With the huge expansion EVE: Ascension arriving on Nov 8, we will see the introduction of the eagerly awaited new Engineering Complexes.

We will get a new set of service modules that will expand research and manufacturing support to the entire line of Upwell structures. These service modules will be fully compatible with existing Citadel structures. Simultaneously, Upwell will be releasing a new set of Engineering Complex structures which are bonused for optimal performance with these service modules.

All details are now available in the new blog Building Dreams: Introducing Engineering Complexes

:Edit: Thanks to your feedback, we've made a big set of updates to the design which can be seen here. :Edit:

Second!

Will the rigs for these XL be cheaper than keepstar rigs? (T2 rigs*)

First page!

-edit-

Why exactly is a Citadel more expensive and less vulnerable then a Complex? I would think that a Citadel would have the longer timer...

I would rather shove manufacturing rigs on a Astrahus go insanely focused and be done with it!

-edit 2-

I've been living on the new Rigs chart. Why is each ship type separated?

I don't understand the point of that, why not have separate Rigs for T1 Subcap, T2 subcap. Then have separate Rigs for Capitals. Why break it down so there's separate Rigs needed for each ship class?

I can see the ammo, drones, modules and etc. But why separate the ships?

This is going to put massive pressure on materials for a while, which would make mining and salvage very profitable. But general production will be hit for these new Structures and over specialized Rigs...

-edit 3-

Also the fuel costs are completely insane. You're supposed to be attracting us to these structures.

Currently it's costs me 10 fuel blocks an hour to run a small POS that can do manufacturing basically everything (in my case Frigates, Drones and Modules.) Now it'll cost me twice that amount, or 1.5x the amount depending on what structure I want to invest in.

I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it!

Edit - looking at the anchoring restrictions. Why not make it so you can anchor an Engineering Complex near your Citadel? Maybe 200km away? As far as I am concerned, the defenses on the Engineering Complex are kind of pointless and might as well not exist. I would, however, love to see little space cities with Engineering Complexes artfully arranged around a Citadel. The Citadel can primarily function as the defense hub for the Engineering Complexes. Obviously, you still need a proper fleet for any kind of determined enemy, but it would look nice.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I'm still reading the dev blog, but I want to offer my appreciation for the cost of the new engineering complexes compared to the list of ships that can dock at them. It is a surprisingly elegant solution; I'm very impressed.

Towers aren't going anywhere for now, as they still have functionality that new structures don't yet offer.

Rest assured that you'll be informed when we're closer to reaching feature parity!

CCPLz can we have the tables and spreadsheets in devblog as actual tables and spreadsheets instead of JPG files? This makes industrialist life so much more convenient!

Also, damn awesome update, love it!

I dont see any rigs that seem to apply to building caps in their final form. Are they included in the capital component rig? Or just not happening?

BPO prices ?

The exact material compositions of the new rigs and service modules are still being nailed down, will be available in an upcoming forum post.

The docking restrictions are goofy and unintuitive to players. They should be Small, Medium, Large for consistency. I'm disappointed that CCP continues to push pilots into mega-alliance groups and encourage blue donut mentality by forcing the choice of coffining players in supers or joining those who can afford a Keepstar.

Today, you can store and build a supercapital in a 2b isk POS... now it's a 30b+ structure with no ability to store them? This is a horrible shift of power to larger groups.

With citadels they did 10x the expected cost. So I would guess:

7B - Medium
52B - Large
300B - XL

That picture of a Titan at the end means that super capitals in build will be visible from outside the structure, yes? That's quite a big change to not mention anywhere in the blog, just saying.

I'm assuming that the reprocessing rigs will be getting their bonussed structure with the release of Drilling Platforms, right? Or are those meant to be specific to Citadels (makes less sense if you ask me).

Looks like I am going to need to replace my user unfriendly POS with roughly 5 to 6 "easy to use" structures to get similar utility that I already have. Ugh

By that same logic you can tether a super outside a Medium for low cost and no fuel.
