This part of EVE is actually broken, because of alts.

You kill me, you should die.

But wait.

You're not just one person, you're two people.

The second person swoops in and takes the cargo and salvage, how nice for him, and he is none the worse for wear.

This second person should get a suspect flag so that an escort ship could take him out before he got away with the goods. Right now you can't even do anything about it without getting killed by CONCORD for protecting that cargo.

he does (IIRC), unless in fleet or corp with the ganker.

Then why aren't people just hiring escorts?

Or using their own alts as escorts, more likely?

If there's nothing you can do about it that's one thing, it's entirely another thing to simply not get the drop on them.

So what you suggesting is for every freighter pilot to hire escorts?Or train more chars for logi supports?Sounds dumb to me

Yes , cause lets invent a new past time more boring then mining... ESCORTING (unless were talking about the other escorting, didn't know you were into that)

I don't often gank.

But when i do, I use my main.

More seriously ganking was easier in the past, not harder. You can't make a huge number of alts without spending more than you would get from just using that RL cash for plex. So you have alts that gank. Then you have kill rights on them etc.

Also IP stuff won't work either. Its trivial to have VPN setting etc so you can have 3-4 different IP numbers. I have 3 from this computer right now.

I got ganked in RL this year. 3 broken ribs and a broken laptop. I got over it. The amount of tears over space pixels is hilarious.

AKA the scientist.

Death and Glory!

Well fun is also good.

Spending weeks in null dodging Goons and then come back to supposedly safe space and its more of the same crap.

There's your problem: Highsec isn't safe, there are just consequences for opening fire on someone without having bribed CONCORD to look the other way.

As for not being able to autopilot? I was doing it constantly, even in industrials carrying around 50-100m ISK in cargo, for about a week (moving my base of operations closer to the FW zone, prior to actually joining FW). Never once got shot at, and I probably made around 20 trips.

Not one single problem in over 400 jumps.

As I said: One IP per person, and all accounts played from that one IP have the same reputation/sec status... but since CCP profits greatly from mutliboxers, it would never happen.

Neverminding the fact that having multiple IP's is pretty damn easy, I would probably quit over that: I've gotten back into FW, and I have no doubt my sec status is going to be dropping on this char, but there are times I'd like to simply step away from that, relax, maybe just shoot the **** with some mates. When I want to do that, I'll hop on my alt, run a few missions, do some industry work, or other things that are more low-key.

The point is that it WON'T be boring unless you don't NEED an escort. IE, gankers are going to gank. They don't need to know you have an escort until after they shoot you. Or, like they said, the escort could gank the gankers before they get you. Scout ahead, see gankers, kill them, then you go through. Etc.

We can make this fun.

It doesn't require any skill or brainpower to PvE in highsec, why should it be the same for PvP? Enjoy your themepark, carebears, you made it what it is today. By using new players and "Fairness" as an excuse to have highsec aggression nerfed, you have insulated your 5-year old PvE alts from war decs, ninjas and can-flippers, prompting them to look for other ways to be belligerent undesirables, as the Marmites call it.

After two years of repeated strengthening of concord and nerfs to aggression under the guise of promoting more pvp, all that's really left is awoxing, bumping and suicide ganking. The first two will probably go away at some point, but the third will remain just because of CONCORD being such a recognized staple of EVE.

CONCORD will keep getting buffed, I'm sure, and suicide-ganking will go from a profession to a punishment as CCP have said, but the diehards will keep figuring out ways to make it happen. Even without a payout, it will continue as a fun pastime. Do you seriously think Goonswarm or Code will never gank another miner if CCP announced tomorrow that CONCORD would blow up any and all wrecks and loot produced by a gank and any ship that loots/salvages them?

No, like you the undesirables have alts pouring in isk for a steady supply of gank-ships. They are but the flip-side of the same coin, using the same methods and mentality as those who profess to despise them. In the past, this group was somewhat dispersed among ninjas, can-flippers and war-dec ransomers.

But that's been taken away. Now they're all funneling down into ganking and you're surprised to see such a resurgence of throw-away destroyer alts? Many of the undesirables do what they do because they didn't like carebearing or the joke of station games/blobs/structure grinds that's "Real PvP."

Some of them undoubtedly quit. Mission accomplished, pat yourself on the back CCP you've sold more highsec accounts to botters, multiboxers and macro-users and have inflated PLEX to three times what it was two years ago, but others have taken it under the chin and turned to other ways to keep playing the game they love. They're playing the game that the community has created, and if the community wants nothing but suicide alts reminding them of their mortality, who are you to complain? It's their play style.

Fun fact: if a carebear ever begins a statement with, "All play styles should be valid in EVE," they're really saying, "I don't want to have to deal with other people in a multiplayer game." Do I hate people who PvE only and never PvP? Of course not. It's their choice.

Nah... it's acttually like: How many potential players never even start the game because of everything they read/hear about it...

Actually I like this. We play in a universe akin to the "wild west," so someone riding shotgun makes perfect sense to me. We have transport companies, now we just need armored car companies. +1 for a good idea.

Look, all I'm saying is that I should be able to autopilot billions in cargo all over highsec between my very important elite PvP engagements. I am very inconvenienced by the type of gameplay some of you are engaged in, here.

What you really mean by armored car is an ubertanked freighter

concord is the police

Yeah, ubertanked freighter just means that you won't get shot at.

And move slower.

I'd rather have an escort kill everything for me.
