What was your first WH experience like?,

Haha, oh boy. First experience was when I was barely three weeks old as a pilot. I joined EVE as wormholes hit, all new and shiny.

Day raiding with corp mates in a drake that somehow stayed together, barely fit at all. I think I was doing Level 3 missions or something, so an evening with another drake and getting half the money for that was an awesome pay lift. Nice guys I flew with at that time, consider all I did was get shot at mostly, and warping in and out of sites as fast as I could as my shield was removed for me by sleepers.

I've unfortunately been addicted to wormholes ever since, and done all kinds of random things with them. Living solo (+ alts) in a small POS in a C1 was probably the highlight aside from the above first experience. Particularly as I got visited by a group of very nice capsuleers who proceeded to incap just about everything I brought with me inside an hour of my arriving. Truly epic experience though.

I consider it a point of acheivement that I have never needed to self destruct, despite all the idiotic things I've done in WHs...!

WH space was the only thing my older brother who got me hooked on eve hadn't tried, id been under his wing/shadow for too long and wanted to have my own thing in eve that wasn't copying or following in his footsteps. Scanned and found a c3, after some quick reading I jumped in with a drake, got half way through a site and was jumped by 2-3 tengus, decided I should probably join a corp.

When Apocrypha released my corp was in Initiative Associates and on a steady decline in activity. While ratting one of our directors told us he found a WH in system. A couple of us jumped in and browsed around for a bit, killed some sleepers in a grav site. We immediately grabbed a couple Orcas and filled them with a tower/parts.

We mostly just farmed the Grav sites, because every time we tried to farm a combat site we got rocked. We mined for months in the home hole and statics until billions were made. We left the hole and proceeded to join Vanguard. pushing the rest of our "good" members out of the corp and into other areas of EVE.

I took myself and 2 other members into a C2-c2/lowsec and farmed that for several months. Eventually I was alone in the C2 so I left leaving the PoS an mods behind. Fast forward a little bit, add some more WHing and here I am.

I owned 3 wormholes solo, merely because I wanted to challenge myself. There was a lot to learn, but the isk was ridiculous and I kept all my assets in the wormholes to a minimal. Setting up was fun and the initial isk from radars, mags and the anomalies were crazy as I was going alone.
It was my carebear time and I enjoyed it a lot. In the end I lost it all but I ended up making billions in hindsight. So it wasn't that bad after all. I met a few great people and learned that nothing in space in Eve lasts forever.
I joined the Marmite Collective after my stint with wh's and being a permanent member of Dec Shield while it lasted. I have made many great friends and many myths about me have been disproven. Lastly, when my wormholes were taken, a lot of great fan fiction came from nowhere....you can still find it today. I guess photoshop and an imagination made me look bad for a while, but im back at the top. Thanks for taking the time to read people. xxox

PS : With the changes to probing(monkey can do it) and the slide in ribbon prices...I don't see wh ownership as near as whimsical as it used to be. Ah well.

Joined EVE with the aim of living in a wormhole long term (still is, and only successfully been able to do for a month or so before the hangers were empties and corp disbanded), I tried EVE a couple of times previously for about 1-2 weeks max, but wasn't really able to get into it and see now with most people they get hooked after a couple of times as opposed to from the very first time they tried.

Anyway point is I knew how to use the interface and knew basics of combat so I got straight into it and got talking with a guy who was literally just moving into a wormhole with his small corp(3-4 members) so I thought this was the perfect opportunity, got in the corp and flew over to the highsec system with the entrance (I believe it was a C2, can't remember anymore), flew inside my first wormhole and was extremely excited (this was my first day on a new account as this guy also convinced to create a new account through his buddy affiliate for 50m isk......damn him).

Flew over to the guys who were setting up their POS, and got extremely bored sitting there waiting as they were setting it up, decided to warp to one of the things you can warp to in a wormhole which was a anomaly.. needless to say I got destroyed and swear I got podded too (but now I am not sure if sleepers do actually pop pods? So maybe something completely different happened and there were players, I honestly can't remember). Thought okay this is a very bad idea and will be extremely boring for me so done some researching as to what I can aim towards and fly that can at least kill a single sleeper.

