Eve launcher v1.32

Ah, there's the problem then. Version 1.32 is the current EVE Launcher. The new one we're testing requires you to install it (please read the first post in this thread, detailing this). As such, you're logging into the new landing page, and expecting the old EVE Launcher to magically know what to do with the credentials. This doesn't work, which is why you're having to do it twice.

I"m still stuck at "100% Validating Data..." indefinitely on both of my computers. Both run Win8 x64 and the new launcher v2.1.528861-beta.3

I have also redone the SiSi directories two times on each.

EDIT: success! It no longer hangs at 100% validating after I restarted. No clue why that would matter, I had restarted before. However, now my download speed is 0kb/s and I'm stalled at 1%

The patch downloading process keeps stalling for me.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Path: D:\Games\CCP\EVE\Singularity
Launcher version: v2.1.528861-beta.3

EDIT: Looks like errors are occurring while updates are downloading.

Same here, tries to start downloading and then goes down to a speed of 0 and after a while reports that download failed.

For your information: After your useful feedback and some additional in-house testing we could reproduce the instability issues with the downloading and updating. We are going to release a new beta version of the launcher at some point tomorrow which is going to address these issues.

Is the new launcher going to remember usernames?

That would be handy. Most browsers nowadays have the option for auto-fill for input boxes such as these and since the launcher is HTML5, I think it may be possible. Not sure how much work it would take though.

I don't care how much work it takes. Don't release it until it's ready, and unless it can remember usernames it isn't ready.

From the unsupported OS (32-bit) with wine:

The installer threw an exception but launcher came up on when I ran it.
Links in installer seemed to work, and I could log in on front page but the status bar froze at 100%, and the play button did nothing. A second try gave an error on loading server info - same as After Shok had reported

I did check the launcher_old to verify the install was ok, logged in normally.
Log file was rather large, pastebin choked on it.

On linux the installer crashes between unpacking files and starting the installation.
Crash message: http://pastebin.com/Lb8VgwHt

When I try to start eve.exe (i.e. with command "wine explorer /desktop=SiSi_Rammix /home/rammix/Games/Eve\ Online\ Singularity/eve.exe /server:Singularity") it throws this: http://pastebin.com/EpQQxVtV

wine version: 1.5.29
OS: Linux openSUSE 12.2

OpenSUSE Leap 42.1, wine >1.9

Only two things I really dislike about the new launcher layout (should be platform Independent, but I'm using Windows 8 x64):

- The "PLAY" button appears clickable (including mouseover feedback) while the launcher still validates/patches. It just doesn't react to clicking, which can be confusing if you don't know about this fact.

- When asking for the character name, the button to proceed is on the right, where it's rather common to have the button to proceed on the left and the button to cancel on the right (unless we're talking about back/Forward in a wizard style application). This is really confusing to me.

I think the server name has to be all lowercase, but anyway it seems like the new patcher doesn't know the server by name. I couldn't login with "/server:singularity". Try it using "/server:87.237.38.50".

Your log looks like it's trying to modify some other directory to be honest and somehow getting confused by those weird directory names (those escaped in the log). Not sure that's something wine specific though.

We've just deployed a new version of the launcher which should address a lot of issues people have with downloading and updating. It also speeds up a lot of things. However, since there are also changes to the website required that is running in the launcher, then there might be some intermediate hick ups until that is deployed, most notable you won't be able to start the client. But rest assured, this should be resolved shortly. I'll keep you posted.

Hello Aporia,

Currently the old launcher is not working, neither downloading the new version.

Also the link on the first post is broken so I'm unable to download the new version (531588)

The old version I have is: 528861

Hi,

the download link should be working now. Also the new website was deployed so the Play button should work nicely.

What exactly is not working with the old launcher, though?

The old version was not downloading the latest path, so I couldn't connect. It may have been linked wth the website change.

Just installed the latest launcher version and seems to work fine. Currently updating the client, also I hope that in the future the ammount of resources needed for the updates will be reduced.

Thank you :)

Hold on, now that I've actually been able to boot up the main game, I have a couple of questions:

1. Are you serious? I can't log in multiple players at once with this launcher. I have to log out an account to log another one in. Did you consider how many people dual box or triple box multiple instances of Eve? I can't do that with this setup.

2. Are you going to fix the above? Because if you don't you will get a huge backlash...

3. Shouldn't it be designed to accomodate multi-boxers, instead of making it harder to multi-box?

It's my standard command to start TQ client, for every day (I actually never play eve on windows). Only the way to the TQ client is different.

I don't know what's different today, but the new launcher (beta3) works perfectly on both my computers.

I think the launcher updated for me without showing any progress. The progress bar just stayed grey, then the launcher disappeared and didn't reappear (no process running anymore). Had to start it a second time (Windows 8 Pro x64; "C:\Spiele\Eve Online (Singularity)\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50"). The new Version is 2.1.531588-beta.3.
