We'll have to wait until returning 3-monthers stop loggin in now that the fun is moving to low and null only, and then let their subscriptions lapse around March. Blink

Yes because there is nothing else to do in high sec for new players, now that highsec apparently will be bypassed by this new event (I assume your snarky reference is related to this nline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=463647&find=unread]thread).
Nothing at allRoll You are such a dramaqueen and apparently spent enormous amounts of time to find things that in your world fits to your perceived point of view.

You are also avoiding the criticism of the assumptions that you build your your point of view on, and not explaining why the development in ACU does not fit to your predictions?

You know what the worst thing is? PVE could need a makeover (Many, myself included, agree), but with your persistent claim that it is the reason that EVE is dying, just hurts your cause. People focus on your crazy and faulty readings of different statistics rather than actually thinking about how to improve PVE. If you dropped the bitterness (think of RL, how fast do you avoid an friend who turns bitter over something?) and stayed in the "Player Features and Ideas Discussion" forum people might be more sympathetic to your cause. No one likes a complainer.

"I'm all for pvp, don't get me wrong. I've ganked in Empire, blobed in low sec. Got T-shirts from every which-where.. But to be forced into a pvp confrontation that I didn't want is wrong ccp." RealFlisker

I once tried to have that discussion with a poster named Dinsdale. Even dropped him this nifty and timely article as a hint about why his multi year long rantings hurt his cause more than helped. He never listened, people like that never do, they think what they are doing is noble. It's not.

The Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20 wrote:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Your vision of what a PVP game is is quite limited tbh.

Yeah, I PvP since text mode games, have PvPed in most games including very renowed DAoC / Warhammer / Darkfall / Guild Wars (and of course in "conventional MMOS" like SWTOR and WoW arena too). And of course in EvE.

I really have a limited vision after these "few" years.

Gregor Parud wrote:
it's exactly the same in ED, people sit in a known system at the point of entry (sun) or destination (station), preferably with friends and gank everything they can find.

Yes, ganks tend to share overall execution across MMOs. What makes it different is the execution. In EvE's case it's possible to rig the situation to make it almost a sure win. This makes being the victim so NOT cool (the worst feeling = "I stood no chance whatsoever") that 1v1 and similar are rare, too much rare to really feel like you did not waste an evening for those 2-3 kills.

Gregor Parud wrote:

Also, there is no "instalocking" in EVE, it doesn't exist.

Yeah, because EvE sim engine has 1 second ticks. That's REALLY going to change the outcome! Oh wait, the result is still that you get the "solo" ganker boost his scrambler to close-to-insta-locking.

The minor fact you don't do it, does not mean the others don't.

I, and others, do just fine soloing or small gang, escaping camps and "instalockers" and no we don't rely on WCS or anything silly like that. Your depiction of EVE PVP isn't necessarily unrealistic but it's kinda defeatist in a "there's nothing that can be done about it" as if you're trying to convince yourself that it's just futile to even try, and thus it's just better to stick to market stuff.

Solo PVP works fine in EVE, it's limited and you will run into problems a lot, but that's the way of niche game play (like how EVE is a niche game to begin with). You just have to agree to the limitations and issues that come with it.

"Market stuff" is actually PvP, every time I get "killed" in PvP I can lose 500M-10 billions (I mostly do long term trading, where money adds), which is well beyond what I'd lose if I played with ships.

The "instalock" stuff is not defeatism. Is denouncing an hideously stupid mechanic that scares "non pros" away from PvP.

Try going solo around in anything with killing ability that it's not some T3 cheat setup, you'll easily get caught and slammed.
If you don't get slammed, then the other guy just sucks at ganking.

In comparison, "pathetic ED PvP" is a supreme giant, as you always get a chance when scrambled and one after being scrambled.

This confirms my earlier "your vision on PVP is very limited", not to bash or anything but honestly "you can't pvp unless you fly a ship worth billions", "you need T3 to pvp" is hilarious nonsense.

The definition of insanity is to keep trying the same thing over and over again ...
... expecting a different result eventually.

I hereby question your sanity, because you keep argueing abou the same things ...
... even worse, often with th same people ...
... expecting they start to actually think.

Let them talk.
It's irrelevant.

Those who know better won't magically turn dumb by reading them ...
... those who don't will not turn wiser by reading you.

The yet uninitiated and dumb ones can not be helped anyway ...
... and the smart ones will realize that the naysayers ...
... and those who constantly talk about limits ...
... have nothing to say anyway.

Hey today in some local someone said "omg Sol you really write like on the forums!"

That was hilarious! ^_^

I wish for one thing....

That when this game hasn't died ...
... we collectively laugh about them and point at them.

Forever.

Just to make sure they'll never forget how they made fools of themselves ...

They really deserve it. Especially the overly self important carebear up there ...
... who has nothing to show but her silly, worthless words.

I'd suggest pointing a certain group at certain someone's actually obvious alts ...
... who are ludicrously easy to spot in OOPE ...
... who certainly keep flying freighters ...........

Well, we all know Shadow Cartel use their titans like jump bridges and not pvp ships. No need to force that on everyone else too.

Some people want to pvp in them as well.
