So you confirm then that it took you years to figure out that ganking freighters by CODE. was actually piracy? And after you dscovered that we pirate the freighters and keep the loot you lost the will to fight? Because we had no impact on the market you and your wingman drac tried to rescue or something?

Just allow me to ask: How many spays did you have to burn to retrieve this sensible information?

Another question: How does the piracy story align with the goon funding story? I mean why should they fund us if we make ISK en mass without risk?

CODE. is an invented story that's been making thousands of people mad. And we like it.

No you make 1 out of 100 mad and then make some rage mail into a trophy and, if possible, go all the way up to an E1 level event. What was the thing happened to your founder, who tried to justify his actions with 12000 autistic words?

That's what they are made of, Dom.

Why don't I do it?

Main answer is that I am not really a pirate type.

There is some skill in bumping, but as I have bumped PvP ships away from gates I would have no issue with that, would I want to bother having all the accounts needed, not really as it would turn into a need to gank to pay for the accounts. Could I organise a group of people to do it, yes I could, my corp was up to 80 characters at one point, but back to the main reply there, I am not a pirate type. I do recognise the organisation and dedication of the people doing it however, but it is very low risk and high reward, once you have seeded in the operational costs it is a licence to print ISK. I want more fun PvP challenge in my game, though I do realise that the people doing this, do this instead of running anomalies and the like.

The focus I have is on the advantage and staleness of bumping, with CONCORD protection it is a done deal in terms of 99.9999% of bumps, it enables total control of the battlefield and a methodical approach to getting the fleet in and the right amount of DPS, including a surplus for any AG activity.

The thing is that a freighter gets to the gate in a choke point system, and his choice is jump through or not, if he has a scout and sees a Macherial on gate, his only option is to dock at the nearest station and wait it out. Though there are other options as other people have pointed out, such as hisec WH's, I would just bring along some DST's and move the stuff piecemeal or have freighters either side of the choke points for that.

If the freighter has a a second account then he can web it into warp before the Mach can get on him, however that is easily negated by a suicide point.

It is true that most people don't take enough care of their stuff and a valid point by the gankers, after all I never got ganked and I moved a lot of stuff through the pipes at times.

What I want to see is a freighter being chased by a gank fleet which is fun content, not held in stasis like it is now, so it is fun content for the freighter pilot who is really running for his life.

In its current form it is stale uninteresting play for the victim and for the aggressor.

But good try...

It does not matter why you don't gank freighters for profit in empire. You make claims that you cannot prove by doing it yourself. If it's so easy and so over powered, you do it.

Any of your claims made without proof are invalid and easily dismissed with proof.

Nice try, but you avoided nothing.

I'm sure this idea has been discussed before, and I'm also sure it's probably a bad idea, but does anyone know if CPP has ever looked into creating PvP free systems (AKA safe systems where ganking could not take place)?

It would give the people who are adverse to risk an arena to play in and be safe in. The rest of us could just avoid the system. I think it'd be boring as all hell, but to each their own.

The market in said systems would be interesting. With the only casualties / losses being to Rats, I don't expect there would be much turnover in the ship / mod sectors, but ammo and maybe drones would sell real nice!

I mean, I get that pretty much every other MMO out there has these types of safe areas and the absence of these safe areas is what sets Eve apart from the rest... Ok, nevermind, I just talked myself out of this idea... It really seems like people upset about being ganked are either:

a) Venting their frustration over a recent and costly loss, or;
b) Playing the wrong video game

I've yet to be ganked in a high value target, so maybe I just don't get it Bear

Informing people of their options when it comes to avoiding unwanted PvP isn't constructive? Several people on your list have provided viable strategies to avoid being ganked by the likes of CODE. and MiniLuv, you chose to write them off because they involve effort. Oh wait I forgot, those industry types that made your list are on an imaginary do not gank list, because that's far more feasible than them avoiding ganks through their own actions Roll

Ima WetYou projecting stupid again about it being piracy, of course it is piracy, however the question is what was the Goons / Miniluv's interest in this, and why were they giving PAP's and of course SRP. Is that because out of the goodness of their hearts they wanted to help their CODE buddies. All I have to say to you is ice interdiction....

But please continue to act dim, I find it funny...

No, the thing about Eve is that there has to be player conflict possible in all areas, otherwise it would be a terrible game, it is the player interaction that makes Eve what it is.

Look at this lot here, twisting and turning to try to score points on me and making themselves look silly.

If you had safe areas in this game it would be really stale and boring. However CCP has to get the balance right in not allowing a major segment of their player base being easy kill patsies for the enjoyment and wealth of older richer players and that is a balance issue and why we are having this strong debate on bumping.

The Dominion sov system created a boring stale system with two sets of blue donuts, CCP took action to change that and the reason why there is not that action at the moment is because most entities are building up their assets like crazy, because at the end of the year the old stations will be a loot pinatas and a half.

Don't forget that the gankers do have a point, people don't take enough care, moving a freighter full of stuff AFK is stupid, I controlled my risk so never got gank, I expect you were careful and tried to control your risk, which is why so far you have not been ganked.

I only paid attention for a year. I recall seeing some long sperging posts in GD roughly around the time CODE came into being and I remember seeing your cult leader as the thread starter. But like most things he writes, and I seen this echoed on Reddit, I saw his posts and said "Oh no, I'm not going to take the time to read that crap".

Perhaps I would have known earlier through experience. But my play style is such that prior to the spring of 2015 there was little contact with highsec. Most of my activity was using highsec as a base to foray into null and wormhole, and mainly based out of Villore. The only encounter with ganking in highsec I have had was an attempt on my wreath in the Udrama pipeline. Should not have had so much ISK in it, but having run lowsec gates I managed to handle it. I pretty much assumed it was only because of what I was doing. That is, even without CODE's "help", everybody knew by this time the math of ganking: value of the target exceeding the cost to suicide gank it increased chances to get ganked. So I was alert and using the cloak/MWD method of travel.
(all that to save an ISK amount that I give away now... but it was fun).

To be honest, I was disappointed to find out that highsec even had a gank pipeline after playing the game for 9 years. Once had a convo with one of your better bumpers and it also appears that I missed "peak gank" so to speak, that at the time I was working with AG, the "freighter every 15 minutes" thing was already slowing down. All this challenge, right there in highsec and here I was looking in low and null, wasting travel time and gazing at Dotlan. I knew earlier that Jita undock was a mosh pit but who didn't? All those "burn Jita" events pretty much made that common knowledge and that's why I never undocked a Kestrel with 72 PLEX.
