"Ships:

Any item that is scoopable can now also be scooped to a ships fleet hangar using the right click menu.
A character with a criminal flag in a high-sec system is no longer able to board/switch ships whilst in space."

Thanks for the changes :)

New D-Scan and Probe scan feedback

A much better pass than the last one that's for sure. I'll start with the D-Scan.

I like to overlap my d-scan and probe window to save some space so having the scan button on the other side was nice.
Pros:
- Easy to find scan button
- AU & Km combined and easy to switch between
- Mapable scan hotkey
Cons:
- Range and Angle bars are kind of short
- D-scan bubble while in the map is annoying and should have an option to disable it
- No need for another map button

Probe Scan:
Pros:
- Mapable scan hotkey
- Mouse wheel to change probe AU & orientation
- Unscanned sig spheres can be centered on
Cons:
- Current glitch having to press shift/alt or ctrl to be able to move probes when just launched
- Corp bookmarks don't follow sensor overlay rules (unchecked view folders are seen on the map)
- Having scanner probe shown on map makes it difficult to click to move probes around
- Double clicking on a sig snaps to it rather than slides, makes staying orientated difficult and confusing
- Can't change group or signal column sizes
- When scanning, the dot doesn't highlight when probes are covering it
- Can't see my ship modules when the map is in full screen
- Recall probe icon could be separated from the formation icons
- Can't have my filter presets be assigned to one of the 1-4 hotkeys
- Green bar under sig is confusing when more than 2 sigs are there, is it the one under or above? i often as myself.

This is all i have for now, I think that it is certainly coming along nicely. At this point I feel that I can actual use this now.

Nothing to say about D Scan. Other than, different colors would be good.

Music, I never, listen to Eve Music. If I want to listen to music, I turn Itunes or Pandora on in the background.

Scanning...

One of the problems the old scanning had, was having to deal with icons popping up when you were trying to adjust your probe formation. Still have this problem, though now its much much harder to adjust your probe formation, simply because the system seems to want to let you click on individual probes. Let me be clear, I want to move the formation, unless I can't see something because the strength is too low, I never deal with individual probes. If I want to, I use the [shift] keyboard shortcut, I never, ever ever want them interfering with my moving the formation around. Please fix this.

Right now the process for me is.

1. See Anomoly
2. Launch probes
3. click arrows on probe formation to drag the formation away from the annoying and useless tooltip popups
4. click and drag the main box to move the formation over to the anomoly.
5. Resize Formation
6. click arrows to drag formation away from probes so I can properly adjust the precise place I want scanned.
7. Move formation into precise place with main box.
8. Analyze.

Repeat as needed.

It would simplify things so much, if we could simply turn off all the popups. Particularly the probe popups, but yes, all the planets moons etc as well. I don't want to see them when scanning. When warping to stuff occasionally they are nice to have. But otherwise they simply are in the way.

Also, please either remove, or move the destroy active probes button. Its in a bad place. I click the open map button, and its easy to see how you could accidentally click destroy active probes.

I haven't noticed anyone else mentioning this so I'd like to bring it up. Running the d-scan at 360 degrees while trying to scan signatures is a pain. The red signatures on top of the red "area covered" by dscan is a recipe for eye strain. At the very least they should be separate colors, if not customizable.

With regards to the new scan probe window, when I choose to ignore a result it should automatically display the remaining results on the map without me having to select them again.

Also, I run the map in full screen, and maybe I'm just paranoid but I'd like to still be able to see my ship console to verify that I am still cloaked among other things.

I personally think this could/should have been done in the original map, wasn't the idea behind overhauling the map system to integrate the universe map and solar system map? Yet somehow we are back to 2 maps, just named and accessed differently (and slightly more irritating to switch between than the old system before integration).

* resizing the probe diameter doesn't work half a time since it requires much more precision than old scanner
* the cube for moving probe formation DOESN'T HAVE ******* FOCUS PRIORITY! good luck moving your probes when they are centered over signature (who would do that, right?). you just get tooltip for signature
* Everything seems little bit less responsive
* changing active side of the position cube from blue to red is just a pointless change

Hope you're not removing old scanner any time soon :/

It used to be that the opacity of a signature in the solar system map would change when your probes were on top of it. It was a nice visual indication that your probes were where you meant them to be. The new map doesn't seem to do this…?

While I'm asking for stuff, having seperate World Map and Solar System Map buttons in the Neocom would be cool.

Disregard - Seems it was a graphics gliche

No it wasn't.. This is just plain horrible.

