Can't enter the first site. No problem with second.
This is bad luck, in 11 minutes my main finish training and this one should resume his training... ¬¬

EDIT: Can enter first site but is slow-as-hell.

Can we get a global update to all CCP "The internet is unavailable" messages to "We probably screwed something up, but it's faintly possible that your internet is down, so please check that too."

1) Still loading after 5 minutes
2) "This service is unavailable"

I can bypass the launcher to get to the login screen, but when I do it says:

Server: Tranquility
Status: Incompatible (protocol)

When I try to log on anyway I get:

Connection Failed
Incompatible (protocol)

Got exact same, "incompatible protocol" message when running the exefile.exe

Guys, I had the same issue. I was playing then relogged to switch toons and it did the update and Bam! Offline mode :(

Anyways, I used this work-around by going this route, my computer> local disk> program files (x86)> CCP> Eve> Bin> then run the Exefile.

Basically it by-passed the launcher and took me straight to the log-in screen. Which is damn lucky as I only had minutes with which to activate a plex on one of my toons :)

Hope this helps

I think I'm less upset that the launcher is broken for myself, and so many others, and far more perturbed at this notion that the two EVE Devs who are monitoring this thread not only don't understand what the problem is, but have not helped at ALL to fix it.

The two linked posts in the beginning of the thread link to two posts that are not solutions to the problem.

Both dev-supplied links do load in Firefox, but only after *SEVERAL* minutes

repair.exe produces the following, even with admin rights:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "repair.py", line 303, in module
File "updateSelf.pyc", line 85, in UpdateSelf_nt
File "updateSelf.pyc", line 15, in ReadUpdateInfo
File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 231, in GetRepairInfo
File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 143, in SafeUrlOpen
urllib2.URLError: urlopen error timed out: 'http://client.eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt'

Attempting to run exefile directly produces protocol (incompatible).

Manually downloaded new launcher, it complains that it is unable to determine remote build number.
Ping time to client.eveonline.com:
Pinging client.eveonline.com [87.237.39.166] with 32 bytes of data:

Manually browsing to http://client.eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt, produces a text/plain page containing the single sentence: The service is unavailable.

Go to your eve directory ( where you save your eve files) mine is located here: D:\CCP\EVE\bin

In the bin folder, click and run the eve exefile; should say that exact name. It has the old launcher. Works every time for me. Try it and see if it works. If so please plus 1 here and provide feedback.

Same issue here. None of the posted fixes worked for me. Can't get in at all even though apparently 30,000 others have...

[EDIT]: Running the repair tool twice as an administrator finally worked for me.

I just logged in after having the same issues.

First - Run the repair tool

Second - Navigate to and run the following EXE - CCP\EVE\Bin\ExeFile
