely swift and harsh at dealing with any wrong doing in these matters.

Some hours ago, I have received 80B from RAW23 (Kara Roideater).
Unlike the 10B mentioned in the first posts, this is a pro-charity investment capital. That is, the revenues will accrue the charity master fund but the capital is factually still owned by RAW23.

This also means that the 80B won't end in the charity's master fund, because the charity's charter explicitly forbids ANY withdrawal of any kind except when forwarding the whole master fund to CCP (that is, during the emergency initiatives).

Therefore in the next days I'll study an hedge fund to hold the capital, possibly with the aid / exit strategy of having a RAW23 alt able to withdraw the sum in case I become unable to operate in EvE for any reason.

In my idea it would evolve into a listed fund and even into an open ended fund.

I'll gladly accept constructive ideas about how to practically implement the idea and how to file it into the fund of funds balance sheets. I think it could become just another Sister Fund, but there might be better ways.

After consultation with VV we came to the mutual conclusion that this would not be the best way forward and VV returned the isk to me. I have now decided to leave eve and have signed over my 35bil invested with Grendell to the fund. This is a direct donation and not a management/investment agreement. The isk now belongs to the fund. Which I think allows me to nick the top donor spot from my great former business partner Rykker Blink

Balance sheet update

RAW23 recently made a very massive donation. He gave ownership of his 35B stake in Grendell's [GLTB] Long Term Bond over to VAERT.

This makes him the Top All Time Donor!

This, along with some good news from our Sister Funds brings the Fund of Funds NAV back to over 50B!



Now, notice how the 35B are still locked into Grendell's bond and thus they are an asset but not a current one.
They will yield interests but the capital is not available yet.

I filed the 35B under a "Long term Accounts Receivable" record (see accounting practices).

Therefore if a RL emergency happens before Grendell's GLTB is over, those 35B will not be available to be converted into PLEX.

Once they become available, they will be moved from "Long term Accounts Receivable" to "Designated Funds" and will become a current, liquidable asset.
