Making a gank cost something

All that the tags do is give tag farming carebears a way to profit from ganking without all the trouble of ganking someone. The tags don't change anything about the fundamental sec status cost of ganking. The only difference is that now anyone can farm sec status to supply those who need it, including you.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

Here's a little story with little (though some) relevance.

Last night I was ratting in Aridia for tags. Aridia (for those who don't know) is a patch of low with a few high sec systems in it between Delve and Fountain.
Often, TEST move crap through Aridia and their JFs and Carriers can often be seen at various stations.

Occassionally, Goon spotters and general wandering types are also seen keeping tabs on those movements.
So there I was ratting in my PVE fit low sec ratting BS.
A TEST Cheetah was on scan. Now, this was one jump from a regular TEST fuelling point so I didn't really think much of it, but kept an eye on D-Scan, Local and Grid as usual.

A few minutes later it decloaks and drops cyno. So I align to my POS and await hot drop oclock. There it is, a Panther, and I assume 4 SBs (didnt actually look too hard as I was spamming warp at the time). They lock and attempt to point, and fail.


I warp out.

So rather than actually take part in their own war, TEST would prefer to fail at ganking neutrals.
Maybe they should eat a Snickers.

You know as well as I do they can't eat a Snickers, their arms are too short to reach their mouth!

If you haven't tried ganking someone yourself - then you are not qualified to speak as to the real cost needed.

Tags didn't change ganking at all. No ganker cares about being -10 or not, as they get by just fine like that as they always have.

If we are going down the real life argument route then I have to point out the pirates had tea with the queen of England and were rewarded with money, land and titles.

You're also aware that being -10 isn't a bar to ganking either, I presume?

The game mechanics fawor the gankers way more than they do the victims and I still stand behind my statement that it is just plainly wrong when it happens in empire the way it happens.

how much does a ganking catalyst cost? 2-3 mil? thats pocket change for an experienced player. dedicated gankers also dont need to care about sec status, they have an highsec alt in an orca which holds their ganking ships.

it takes more than 1 catalyst. every ganker is another alt that has to be funded

Sure it does but for an alliance it doesn't mean anything. Like you Goons, you fund our ganking for fun and tears from your nullsec operations. For the people who don't have an alliance to support them or they don't know any better it is an unfair advantage and simply wrong.

And actualy I know how to get rif off this ganking in empire business.

CCP please make opening a can that is not yours CONCORDABLE! thank you.

Ok it will not stop ganking but it will make it less of a profession that it is right now.