Not sure how this is supposed to work but when I recall my probes - They return to my ship but remain visible on the map (although not on Dscan). NB; They did disappear after a few mins (the time it took me to make coffee)

Can't work out the idea behind the red lined sphere but an option to remove/hide it would be good. It doesn't seem to align with anything. Does not center on my current location, doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to add clutter.

"Probes on top", would make selecting probes to position them a simple (user friendly) task, instead of having to find that tiny spot between everything else that is on the map.

"Minimize map" would be a nice user friendly addition, as would the ability to set Dscan and probe interface to stay on top.

Looks pretty but not all that functional as yet.

My opinions are mine.

  If you don't like them or disagree with me that's OK.- - - - - - Just don't bother Hating - I don't care

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

My 2 cents on the scanning issue - the dscan has promise - being able to seen the cone in the map is a nice feature - but of course if you lock the ship direction - all you see is a confusing red disc. Much of the confusion and difficult comes from the color and texture choice as it looks way too much like a cosmic sig. Also why wasnt an adjustable dscan reticle added to the in space view?

On the other hand - probing with probes is awful. The problems with the scanning probes are such that it was easier to just turn the new features off, despite the added functionality of the dscan features. The map is way too cluttered. It is so cluttered that I cant even see the red dots for the sigs. The tooltips or whatever they are called that hover over everything have to go - having essentially 2 icons for everything on the screen is terrible. The worst one - is the "you are here" icon which floats at a considerable distance over where you actually are. I mean at the very least the icon should be at your precise location - not floating at an arbitrary distance above where you are.

Additionally it was way easier to move and resize the probes in the old map. Now every time I try to move the probes I grab something other then the probes and/or the map itself moves. having a floating map is also awful. I already have too many windows. I dont need another one. Maybe having different windows for everything works on a giant dev screen, but it just isnt effective on a small screen. What is the point of having a tiny destroy probes button right next to a tiny recall probes button? Is this a troll? When exactly will anybody ever need to destroy their probes? Hell ccp got rid of the ability to accidentally leave probes behind, why would they add a button that can only cause grief to players when they mistakenly click it instead of the tiny button right next door.

Finally I get that the new UI looks visually more interesting - but the older UI was simpler and way easier to grasp important information from. The new system is just rife through with information overload with most of the information being displayed being pointless clutter.

Dear CCP,

First I would like to say thank you for moving some of those buttons around on the probe scanner. That is very helpful!

Second I would like to ask why can I not use the old solar system map to scan? Life was better for everyone that way! I mean now its almost useless... scanning on that map was so much better.

I also agree with everyone else here it seems. That red D-Scan bubble? for the love of god at least give me a button to turn it off! If the noobs need a visual cue I get that but the bittervets are having a hard enough time scanning on this new map without a ghost sig emanating from our current position. Also we know very well what is in our d-scan range.

This is a terribly written post, but I'm just too frustrated with the new scanning UI to focus on anything really.

You can use the old map - there is an opt out in the general section of the settings. Best feature of the new scanning update.

ESC; General Settings; Try the New Probe and Directional Scanners (remove X from box). You have the old usable scanning interface back.

CCP in their wisdom decided everyone gets to try out half finished additions - By default. You have to manually opt out.

In summary, this new scanning patch that no one wanted to begin with, is terrible and full of undesirable items.
There are more negatives than positives and therefore it should be rolled back. Later on, offer a new patch that has d-scan related items only and then only items that people actually are asking for.

Roll back and begin again.

This feels very petty but I just can't get over it so...

I don't like the new PLEX icon. It looks cheap, it feels like a toy. I miss the golden license, so shiny in my hangar or redeemables and even nicer on a cargo scan or in a wreck. The "PLEX" on it is also not very readable at the smallest icon size (cargo scans and killmails).

Don't get me wrong, I'll still shoot when I see you hauling one but I'll sigh too.

The new probe screen is a huge step backwards if you ask me. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Please give us back the easy to see and read interface. If you need to modify it to accommodate the new stuff fine. But the new interface is JUNK!

This will be among the least constructive posts I have ever made: the new probe window is just awful. I do not see a single thing on which it improves. It even looks less finished than the old one. Thank you for leaving us the option to use the old one. The biggest issue is the d-scan range sphere being visible while you probe.

This is all true too:

I would like to try out the new d-scan tool some more, but since I have to use it along with the new probing mechanism, that is a no go.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Ok I like the improvement on Jump Fatigue.
And I really like the following changes:

Any item that is scoopable can now also be scooped to a ships fleet hangar using the right click menu.
A character with a criminal flag in a high-sec system is no longer able to board/switch ships whilst in space.
Kill report timestamps are now recorded with precision up to the second instead of to the minute.

Now if I can repair and repackage things inside a container that would be awesome.
