Small issue, but opening the launcher seems to take longer than before.

When I first open it I get about 10 seconds of it just being white.

I cant see 24 imperial crusade logistic support stations in space nor in the preview window. The collision grid is there i just tested it. Ran the repair tool and it finished in a few seconds with nothing repaired as far as i can see.

I have an issue with Neocom menu: it is closing by itself. I think this happens when resources are being downloaded: the animated circle appears in the left lower corner, usually after "hard" events like undocking, docking and jumping through gates.

Sorry if allready answered, but where can i found the .exe file of the latest Launcher ?
I found the installer (EVE_Online8Installer_871567.msi), but not the EVEOnlineLauncher_2_2_871567.exe .

My launcher is stuck to update itself (progress bar @ 0%), same issue yesterday with the Scylla release, dowloading the launcher as an exe file solved my problem.

Thx o/

You can find it in the info file used by the EVE Launcher, but it's usually something we give people when all other avenues have failed. If you're resorting to it, it would be good to get a look at your log files before they are lost with the reinstall, since there might be something useful in them.

Ok, so the EVEOnlineLauncher_2_2_871481.exe is the good one ?

Other question : EVE is installed in a secondary HDD, but i found two shared file folder in my C:\ drive.
C:\Users\All Users\Ccp\Eve\SharedCache
C:\ProgramData\Ccp\Eve\SharedCache

These 2 folders are sized to 13.1GB each, i think i miss a step at the patch install of Scylla.
What can i do to move these folders (or maybe one, i think have two of them is a mistake) to my secondary HDD (where is installed EVE) ?

Thanks !

I am literally beyond mad.

It's difficult to write this post without swearing.

Simply put: launcher stuck at "creating patch 0%". I came today from work, my pc was working and launcher active. I was still logged in and clicked "Play". Game started but did not connected because of incompatible build. Well ok, i quit the game and restarted launcher. And now it is stuck creating patch. This happened already few times with me in the past - i used repair tool and it was okay after an hour (!) of 'calculating hash' or something like that. But now i cannot use it, right?

So i uninstalled and redownloaded eve. Whole 7 gb. After two hours (!) installation was complete. On the first launch launcher crashed after ten mins. But that's okay i'm used to it. I always crashes. Like sometimes i have to start it up 5 times. But this time it again got stuck at "creating patch 0%". And constantly eats out 13-20% of cpu.

Also my shared cash folder is 13 gb now.

So total reinstall did not help.

I am out of the damn options and beyond mad.

************************************************

EDIT: Fixed reinstalling launcher. I'm still mad.

I've noticed multi-boxing performance issues since this patch. I can run two clients OK, but when I start the third all three slow down considerably. This is using the same equipment that ran all three clients just fine the previous day. Any advice?

I am having small freezes continuously with connection to the loading circle that tells me it loads resources all the time. Before the patch I haven't seen this problem occur ever. I am always running high settings with high fps all the time. They are really short freezes but they happen quite a lot, mostly when jumping between system, undocking where there is more activity and such. Also overall loading times, much longer. I do have download all resources option on in the launcher (game still loading resources which probably causes all the freezes)

Edit: I have been watching the loading circle more closely this time, whenever the circle appears or disappears, that is when the freezes occur, not sure what that's about, but I d rather not have it there.

In my case it "loads resources all the time" is one file all the time --> cache:/Temp/headlines.dds
It seen in Monitor window (Ctrl-Alt-Shift-M) in Log chapter:

20:58:21 blue::Main warning Failed to load 'cache:/Temp/headlines.dds'

I create symbolic link to another random .dds file and named it 'headlines.dds', but it not hepled, all freezes stay with me ((

Hi,

experienced several issues, which have been relayed in this thread already and decided just to suck it up and do a fresh install. However, despite the fresh install, on a new HDD, I still cannot log on. Once the "Play" button is hit I cycle through to "done processing bulk data" and then the system hangs. Programme shows as "not responding".

If I wander off to calm down and come back I occasionally return to the Character Selection screen but as soon as I select a character I get the "socket closed" message. I have tried several other online games and none of them are suffering major socket or packet loss errors.

I have read the Socket Closed thread. I have read this thread and the DoD thread. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on 86 bit.

tl;dr before the, successful, patch EVE worked fine, now it doesn't.

Advice please.

This issue is being investigated. You seem to suffer from this more severely than most, but we do see it here to some degree and hope to have a fix soon.

opening the launcher and logging in is fine for me, but its taking ages to load the character selection screen after pressing play, at least 10 times longer than it did pre-tuesday.

Can you file a defect on this, from in-game? There's possibly something in the logs that might give us clues to what is going on.

I have some problems with the scan probes in the beta map:
1.The probe range and target signal changed to 2-D circles. They are 3-D spheres in the original map. I think a 2-D scan is not possible to find an object in 3-D space.
2.I cannot pinpoint the target no matter how I adjust the probe location and range. Usually I can pinpoint the target in 3-4 attempts in the original map.
3.Sometimes the red area that represents target signal disappears from the map.
4.The probe icon blocked me from moving the central cube of the probes.

Basically the scan probe in beta map is not functional.

any progress has been made on that front ... its a bit frustrated to just sit in station and do spin ships, cos only that would not trigger loading bar and afterwards a lag...

EDIT:

I did some testing last night and ...

If i start my shared cache folder from 0, and log in then game will start downloading stuff from net... and I can play game... loading bar is there downloading stuff from net ( network status ) and games is as it was before patch, here and there few textures are missing but they are downloaded quite fast... but, somewhere around 1GB of cache folder loading bar turns off... and then again if i start game and go out station and loading bar is sporadic and lag again is on every jump, every dock,.... bascily as soon as loading bar appears.

I m not sure if that helps anything.

I tired this on SSD and HDD no difference at all, i tried full shared cache folder on SSD and moving to HDD, i tried every combination game binaries + shared cache folder vs SSD + HDD.
Simple noting helps..., new drivers from gfx, new drivers for MBO, for SSD... same, as soon as loading bar appears lag hit like hammer :)

When I logged on this morning all my geckos were gone!

Both the the drone bay of my ship and in my asset list.

Anyone knows what that is all about?

Re-posting this from DoD thread as it got left behind and I'm not sure it belonged there.

Hi!

I noticed on the Sisi client after it was changed to download on demand that when i made a session change ingame like jumping a gate or undocking from station that the client halts for 2-3 secs.

I never got around to reporting it and forgot about it until i patched my tq client today and the issue was introduced on tq as well.

Now, when jumping gates its not that big of an issue as you end up cloaked after jumping but undocking from a station leaves your ship in space while the client hangs and takes away the seconds you may need to get away from station before someone targets you.

I cannot find any other posts about this but I know other players have noticed it as well.

o/

Were you able to reproduce this within the last few days or today on Tranquility? There was indeed a short freeze during session changes on Singularity, which was unrelated to Download on Demand. This freeze should have been fixed about 12 days ago and I am no longer able to reproduce it.

Hmm....I actually don't seem to be able to reproduce the issue anymore. I definetly noticed it on TQ right after i had patched my client today and an old corpmate of mine also noticed it. Maybe it was just something that needed to be cached for the first time?

Ok, I have now experienced it again on 2 toons/clients on tq but its not every time I jump or undock, just sometimes.
