I just want to say that many of us appreciate the efforts of CCP to rebalance the game and fix power projection.

This might actually get CCP more re-subs than whiners unsubbing over something which is not even set in stone yet.

Now IF CCP would also introduce a new ship like a heavy bomber/piloted fighter bomber that works pretty much like an upscaled fighterbomber already in game, i.e. very good vs supers, good vs caps, bad vs anything else to discourage the idea of nano, warp speed optimized carrier roams and camps to act as some sort of counter then these changes would actually be awesome!

Maybe cutting the JF a little slack and increasing its range a little above the others but other than that thumbs up CCP.

CCP will not be getting a surge of new and sustained subscriptions for a 10 year old game. The viable strategy for them was to keep the number of subscriptions stabilized, but with Greyscale's fantasies leading to not well thought changes hammering the game's economy (due to his desire to even getting rid of freighters) will lead to quality of life for the average EVE player diminished. The idea that EVE is a MMO game, rather than a second job seems to be evading the band of brain trust led by Greyscale.

Current plateau and stabilization of subscriptions is going to take a nose dive, thanks to Greyscale's fantasy of making null-sec a theme park of enclosed bastions of complete security and safety (close to empire) held by major entities and the rest, either unoccupied or burning down in anarchy.

Greyscale wants everybody to play EVE the way he thinks is good, rather than letting everyone playing it as a sandbox, which is admittedly the best way to put the final nail on a ten year old game's coffin, that used to pride itself on being a sandbox experience.

Planned new feature to address new player movement:

For players less than thirty days old, once per player corporation joined, and
For all players, once a year

You may push a button in your corp interface (while a member of a player corp and docked) that:
- Moves your medical clone to a station designated by your corporation, and
- Automatically moves you to your medical clone

Exact method of corporations designating target station still being ironed out, but it will involve at the very least being able to designate a default station for all corp members, and will likely be allowed for *any* station with a corp office, regardless of system sec status.

This seems to us like it solves the "I want to recruit people to nullsec" concern, and also gives non-nullsec recruiters an easier way to get genuinely new players to the right location easily.

Thoughts? Pasting this into the FAQ and also trying to get it into the blog proper.

This should work for new players and old players who may change a corporation over time.

This change might be good for gameplay and increase the fun in small-scale fights. But it will remove completely the large mega-fights. I for one had my greatest time during B-R, one of those rare moments in EVE that I will cherish as long as I live. Those moments will never come back. Now, there will be more small scale pvp, which is fun, but those fights rarely makes a huge impact as B-R did.

The drive to own supers, titans, JFs and even carriers/dreads will diminish. There will be no real need for having many cyno-alts to support supers, carriers or JFs either. Many veterans refuse to use these ships under the new feature of jump fatigue timers because "reasons". The drive to own null-space will diminish, since the reason to own that space is to get incomes to build said supers and titans. It will affect the online economy, less players, less demand for supers and capitals, less demand for minerals, less demand for jump-fuel, so this will affect the miners and the complete value-chain through producers to end products.

If players want to small-scale pvp, lowsec is the obvious place to live. You can roam lowsec or nullsec and get guud fites. So nullsec will be even fewer than before, and those who stay will be more spread out.

So, there will be fewer players in general, the drive to live i null will diminish for many like me, the large mega-fights that made headlines in The Times will dissapear. EVE will be a less vibrant universe. Sadness.

This will also lead to a quick dip in cash-flow when subsriptions are unsubbed, and in time a dip in overall income and revenues for CCP.

I cincerely hope that CCP considers this change in terms of income, cash-flow and revenues before they give CCP Greyscale a go-ahead to start it. I fear this will deliver a severe blow to CCP economy, forcing layoffs and less new features for the players that remain in-game. THat will also speed up the probable death of this wonderful alternate reality.

This is not the end of EVE. It is not even the beginnig of the end for EVE. But it IS the end of the beginning of EVEs death...

Who have write somehere that 0.0 ARE or MUST be ALL about caps/super cap fight ?
did you really think that will "kill" Eve and 0.0 if a fleet a 500 archons cannot be able to drop anymore anyway in Eve within 15 min ?

i see only change that makes sense , encourage local production in 0.0 by harder logistics due by the shorter JF jump range , etc etc etc

If your dreads are already spoken for, would you mind sending your isk to this character?

Seeing as you wont be needing it, might as well put it to some use, right?

I gave away all my ships to a corp bro back when I had a health scare and retired from actively playing.

This time... Nah I'm taking all with me - like a Station lock from posterity! :P

I live in a wormhole, and I have to say I love the lack of local. There is a real feeling of constantly being watched (probably because someone is always cloaked and watching :) ), and we are forced to actually defend our space. We watch our known wormholes, and are constantly vigilant of new ones opening in our space.

My first real taste of out of empire play was in wormholes. I took my little corp in just a couple of weeks after they came out. This was before w-space got well populated, and before the content was fleshed out enough to keep us from getting bored, so I didn't stay too long. Four months later (and BILLIONS richer) I came ou t and tried to be satisfied with my old hisec playstyle once again. when it wasn't enough I quit for a while than came back resolved to go to null and today I play all over, but I no longer have a tower in my own private wormhole. I think If CCP evergets around to letting us mine the moons there, so I can keep making my beloved T2 products I might just go back.

If these cap changes go through I suspect It won't be long till there is a new BoB. At that point I might just say to h--l with the doughnut and go claw out another little piece of W. Being in the jungle at night is not always fun.... but its NEVER boring......

Eve teaches hard lessons. Don't blame the game for your own failures.

Well...

Since not only me but a freaking loads of other people are equally frustrated then I suggested that
CCP simple ask us how to solve the current "Allians Block politic, large scale stuffy in 0.0" that they so much want to get rid of.

There's gotta be tons of great ideas out there that are WAY better then this one right?

Peopel did that for YEARS before JF appeared. IT is sustainable. You just need a dozen peopel REALLY logged in and not on jabber waiting a ping. You know.. REALLY playing the game.

Let me put this in another context. What happened when the Eve gate collapsed? The easy route for empires to supply themselves fell apart, and the society in the lore utterly collapsed for thousands of years. "Why are you bitching? You can slow-boat to the Eve galaxy."

Anotehr take... arguing that what was acceptable years ago should be acceptable now is extremely foolish. "Bathe downstream of the privy. It's what people did yeas ago." These years ago you speak of, getting 125 guys in a fleet was impossible. Now, it's quite commonplace. How many guys does it take to alpha a freighter? Not many. After a few of those, people will simply stop caring and stop playing.

Jump freighters and some form of fitted subcap carrier HAVE to be excluded, or this isn't going to end well. You don't pinch off a diver's oxygen, then be upset when he doesn't come back with any nice underwater pictures.

Suck it up and encourage industry in your isolated regions, or you are going to stagnate.

Neckbeards don't do other great ideas... only 'their' great ideas exist. So don't hold your breath mate; just unsubb and then they might start rethinking their 'grand strategy'.

CCP, you have acted boldly and decisively. Many people want nothing more than to maintain the status quo. This game needed new life breathed into it, and that you have done. I am more excited about the future than ever. As the CEO of a corp of 80 real people, I pass along to you our collective thumbs up. Stay the course. You know what you have to do, and this is only the first of many needed changes. They will be painful to people but in the long term, essential for this game. The removal of death cloning was needed to avoid an obvious work around, as was applying the change to jump freighters (otherwise they will become a battle taxi and defeat the changes).

Be strong. You have our complete support.
