In the spirit of idea generation, would anyone care to start a thread in Features & Ideas Discussion about the sorts of tools the community might like to see in order that they have more control over content? It's probably a little off topic here.

It would be a waist of our time and yours because there have been multiple threads with ideas and suggestions.

Just do your best to get this project moving again and you will get the community support you want eventually.

A year is a long time to wait so it's probably better that you don't talk about wis from now on as all you're doing it **** teasing IMO.

In the spirit of Alien, and the aforementioned PVE experience in Dust, Rogue Drone hunting? I'm not sure what, if any, sort of combat you have planned for WIS, but involving rogue drones seems to be a convenient way to add a pve combat experience, or sleeper drones...since you guys seem to like wormholes.

Heh, I suddenly got a weird clash of Incarna/Diablo/Minecraft images in my head.

I do like the idea of going through an outpost, and having your friends picked off by drones.

Your "demands" are 1 out of n amount of players who all have their own demands with equal value to yours. What you consider a "freakshow" might be interesting and/or exciting gameplay to other people. Just saying it more loudly and stamping your feet doesn't mean you are more right than them.

25,000 net Cancelled Subs say that Incarna wasn't popular.

That's some loud foot stomping.

25,000 - do you have a link to where CCP says they lost 25,000 accounts?

the last thing we need is tools that let players start mod'ing this game until it's just completely out of hand. an example that comes to mind is the custom skins that seem to be coming our way. I'm all for custom skins on my ship, but with realistic EVE colors to choose from. I swear if i start seeing pink fuzzy or zebra striped ships flying around i'll dump my 5 accounts and never look back.

I seem to remember that CCP stated that they are going to be very inactive in regards to WIS because they seem to not know what the players would like them to do with it. I think partly because they are trying to think of a way to effectively implement a huge station environment for us to interact in and how do they fill the open space.

Some things to think about here:

1.) we got the new character creator which gave us a full body feel
2.) then we got the captain's quarters but we were stuck in it. when logically, you should dock and be in your ship, then be given the option to enter your captain's quarters if you want to. we had to fight to get the hangar back, protest even. when we got it back, it seemed CCP had the attitude that they gave us something stupid (in their eyes) back that the players wanted so badly. TO ME, I wanted it back because of the immersion of the transition from space to captains quarters. I'd argue now that we should have a brief cinematic that shows our character leaving the pod and arriving on the platform (as previous teaser videos advertised) AND we should have the option in our game settings to turn that off. So my point here is that how much people were screaming for ship spinning back because they love their hangar, my support of that had another purpose as well. smooth transitional immersion to the captain's quarters.
3.) we got all racial captains quarters and they look awesome IMO

So now CCP seems like they do not know what to do next. well let's do something simple instead of something large.
If we have a corporate office in a station, give us a CORPORATE OFFICE to walk around in, only with our corporation mates.
Give us a "situation room" that we can use for planetary interaction and control, add support for DUST 514 there as well.
Give us the option to set the office access to different levels "some may only want the directors and CEO of their corp allowed in this room to keep it from getting too crowded". Give us the "invite to" option "captains quarters" and/or "corporation office"
you could also make it so this feature is only allowed for a Corporate Headquarters so each corporation only gets one of these rooms. This would be a player corporation only option.

This would be a nice little step in the right direction.

It occurred to me that these "hazardous exploration sites" may end up being the first area in the game where walking avatars can interact with each other. This brings up the odd idea that these sites could be kept from de-spawning (by keeping at least one person there) and used by role players as meeting areas.

Team Avatar, maybe just providing meeting areas rather than having the players re-purpose exploration content would be better?

Agree with the other post

A big CQ for corp , and alliance mates , it would be great !! and most of all if CCp doesn't know what to do

Structure To infiltrate : On a structure ( station, Pos, etc etc ) instead of DOCK , Infiltrate or you can keep the dock and the Ship become the player with ( armor, hull, shield ) just tranform the ship in avatar . and it will be ok.

Just imagine In WH some Old structures you can infiltrate to acquire some special items ( salvage parts for TecH3 BS ( maybe )
etc etc So muc much to imagine

CCP it's time to remove Off Grid Boost and Put Them on Killmail too, add Logi on killmails .... Open that damn door !!

you shall all bow and pray BoB

The CSM were actually given a live demo of the prototype running, showing several devs from Team Avatar venturing into an abandoned station, getting killed trying to get loot. They thought it was pretty cool.

Confirming that we did see a neat demo from Team Avatar. I personally think it has some great possibilities, and I urged (and continue to urge) CCP to share their ideas with all of you as early as possible. There should be a few more details in the upcoming CSM summit minutes as well.

I would urge CCP to not turn WiS into FiS on foot and give people tools to build worlds rather than weapons to shoot each other, just in case that the people who don't shoot each other were a majority of the player base and CCP was essentially wasting them with all the combat PvP bullshit. Roll

Supposedly there is a "Team Avatar" (5 people) working on something, and a Dev blog about it that is finished, but its publishing got delayed by the UI mess.

The few Dev comments we have gotten is it will involve cooperative game play in a hostile environment. Something like we saw in one of the trailers with people in space suits exploring ruins. I presume part of the "cooperative" part is having protection so your ship does not get stolen while you are walking about.

This is still en-route and I'm currently trying to unclog the pipes that are holding the dev blog up. It's been delayed for so long now I'm going to update the pictures on it to something that's more representative of the current state of things!

You're correct though the gameplay we've been prototyping is based around cooperative gameplay in a hazardous environment. You'd be cooperating both in space and in the structure you were all walking around in though and there would still be the potential for conflict with other people in the structures you are exploring.

We're pretty excited about what we've come up with internally.

fighting in stations...

I'm sorry, but I won't be doing that until I see more details from them. We saw a demo, and heard some ideas. I think it is great that CCP is doing the prep work to make sure that the thing that they build this time is an actual *game* and not just a tech demo with Microtransactions. I think CCP is on exactly the right track with their Incarna development, which is that they are doing a lot of thinking and a lot less production. Once they get buy in from their management, the CSM and most of all from the playerbase, they should put it into full scale production. Even when they do that, they need to keep in mind that they cannot nearly abandon spaceships in the meantime.

Don't really mean to shift any development, just get team avatar moving forward. I really don't expect to much of anything to happen until after Dust is released anyways.

I just literally don't have 5 years to wait for this. Anything that would help them get this out in say 2 years would be lovely; I think I'll still be well enough in that amount of time.