Those guys ended up to be pretty bad corp members and I actually ended up being recruited by the guys who war decced them and spied on them and that all in all turned out really great content to keep me busy while I got some basic skills learned and made sure I didn't get hung up on the typical miner missioner experience (although I've gone through that phase too for a very short time).

So all in all a very negative first experience in terms of living in a wormhole, however as soon as I could fly a drake and cov ops I went straight into day tripping and that was very cool and each one was a great experience which was either me being blown up or just getting stuck in random adventures and journeys inside wh's Lol, anyway that turned into a corp I flew with for a month in a C2 C3/HS static before it broke down as described above and sadly never turned into a long term WH experience. I still day trip every now and then when the opportunity arises but it's fairly hard solo without an alt (and still do a lot of cov ops scanning, and love finding chains to null and back so that's keeping my WH fix sorted in some ways), I actually did a couple of C2 sites last night when a nice C2 opened up in my home system and the owners seemed asleep. It was a little better now with the mobile depots as I could refit and keep a cloak/salvager/scanner on me so could do all on just the drake.

I WILL live in a WH one day.. one day.. it's hard to find the right corp in general and finding the right WH corp seems like a hard task, for now low sec is keeping me very satisfied until the day comes.

I disagree

Did the tutorials, liked scanning. Got a probe. Entered wormhole. Picked a site at random and warped to it. Didn't see anything on overview and turned around to leave. Just before I got in warp, a GIANT ******* LASER puts me 60% into hull. Quit the game for two years.

Eh, just one thing to tell you, you remind me of me.. Anyway, soon or later you WILL live in wormholes but your going to enjoy it if you get into a group of cool people, and the only problem is going to be that you are gonna regret that you didn't actually started living in there before.. Anyway, you can check out the thread Notable wormhole groups..

I remember when I first came out to W-Space with the corp I'd just joined. I was straight from HS mission running and all my PVP experience was a hostile wardec that nobody fought in. I was so scared of logging off out in space (Even inside the POS) that I logged back in 10 minutes later and asked my corp mates to confirm that my ship did actually disappear.

Spent a year with a C2 mining corp, which was cool at the start, learning all the basics of wormholes and stuff. They didn't ever explore the chain and kept the statics closed for a typical carebear sense of security though. One day I decided enough was enough and applied to a corp in Transmission Lost called Cold Moon Destruction. That was when I REALLY started to learn about wormholes. And the rest as they say, is history Smile

I have removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them. Please people, keep it on topic and above all civil!

The rules:
4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not beneficial to the community spirit that CCP promote and as such they will not be tolerated.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

Having said that, my first time ever in -W-space went exactly like this: Scan down wormhole from hs > jump through wormhole > load grid just in time to see Pod hanging beside wreck of own ship > wake up in fresh clone......
Several weeks later I found myself living in a C1. Ah, the memories of days gone by....Blink

Was a newbie to eve back then. Couldn't even do lvl 4 missions. A corpmate mentioned a quick way to get isk mining wh gas. I'd already bought a few plex and decided to buy the gas harveting skillbook. Jumped on a dessie and went out to mine some gas. Didn't even have scanning skills, learned how to make a bookmark & always bookmark the exit, got violenced by some sleepers, learned how to spam dscan, etc etc. Ended up making like 10m isk for a short amount of time involved. It didn't take long before I really looked into WH's & moved into one. Started in a C1 after watching how to setup a tower on youtube.

Lived in WH's ever since & I find K-space wierd.

My old Corp did a lot of research on Sisi before Apocrypha. The day it went live, we scanned down a c2 with c3 static and set up a faction death star that is still standing to this day, nearly five years on.
We ran nothing but C3 anoms with blinged Kronos. W-space was empty in those days. We never lost one except to Corp theft. We made embarrassing amounts of isk because the Corp got into t3 production as well.. Great days. All a bit different now...

Scanned down a C3 in a buzzard, came back to run the sites in a drake.

