If you can't even be bothered to read the posts you're replying to it would seem you would qualify as being too disinterested to have a valid opinion on the matters contained in them. Please see your way out and take your content-less opinions with you.

I too would vote for him again if there was another election.

Only because he still represents my interests as a player of eve-online.

The fact that he got drunk and made an inappropriate comment does not change this.

Interesting how the only mention of Titan nerfs in any of these MittaniGate threads are in accusations such as this.

well it's the only way we can defend such actions. I mean really..or it could be tinfoil hat time, or possible, wait for it, the trurth behind such delayed reactions to the Alliance panel 3 days ago.

Occam's Razor would suggest otherwise. Is all this outcry a massive conspiracy of revenge against a game nerf, or is it actually because of the outrageous event they say it is?

The simplest answer tends to be the correct one.

Quote:
hey are you a spy? I am just wondering, becase you seem to be hiding your real main and I can't figure out why.

This is my main. I keep telling people this, but they refuse to believe that a new player could be this informed about the game...as if reading, listening to some E-UNI lectures, and watching the FanFest stream is hard. I'm done trying to convince people otherwise.

Besides, I lack the lying skill necessary to be a convincing spy and I don't really have the desire to be that kind of a player. I'm more of a "carebear", I think you guys call it.

Bullshit. I've said some really dumb things while drunk and had to fess up for them. I'd be willing to bet lots of money that you think bad things about people and don't say them out loud for fear of hurting the person's feelings or other repercussions. Drinking removes that filter

It doesn't make you a terrible person. Everyone thinks these things, not everyone is in front of a crowd of thousands when they're drunk and they say dumb ****.

Mokanor Lenak wrote:
Excuses of role-playing and not remembering, only makes it more sad.

Apology does not make it alright. You deserve a few smacks on the head with a crowbar for the way you acted.
Most likely the villain in-game overtook the "nice person" in real life.

You just contradicted yourself and then suggested basically killing the guy IRL. Bravo!

Quote:
CCP should have just throw the ban hammer to make an example of what not to do, but most likely they are too scared, and so prefer the "apologize so we can get this over with" routine.

I'm going to guess there was very little communication here with CCP during his flight home.

Look, I've hung out with the guy in real life, I'm indirectly responsible for HIS PUPPY (I have the same breed of PUPPY!) and I'm 100% certain this apology is real and from the heart. I hate to break down his internet persona but Mittens is a genuinely nice guy and he just let the internet persona go to his head. I've done this, I bet half of you reading this have done it too.

I really, REALLY hate to quote any work of fiction here, but ... "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

Being drunk does not make you a bad person, but how you act does. Being the "villain" in-game is a reflection of your own personality which you hide in real life with friends but in fantasy you wish to be. If you enjoy being the villain in a fantasy game, there is a reason for that in your own true self.
Personally I'm playing a decent person in-game, in the same way I'm trying to be out-game.

Also mr. mittens didn't say that in-game, which is why your whole argument falls apart.
He said it on stage, in front of people and youtube, clearly stating "go make this guy kill himself".
Not in-game, not under "the mittens" persona. Him, himself, in real life.

And also: Deserve something and actually telling people to maker person X to kill himself, are two different things.
And its not like he said "kill bad people because they are bad people". He actually said to abuse someone enough to push him over the edge.
See the difference?

I agree, that's why he gave the dude over 10b isk (all the isk in his - the mittani's wallet).

There's not much more he can do to show that he is genuinely apologetic for offending anyone.

If he did that thats commendable. Now let him repair the bad press damage. There is only one logical option imo.

I don't think you know half as much about PR as you think you do. Please dazzle us with your credentials.

No, you said that there was only one logical option. Insinuating that you are an expert and that the only logical option is the option you feel is best.

Sweet, you "see" only one solution. This would imply that 1) since you only see one option that, for you, only one working solution exists. and 2) that you have some sort of perspective to make that opinion matter to the point that your solution would resolve the "PR Crisis."

So, yes, you would appear to be claiming a level of expertise on the matter. If not then your "opinions" are without weight. Weighing in on topics based on your own ignorance is just stupid speculation and based solely on your own biases.

Yep I saw only one option too. I wouldn't have sent the dude 10 b isk though, that was just dumb. He did apologize though so I'm satisfied. I suppose there will be those out there who aren't satisfied for a variety of reasons. Some just don't like him, they won't be satisfied until they've milked this of every bit of political go juice they can.

Some are really just mad as hell that in a game where people scam and ruin each others gameplay as an advertised matter of the sandbox, somebody can just send an overly emotional letter like that threatening out of game repercussions (suicide) over in game actions and do this with impunity. I think CCP really needs to consider BANNING THE PERSON WHO SENT HIM THIS LETTER IN THE FIRST PLACE.

You do realize that Occam's Razor has such a stupidly large decision matrix so as to make it a poor basis for any sort of concrete decisionmaking right?

People calling him to step down from something that had absolutely no relevance in what was said or the location of where it was said. It was said on an informal panel. If this was said while he was conducting business as CSM chair during a CSM meeting, then yeah he should be stepping down. Ya know what? This wasn't a CSM meeting.

You people calling him to step down are all people who are butt hurt that 10k people wanted him as the csm, and you can't believe that any one person could get so many votes, so you call for his head from a situation that had nothing to do with the csm. Face it, you suck at Eve politik, and can't take it, so you are heart attacking all over the place because of it.

It's actually funny how the society of pubs in this game react like this, it just shows why none of you would even be considered to be in the CFC, and shows that the CFC are way more mature about it than you all are, who you yourselves perceive to be the Virgin Mary who could do no wrong.

Face it, this boils down to petty jealously over a man who has the same ideals about the game as 10k other people do. How petty.

What hour of need? This is not some bullshit crisis. Mittens didn't **** or murder anyone. No one's lost any life, limb or eyesight, no one's lost any money. A few pubbies got butthurt over something that The Mittani said. They took the words of someone they didn't like and used it to fuel a fire that had no right being stoked in the first place. Mittens apologized for a casual offhand remark, the remark's recipient had no knowledge and give no ***** about it. No harm, no foul, move along, go back to bitching about the Titan nerf and how non consensual PvP doesn't belong in high sec.

Titan nerf, what do I care?

Of course non-consensual pvp should always be a part of hisec.

I have never said otherwise.

I brought nothing that wasn't publicly available. I was not the first on this board to link to that thread, which is how I found it in the first place.

Out of respect towards your request, The Mittani and his family, I will refrain from doing so again in the future.

Yesterday his followers were like "he did nothing wrong" with a smattering of "my ceo" and "10058" ... today they are "we love you" and "apology accepted my chairman".

Will you drink the koolaid when he starts handing it out? Looks like it.

So does Mittens, thus the apology. I believe it was heartfelt and I'm pretty damn sure we won't be seeing him do this again. That aside he's done a good job as CSM and I see no reason why he can't continue in this role. Also those of you saying he should step down as chair are kinda dumbos. The role is a made up role that has no power at all. Might as well say he needs to step down as princess cloudbloom of the fairy kingdom.
