The entosis command node regeneration rate is way too fast. It has a huge impact on command node event, and needs to be reduced like 10x.

Agreed, and unfortunately the current CSM did not consider this an issue.

This is something I already highlighted in my CMS XI campaign..
"A last example is the upcoming regeneration of entosis nodes. The existing powers want entosis to strictly be a sov taking feature, and are purposefully negating its potential use as a guerilla tool. I do acknowledge that the concept of regeneration of nodes is needed, but the current rate of regeneration that has been communicated and is to be deployed soon is way too rapid, making any use of entosis as a guerilla tactic useless. I would have lobbied to have this rate apply only to capital systems, and significantly increase the regeneration time according to the distance of the system to the capital system. By linking the regeneration time to distance from capital system, large groups controlling large portion of space would be more affected than smaller groups living in a few systems"

So I've restarted my client a couple of times but I still do not have the directional cube in solar system view to move my probes around. I can resize them but cannot move them.

Seriously CCP there was nothing wrong with the way probing worked before. Changing things just to be able to say you did something to earn your paycheck hurts the game. Maybe you really didn't earn that paycheck after all.

It's seems like it's a game with you people to see how many subscribers you can run off by making the game worse.

....and no you can't have my stuff.....

Hit SHIFT, and the arrows will show up again. It is a bug they already know about I believe.

tried combat probing n it totally sux the map dont turn as it should i only get friggin top view and it takes longer to actually find ur target FIX THIS CCP OR KEEP THE OLD SCANNIN OPTIONS AS THEY WORKED JUST FINE
wtf is this crap ur messin things up shoving it down or throats while it barely workls decently. now we gotta filter this out n this out n that while it used to be 1 click now its a fuckin nuisance by the time u got ur stuff filterd out n actually get to probing ur target is gone...while with the previous system i could undock n put my scans on ships with 1 yes only 1 click n not have to deselect 5 bloody options before launchin probes n whats up with the top view on combat probes? stupid changes once more
combat probing needs to be fast and efficient not sluggish slow n hard . i get it yall want to make the game look pretty then stick witth designing skins instead of messin up somthing that worked just fine and somthing thats important to most of us
ps: also while scannin the camera always flips back to the location of my ship while beein in the solar system map i dont wan this i want to be able to scan the signal not have to figure out why the view always flips back to the location of the ship.
the old way was workin beter then this fancy crap.
ok agreed it looks nice but other then that its worthless

2/ please can we have d-scan open without transparent red circle?

3/ please can all remaining cosmic sigs remain showing in probe scanner and space after one has been fully scanned (having to ctrl A now to see them again). This is retrograde.

4/ Having to click twice to launch my current formation of probes, this is retrograde too.

5/ The separate screen/solar system map is impossible, you have to chose between seeing all your windows open or having a max map screen . if you do that you can not see; ds, local overview, chat and modules in view. Its been 1/2 hour its driving me crazy

Thank you.

All of this. Point 1/ made me hunt a ghost sig for a minute. Also, filtering Anoms is by far my most used filter. Takes now two clicks, I wouldn't mind if it got back its own toggle.

I have 0 issues with combat scanning. The moves just like it did before and as far as the top only view i have no idea why you get that. Do you have tracking camera enabled or align with camera ticked in the map view?

Just an initial thought on the new scanner window. I've not used it in anger so can't really comment - but in terms of features it seems ok. Definitely room for improvement though...

http://i.imgur.com/BfMF67c.png

Why?! Just why have a drop down button then an uncheck button. Just let me click the wifi button to toggle! You can hit the focus current location button without needing a drop down list...

Also, when you have it the camera locked you can't double click on your probes. Can you make it so when the camera is locked we can still double click on our probes to centralise the view there? If we then want to switch back to dscan locked we can then just then (please) click a single button to re-enable it.

Quality of life change that I can't see why anyone would be against there.

edit - how about just making all the icons visible on the scanner window. The full screen/window/dock has no reason to be a sub menu. Again make it possible to do it with a single click?

Scanner windowed - if you are zoomed out and try and drag the sliders to move the probes, it seems to just click the actual probe under the arrow....

Tried to submit a bug but could not. Skill queue is stuck. No characters in training. Tried to switch character training and now I get the pop up message recommending a dual training certificate.

Only posting here because the report a bug wasn't working either.

please do the colors in the new scanner ui the old way was more pleasant to look at.

those sharp green lines deviding results are a nightmare to look at

and worse still why change it - the scanner was one of few thing that worked and was not broken

Viewing the dscan cone in the scanner, nice feature but as others have said it's distracting with it being red and having so many rings.... Can it be a different colour and shaded rather than lots of rings? It looks really bad when zoomed out at the moment.

Ok, one hour of intensive testing, here the feedback ...

  • dscan looks nice, and the visualization in the map is helpful
  • the dscan map looks good, zoom is OK
  • changing the angle and range does not change the result list immediately anymore - significant regression, handicap towards players using the old interface
  • sun is too bright, just distraction, no function, obscures stuff near the sun
  • HUD missing in full screen mode - game breaking regression, operate your ship while scanning is important
  • dscan color, form interferes with signatures, maybe changing color + on/off in probe map
  • contrast, size of sigs is much worse to the old map (also amplified by the not all black background) - no idea how to improve, just use the current visualization, this is clear and crisp - significant regression
  • probe results visualization is also worse, because it is too busy, "disconnected" and messy - no idea how to improve, just use the current visuals with full colored bars, which are clearly superior
  • grabbing the probe cube to move in a busy area is nearly impossible, because stuff is on top, no problem with current interface (was switching back and forth the interfaces in the same scene) - significant regression
  • finally the performance is much worse, the same scene in Vylade combat probes around center, 40 fps for with current map, 4(!) fps with the new map - this is game breaking

In general the current probing solution feels more responsive, visual effective and efficient than the new beta, so there is a lot of work to do, and please don't throw away good solutions just because they are old.