Friend logged in some time later and decided to tag along with me. After two hours of killing sleepers we warp back to the wormhole and found it had despawned. Ended up self destructing my drake, my friend's megathron, and almost 300 mil in sleeper loot first time out.

Decided we'd live in wspace from that point forward.

I was exploring Great Wildlands and creating bookmarks in my trusty Proteus. It was unusually bad day for me because from countless systems I managed to find only wormholes. When yet another wormhole showed up on my scanners I frowned and opened my fourth beer can to drown my frustration. Then it clicked, I am not sure was it alcohol or just sheer curiosity but I decided to check that wormhole out. I checked my wallet and made sure that I could afford secound Proteus and that I could... just barely.

First thing I noticed after entering though wormhole was that my ships repair ammount was lowered but it didnt worried me since I wasnt planning to engage in combat. After admiring beautiful scene I cloaked up and started to warp around creating safe spots and reading web about system I was in. C5 and nothing on my D-scan. I explored everything I could and found nothing but old customs offices. I wondered if owner of POCO's was still around and checked corporation kill boards and perhaps activity of their members but shortly found out that last time anyone did anything in that corporation was two years ago. According to killboard, they had some major fights and seemd to lost. RPer in my kicked in, perhaps because fourth beer was taking in effect and fifth was getting opened, I started to wonder the story behind that corp and its members. Its glory days of settling wormholes and eventually being brushed away by others.

Since I was already in wormhole, I decided to continue and scanned down another wormhole entrance. This time it was dark and gloomy. It seems I arrived to C5 Magnetar wormhole and my D-scan showed that it was thriving with life and man made structures. One of wormhole residents greeted me and curiouslly asked of my reasons to be in the system. I did not wanted to look like newbie and wave hand just to get it shot off, instead I pretended to be wormhole shark, old timer who roams in Proteus and slay its unsuspected victims. So I did not say anything. I warped around creating bookmarks and secretly stalking its residents for good time and discovered POS with Moros in it. What a sight! It was first time I ever seen Moros in space. Despite flying in null all the time, I never gave thought to see dreadnought. My imagination kicked in and I saw myself cruising in space in Moros, smoking cigar while adjusting my aviator shades and making eveyone jelous. Then someone tackling me and swarm of lesser ships buzzing around me, slowly eating up my armor... I warped to my safe spot and scanned down another wormhole.

Overall, I spent four weeks in wormholes. I didnt do any combat since my ship was exploration fit but had great time learning about wormholes and meeting its residents and important of all... I survived. Bear

Joined a C5/C5 WH corp, got all my crap in (Not much at that time. I was running cap sites in a T1 gun Apocalypse... and my goto PvP ship was a Harbinger/NOmen.)

.. Halfway through my first cap esc.. "New sig guys".
Not one minute later "GUYS, Starbridge have a massive RR Tengu fleet".

Orca was already in warp.. We lost it, but managed to fight them off and go back to farming. \o/

First contact with wormholes has been during my second month of eve. Since missions are fun for around 2days into the game, and the officers of my corp (I G) those days just made an introduction to wormholes for us rookies, decided to just hook up with a friend and dive into the firstbest wh we could find.

Shortly afterwards, I found myself in an oracle, together with him in a myrmidon running sites. During those sites, a drake warped to us att 100k... We have been really confused and our two wh-mentors back in the day (aquila and dem) told us to shoot them. So I did.
The drake warped off, and we decide to investigate in local... Stating we're just here for those anoms - and got told that since we're rookies, we'd be free to do so.

Around a week afterwards, a mail was sent out asking who wanted to join the corp-wh-communoty, so I joined them \ยค/
Those former IG officers formed blue-fire shortly afterwards, haven't left wormholes ever since.

Also, been playing with a dedicated scanner from day 1, always wondering how people manage without one.

It was deadly - within 30 minutes of me moving in:

I wanted to do something and went mining in my Prophecy. Hit D-Scan like I was told to, nevertheless got caught, bubbled and sent back to a new clone.

I was only three months in the game back then and it was over three years ago. Still haven't even considered moving out of WH space.

I am the Herald of all beings that are me.
