Launcher not working? - LOOK HERE

I liked the old method. The launcher is , well..

UNDERWHELMING.

When you have some front end interface, that I certainly NEVER asked for, that prevents me from playing a game I pay for, should not I be reimbursed for my lost game time including the time needed for workarounds??

I didn't screw this up, CCP did.

Woke up early, started EvE (connected? I don't know). Launcher updates and works, game starts, update my Skill queues in time (phew!).

Settings and stuff are all gone, but I'll sort that later. Bear

Still getting python error here. socket.py fails if i get it correctly.

First it didnt work at all.. then i saw the cool new interface with my error message 03DC68A2-AC00-4693-B1E3-24223F200605
NOW after doing this the launcher is broken. YAYYYYYYY skills arnt training anymore //////wrists

UPDATE!!! eve.exe was not working while running from the install folder.. i had to use the (shortcut to launcher) in install folder..
now working

I personally have no experience of that error, I only had python errors and fixed it by manually putting everything place didn't even need to run repairer, but I think your best choice is to keep running repair.exe at least 5 times first and if all else fails try reinstalling the whole client again. Go check manually that all files are removed then doing uninstall so you get fresh install.

strange that the sisi is doing the exact same thing. I didn't mind that though because the changes on sisi are a joke and I wanted to play eve before it turns into an xbox game.


Nevermind I reinstalled the launcher patch and it solved everything and is working.

You can never simulate exact live situations.

You can simulate the load.
You can simulate different access patterns.

But there is always the possibility something somewhere decides to quit working.

Just a reminder for people to try simply running the repair tool first.

I had no problem with the launcher when it first released but today it threw up an odd error, like the one people are describing. Anyway.. I tried the fixes in the OP first to no avail, only to find that all I needed to do was run the repair tool once.

Whelp, my launcher still reckons that it's in offline mode. I'm slightly concerned this means I'll only be able to play untill the next patch as I can't connect to the launcher to download any updates.

0/10 who's great idea was this anyway?

Why in gods name do we need a "work around"? The old system worked fine yet in your infinite geek minds you though somehow a new launcher that needs work arounds is a improvement. Why not just give us a choice between the old one and the new one like we wound up having after the Captains Quarters debacle? This having to accept the EULA every time we launch is pretty stupid. Whatever happened to "The need for speed"?

Big smile None of the workarounds to fix the broken launcher worked for me so I eventually resorted to finding the exe file in my CCP/EVE/bin folder and it launches me straight to the game login, no busted crappy launcher, I pinned it to my start and Im up and running!
BTW thnx for the wasted time CCP, you are beggining to seem more like another crappy company I used to subscribe to any more of this garbage and Im going back to Guild Wars2, i.e. start listening and acting on what your paying customers want!
