Hell yea, well said.

I'm stuck by that posters use fot he words 'normal people'. Normal people suck and this guy (and the entire "Eve is dying/fix the game to be something i like" crowd) are basically demanding that CCP sell out on what has made this game great and kept it alive for more than a decade when most MMOs fold in less than half that time..

How intensely short sighted and selfish can they be? If they think that games that 'normal people' like, why not go play those and let the rest of us get on with things here? Not that I don't appreciate 'hater money' (cash from people who hate EVE but keep playing anyways, whose names tend to end either in "Fazmarai" or "alt" lol)

They can be infinitely short sighted and selfish. I mean, really, if the game bothers people so much stop freaking playing! What does it say about people who believe the game is so broken that they are determined to post wall of text after wall of text week after week about how miserable it all is? A lot of 'em lack self awareness to the point they don't even realize it's their own misery and brokenness they are projecting.... And they get damn determined to drag you into it too...cuz the alternative for them is unthinkable. And once they've committed to a narrative they have to continue to propagate it cuz they give themselves no way out when it turns out to not be true...

Personally, I think it's the bitching and moaning that turn people off and drive peeps away more than anything. I know I'd get sick of the bitter vets continuously bitching at every change... That burned me out more than any of the relatively minor adjustments I've made in my own play style...

We should see a small bump in November and then some lows in December.

This is by far the best and maybe only objectively grounded assessment available in this thread about the state of the game. And if someone ran the math on the statistical deviation from year to year you could even see whether or not losses/gains were within certain expected control limits.

But even this doesn't take into account the full picture of the various revenue streams available to CCP, which I suspect are rather healthy.

We aren't privy to that info-rightfully so.

IIRC the last financials of CCP I saw indicated revenue wasn't a problem at all it was the proportion of revenue they were investing in new projects that made things look a lil shaky- and I'm no expert. But they've cut their losses in recent years- which I call good management.

No matter how emphatically peeps post or how eloquent the walls of text the truth is we don't really know squat.

Never bothered with a permit. Still mined (yes, sad, I know) and never been ganked. I even tried to mine in the more hot systems, but still nothing. If anything I'm quite disappointed with these so-called gankers, and can't really understand how people can be so unfortunate. I mean isn't it just a matter of finding a quiet system and watching local, overview and stay aligned? Hell, I even tried mining directly in Halaima while bitching in local, and still nothing. I guess they must've thought I was bait...

That aside, I still think newbies should be able to mine or do whatever in high sec in relative peace. This game is hard enough, and without new blood it will die. Instead more incentives should be given to seek risk in order to gain rewards. However enter null or wh, and all bets are off, as they should be, even for newbies. Never the less, some of the appeal of this game is exactly that you aren't even safe in high sec. That's what I tell all my friends, and then they start to wonder how it's possible to enjoy such a ruthless game.

You actually don't understand a darn thing he said did you???

Activity is the same, but the PCU and subscribers are down. Which means that those that left were low activity players...

So define dying? Paying the bills requires subscribers, unique logins... doesn't matter if the ones that are left are more active, what matters is how many people are parting with that cash each and every month.

So please, tell me your exuberance to pull any "good news" out of Quant's report just temporarily blinded your comprehension of what he actually was saying?

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

Most of the declines have to do with with the ban on input broadcasting(isboxer). Multi boxing now is once again a manual effort. Pretty sure a lot of alternate accounts got unsubbed as a result.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

someone can't do math. Why don't you add up all the null regions, then add up the non-null regions, and tell us what you get.

And when yo finish with that, why don't you then go look at the population stats, and tell us in which place (null or high) is a pilot more likely to lose a ship? That is if you can look past your penchant for dishonesty long enough.

So EVE is dying because it shed non-contributing dead weight? Sorry, if your gonna push the "EVE needs to change to suit me and my preferences bring in new players because "think of the children" agenda, you'll have to do much better than that lol.

Presumably this non-contributing dead weight somehow funded their accounts.

In game terms, no great loss. In financial terms, well, that's for CCP to sweat over I guess.

Perhaps the tone of these things should change from "Eve is dying" to "CCP is dying". Or not, as the case may be...

When a person is insane, as you clearly are, do you know that you're insane? Maybe you're just sitting around, reading 'Guns and Ammo', masturbating in your own faeces...do you just stop and go, 'Wow! It is amazing how f*cking crazy I really am!'?

I think the case is that neither is dying. CCP appears to be holding on ok (hell, better than you would expect from a company with 1 real product and the development track record it has). They even made a few bucks on selling the WoD IP. "EVE is Dying" as a belief (I'd say "hope" for some) has 2 main facets:

-Standard "Doomsday thinking" that's no different from what we see in real life.

and

-The totally not standard practice of some people not being content with how EVE Online is and then trying to use any perceived sign of decline as evidence of "see, that didn't work, now try it my way". In other words, a pathological type of passive aggressive manipulation. They WANT EVE to come close to dying so that the powers that be will change course and make the game into something they think they want (ignoring the fact that other games exist that do that already), which also has the side affect of removing the 'bad people' they don't like from the game.

The second group proclaimed EVE was dying even when the PCU was going up. It going down just fueled the fires of stupidity lol.

I can do math just fine... all the regions are listed and you are free to add up all the Null regions and tell me how close it gets.

Also, you keep using the fallback of population density... but fail to account for the fact that production, mining, rating were all very healthy in 0.0

So which is it, everyone living there a carebear? Or its empty but magically stuff is happening? I know which is true, and so do you.

Also, it was pointed out already on Reddit that Quant used isk generation as his measurement of activity to counter Eve-Offline.net numbers... however activity in general is still down, so Quant was trying to spin that. Sorry, PCU, Activity and Subscribers are all down. Bad for CCP, bad for the game.

The question then becomes, why do you care...

Remember, you are just waiting for you accounts to lapse, right? Or do you still intend to stick with a game you don't like developed by Quants you don't trust?

This is pretty much true. If you want to waste your life fighting against something that is inconsequential in the grand scheme (ie how an Icelandic video game maker you don't work for functions, or how a space video game functions), that's totally your right. I think it's beyond insanity, but again it's your life to waste. Perhaps you get off on frustration (i've seen people "get off" on worse, which is why I won't be going back to Tijuana any time soon lol), and honestly, I find folks like you horrifyingly interesting. I'd love to see what you keep in your basement lol.

Who Cares next. O wait uhm well yah the game is dying you know .... Because there is a drop of online "in game players" xD xD yah you forgot the real subscribers. Sins CCP do not release it, then this threat is aka bullsh*t.

People think only the online players are paying customers? /facepalm

Stop debating nonsense topic its nonsense only if ccp release there is a drop in subscribers then we have problem well we there have a problem.

The reason of "online drop" is why farm isk if you can pay isk. End of debate people have less time and do not want to play hours and hours for some isk. Or waiting for a bait in zero sec.

Ah, my reading of that graph says it is an analysis of the top 20 regions by trade value for September.

So it isn't all regions and it's no surprise that highsec regions dominate in the graph because there's far more trade being done in those.

Concluding that highsec is massively more dangerous than 0.0 on the basis of that graph though is very shaky. Where's Cloud Ring, Insmother, Catch, Imensea, Delve, Fountain, Querious, Black Rise, wormhole space, etc?

If you want to draw the conclusion you have, you need different data. All that graph shows is that among the top trade regions, highsec has had more destruction.

No surprise either, but the graph isn't saying what you've stated because that's not possible to say from that graph.

IIRC there are 64? Non-Wormhole Space regions, or thereabouts.