Destroy Active Probes
Please move the "destroy active probes" button away from the open map button. It's honestly in a worse place now than it was before. We click that map button ALOT. If anything belongs in an obscure right click menu, I think it is this feature :)

Filter Menu
I also really don't like that I have to go into the filter menu to toggle signatures and anomalies. I would love to see those become button/toggles. There is just no feedback that when I press "1" that it has done something, if there are no anomalies in the system, I cannot tell that, I have to open the filter list to verify that the checkbox is there. Especially since you have to be mousing over the probe scanner for the filter keyboard shortcut to work.

I feel like the changes that were made have good intentions, but maybe needs some more iterations. It indeed does more for us and that is great, but its a bit cumbersome for me personally.

Just to add the probe scanner filters don't appear to work. Tried the two default ones but they don't do anything.

This. Twice over. Filters don't work. Period. I turn on the "No structure" filter, pop combat probes, and every blasted structure in space shows up. Same goes for Cosmic Signature, Ships, and Drones. Check them all, everything shows up, uncheck everything, everything still shows up...

Another issue, I right click on the top middle or second from bottom filter, attempt to edit and it opens the bottom filter for editing. If I save it, it overwrites the bottom filter with the new name.

Similar issue, when I right click the top filter, and delete it, I want the TOP filter deleted, not the bottom one.

Related issue, probe scanner window becomes as sluggish as molasses in January when it has more than a few sig spheres/rings/icons.

Feature idea: Enable us to use the new scanner interface and whatnot, on the old system maps. Actually, make the entire interface toggle in bits and pieces, so people can use what they like and ignore the rest.

Initial D-Scan feedback:
1. Why change the location of the scan button?

Having the call to action button to the top left ( instead of the right ) is unusual - we expect it to be on the right.

2. New scan button has an animation - this is unnecessary

This ^^

Might be personal to me, but I stick d-scan on the left of my screen - So as well as simply being used to scan button being on the right, that's also the most central and accessible position for it for me.
I'd love for it to be back on the right (or for me to have the choice to move it as I wish).

This button gets hammered A LOT - I want it in a convenient, intuitive position!

As for the animation - yeah that goes in the "sh*t I don't need" category.

CCP, please read the postings carefully regarding the probe scanning process, tools, window, options, colors, icons, and everything to do with scanning.....and try to realize that nothing has changed since the beta map was first released and the majority of folks stated immediately that they hated it.
They hate it.
I hate it.
Put it back and leave it alone.

I think the bottom line is that scanning makes isk for folks, and even with the price of Plex over 1 billion, scanning/probing/exploring is a great way for solo pilots to pay for their time in game.
While this seems to have always been the driving force for CCP to make changes....to prevent people from being able to plex in game, it is also the main reason many players do any exploring at all.

Scanning with probes...

- HUD missing in full screen mode using the new map - this reduces situational awareness (is my MWD running? am I still cloaked? why did I run out of cap??). This is key.

- Color contrast of sigs is much worse than the old map, perhaps use less dark shades of red/yellow/green. Also the "dot" is way too small in certain situations... or is that not THE dot and simply the center of the red bubble/red dotted circle? This is confusing. Seems there are two dots, the small one we can ignore and the big one that is where the sig is located.

- Scan results are misleading. When you used to get a results of a red circle in the old map, you know the sig is somewhere in the circle. That's not longer the case. I get hits that show up as a circle and the resulting sig is nowhere near the circle, most of the times not even on the same plane. I just tried it and got a hit on a structure waay up on the plane while the actual structure was a POS at a moon.

This makes using the tool not only a pain but outright unreliable. You get a results and are not sure where to look next, might as well not show anything...or display a red bubble.

- Sigs and results are not highlighted in the map when you move your probes on top. In the old map, when a previously scanned sig (say a red dot) came under your probes radius (aka inside the blue balls), the red dot would get brighter. That's no longer the case. This makes very difficult to know when you have your probes properly positioned or not. Now you have to move the view on two axis to check if your probes are correctly positioned or not.

- When scanning structures, once you get them to the "yellow" range (+%25), they show up as a yellow icon in the new map. However, if you do the same with a signature, the red uncertainty ball still shows up even though the result is also in the yellow range (+%25). This is inconsistent and very confusing.... and very hard to reproduce now that I typed this (see last paragraph).

- I can't seem to filter out structures. Even after turning the structure filter off (see last paragraph again grrr).

- Icons are not consistent. You scan down a POS and a POS icon shows in the map. This is correct. Now you scan a wormhole and a beacon icon shows up. Why not use the wormhole icon???

Last paragraph

There are other issues that are hard to pin down. Things disappear with no rhyme or reason. Results and icons that are there one minute, two scans later they are gone (even structures, so no this is not a relic site someone just completed). This makes the whole experience very confusing. Sometimes things work ok and then stop working... 2 scans later they go back to working fine again. The whole thing is VERY unreliable.
