You mean the ones that go free 2 play in a matter of months, because they've been ruined by morons with ideas like yours?

Name the games with arenas that have millions of players. You can exclude World of Warcraft, it is not the norm, it is an outlier, and its subs are falling, 10-15% down last time I looked.

I'd also like to see how Tennis, a game played with between 2 (singles) & 4 (doubles) players on the court (field of battle) at a time, is relevant to Eve, a game where between 2 and 4000 people can be on the field at a time. The only commonality is the number 2.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

As for the additional resources solving the problem - sure. Worked great for SWTOR, worked great for Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer, will work great here. Maybe you should sum up your thoughts on the issue in an open letter to CCP's CEO, explaining how he's handling his game all wrong, I'm sure even guys in suits can use a laugh now and then.

the tennis comparison sure was too much for you

Indeed, that someone could come up with the idea to argue "it works for tennis, so it should work for online games" strongly taxed my ability to trust what my eyes were reading.

it was a reverence that gameplay is important nothing more, use your brain

Yes, gameplay is important. You just ignore the fact that a significant number of failures in the MMO market during the last years have shown that gameplay alone isn't enough to create long term motivation in the MMO market. Italic, bolded, underlined, and if I could make it blink I would. This isn't about Tennis, Jenga, Monopoly, Soccer or even Online-Shooters, it's about MMO's. There have been a large number of MMO's that were praised for their innovative gameplay during the first few months that subsequently bled players like a slaughtered pig because in the MMO market innovative, jump into the fray gameplay action isnt enough.

He doesn't care, he wants to be able to jump straight into a 500 v 500 man battle for a few months and then bugger off to the next big thing, leaving whatever game him and his ilk have just left to wither and die.

I, for one, refuse to let people like him kill a game I've invested years into, just so they can get instant jollies for a few months. Not on my watch, and judging from the majority of posts not on anybody elses either.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

it is enough to attract players, after that they switch to the metagame if that provides what is needed, however if the metagame only consists of holding you back and never giving you what you want, the people just come back because of that and not because of the gameplay... for the long run thats never a ideal situation

wow now your posts got to a new low, close to getting blocked now

Do you present the 90% PVE as a fact, or was it a counter-argument to "EVE is a single-shard, persistent open world MMO"?

And how old are you btw?

just look at the map, who gets killed, its PvE ships, not PvP, the ratio is 90% for sure

Ok, so you claim that 90% of all kills are PVE ships "for sure".

Isn't about time for him to claim an IQ of 150 and a job involving the purchase and planning of €100,000,000 again? *his words not mine, although I would love to see who was dumb enough to employ him to do such a thing.

tens of thousands pirate ships destroyed each day, vs. 10-20 PvP ships on average... per system! nullsec is no different!

You mean NPCs, not PVE ships. Yes, you are correct, many times more NPCs die in EVE. Any player can kill hundreds of NPCs in an hour. If I get 5 kills per a solo roam, I'm very happy and call it a good night.

What this actually tells that NPCs are trivially easy to kill (even miners add to that total by just having scout drones out), and players are hard to kill.

It doesn't tell that 90% players are doing PVE.

Aunia is hisec, btw.

That would be great.. it is a little sad that after 19 pages of people telling you arenas does not fit in this game what so ever you still do not understand.. you have some real issues my dear Harry.. some real serious issues.

There are three options for you right now

1. Join FW or RVB and get into fights quick (frigate/cruiser fights)
2. Quit the game because it does not offer what you want, nor are the developers going to give it to you
3. Shut up and keep playing, maybe start understanding what EVE is and why these kind of changes would never fit in this sandbox.

I disagree

PvE ships are ships flown by players engaged in PvE, PvP ships are ships flown by players engaged in PvP, NPC ships are referred to as rats or NPCs.

Before you start calling people stupid you should learn the nomenclature that is in common use in the game that you're playing, although in your case learning seems to be a foreign idea.

honestly you got no clue how the people play the game, nullsec is even worse, the ratio even higher, they spend 99% of the time killing rats, only a handfull of players do PvP, just check the ratio on the map there, and wake up
