Here i sit with four accounts out of reach due to the launcher trying to patch the client from version 392566 to 392566 (not sure why its trying to update with the same version) but it fails at different %. I have cleard the cash, re downloaded / installed five times and run out of idears. I have sent a petition in but it says there will be a long wait. Any one have any other idears? Any (Helpfull) advice would be great.

Ah by logging in using the ExeFile in the bin folder it works. So it has to be the launcher. I still have a petition No 2922485 so maby something will come of that.

I'm trying to manually patch the game by importing patches into the Launcher, but the Launcher never finishes the transition. It either halts at particular percentage or it keeps restarting the progress bar on the Creating EVE_Online_XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX_win.patch

Anyone have luck with manually patching?

I'm trying the manual patch because my firewall prohibits the Launcher's downloads.

Anyone else have an issue with clicking the Play button and nothing happening?

The launcher finished patching... I clicked Play, the text changed to read "Validating the client" then "client 100% ready" then nothing. Clicking the button with Task Manager running (Win 7 64bit) I don't see EveFile.exe start at all.

I ran the repair tool and it found some things to update... After finishing, started up the launcher... same thing.

Running EveFile.exe directly works.

I'm seeing the same thing. Did you by any chance put on updates from Microsoft last night? Windows update put on something like 18 fixes, and that's the only difference between yesterday and today. The game never even gets far enough to ask for my login.

Running exefile.exe does work though.

As I mentioned in the other thread, renaming the file honk.ini, which erroneously recorded that I had an older version seemed to have fixed this issue.

ImportError: No module named email.utils

and i cannot start eve. so what now ? I dont have eset. i am running avira antivirus premium 2012 which never was a problem yet.

.. and best of all, when i wrote this, i cannot post it, due to restrictions of this forum (html post or something).

Got an answer via petition and it works fine now:

1. Delete the Launcher folder which can be found in your EVE Online client folder.
2. Download the launcher installer from the following URL:

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/launcherInstaller/EVEOnlineLauncher_1_32_tq.exe

3. Once downloaded can you run the .exe file and direct the launcher to your client installation when prompted.
4. Once the launcher installation is complete can you start the launcher using the 'EVE Online Launcher' link which can be found in your clients folder. You should then be able to log into the client as normal. If you notice that your account settings have been cleared, then please try closing the client and also the launcher and then restarting the client. Hopefully they will be available.

This means that you have ended up with a corrupted Launcher. You can use this: http://content.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/launcherInstaller/EveOnlineLauncherInstaller_TQ_1_11.exe to get a full working launcher.

I manage to get my launcher to work using this installer. Surprisingly.

CCP, i seriously suggest that you test your patches and updates in a test environment fully first before rolling out.
Why?
1. Most players do not want to troubleshoot programmes. I just want to play the game.
2. Quality is better for reputation. I think this concept is clearly understood.
3. When something wrong happens, I do not wish to assume that i had done something wrong.

You have people in the forum who encounter issues regularly. Why not ask them to test your patches using their computer configurations first?

There is no excuse for such major problems. You have been developing this game for so long. Always have a back up plan, CCP.

You have a great game,. Now don't go screwing it up.

Ty, Neok Skywalker, problem fixed. Ok, CCP, at a lot of time after the Launcher's release, it's not the time to fix this problem? Or will this hurt the game imbalance? Someone nerfd the Launcher thinking on missiles or what? Lol, Launcher nerf...Big smile
But, guys, don't be sad. We got Fireworks, and game is now balanced.

I just built a new machine, win 7 64, had a horrible time trying to download the new eve client. Things I did to fix the problem:

1. Stop all AV programs
2. Stop Windows Defender
3. Download the offline installer with IE 9, not Chrome/Firefox/Safari/etc at: http://community.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1&

Avast protocol filter/web filter + file system real time protection and Windows Defender were corrupting the 7z files. It seems something in Chrome was also corrupting the downloaded 7z files. IE9 worked fine once all that stuff was disabled.

I run behind a "router" (windows 2003 server with 2 nic cards), so I don't bother with a firewall on my desktop, but if you do use a firewall and can safely turn it off (NAT with basic blocking of incoming traffic on your router) then I would recommend doing that as well.

Launcher would not work. Kept trying repair tool, but nothing. Deleted Eve from computer and tried to download again. Got the following error

Archive extraction failed: 3

OS Win 7

Was able to play yesterday, but nothing today. Tried to download the payloads individually, but the above error still pops up when opening the two payloads. Assistance is most appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem with the Jan 24 update build. I have tried temporarily disabling all avast! behaviour shields, Windows Firewall, and running the repair tool as an admin. Nothing works...CCP, please help?

I'm going to have to full re-install, just for a 6 MB build. CCP, please let us download patches manually. Why do I get this when I google "EVE Online patch download"? Rely on the Launcher? No thank you, I've done as others have suggested when dealing with avast! antivirus. I have disabled all of my computer's defences and have left myself open to attack overnight just to patch the game, and that patch attempt failed with the same error I posted previously.

The Launcher clearly has some issues. Please just let us download and apply patches manually. My skill training is about to run out and I really want to get back in-game.

I'm also unable to patch the game with the 24 Jan patch. Repair does not seem to work, stuck on 1/7 initializing and I see no activity with the CPU. I'll try reinstalling the entire client.
