My launcher stalled at update mode as well this morning. I executed the EVE repair application (you find it in your EVE folder), and it detected a missing block in the launcher file and corrected it. After this the launcher worked as intended again.

As per my message in the main feedback thread here, if you're having problems with it downloading an installing the update, you can manually do so by using this link, and pointing the installer at your EVE installation.

Having to manually update an auto-updating launcher is so pro. I guess that would be why CCP is still considered "indie game developer".

Isn't the monthly sub intended for the development of code and features that work? Roll

A manual update that allows the launcher to forget usernames, too. So pro.

Tried both methods and the launcher still crashes. Anything else to be done?

Launcher just sits there displaying this message at the bottom:

(3/4): APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_540656-540656_WIN.PATCH: 100.0%

Play button stays greyed out.

I tried the repair tool and all the suggestions in the OP, no help.

I may have found a work around.


What I did was...


1. Repaired the client.
2. Applied the patch after desperately trying to use the .exe's to load the clients (Failed repeatedly).
3. Tried logging in using the English section, no luck.
4. Downloaded the patch from the CCP Post above this one, (EVEOnline_2_1_545736.exe)
5. Tried to login again with English, failed.
6. Attempted to login with the German Language, instead of English. Actually logged into the game.
7. Changed the language in game from German, to English, I restarted the game.
8. Switched my language from German, back to English. Logged back in, game was in English.


I'd love it if someone tested my theory on this. Possibly refine it.

Yes english is selected as my language.

This is currently being investigated by CCP as part of the network issues which resulted in unscheduled downtime.

Same here- it's possible to log in setting the language to german (which - despite German being my native language is absolutely terrible, but if you just quickly want to update a skill or so it should work).

I can't get the launcher to start, period. I can work the game via the exe in the bin folder, but the launcher itself starts in the background and stops within 3 seconds. No errors, no graphical change, no nothing. If I spam run it, it'll state that two instance of the launcher cannot run in the same directory.

As of downtime just gone I can no longer use any accounts to log in via the launcher. On every account it tells me Invalid username / password and every time that comes up it changes the account I am trying to log in to.

I can't have been hacked on every account and password changed in the last 30 minutes so what went wrong? Would like to log in now...

I gotta bug today.
When i put in my login and my passwort and click to login (or use enter) i got the following Error Message:

i tried to activate autoplay but the error is still there

I cleared my game cache via the louncher settings and now i can login

now i am at that startup screen like we used to have before new launcher and i get this message :The authentication token provided by the launcher is of an invalid format. Please try again or contact EVE customer support when i press connect
