+1 for the new camera

I've got a free extractor with the 3 months sub and I've used it to get rid of some skills I have trained and used long ago. This is really cool, not to mention that I bought another 500K points from the market. I accepted the sometimes long training times as part of EVE, but it's kinda cool to inject Heavy Missile Spec V instead of waiting 18 days for it. So +1 for this too.

Yeah, because it's all about convenience, right?

My thoughts exactly Sad

your Bullshite posting how you listened to the ""community"" (extra " for Sion) where we all love this feature is dumb.

It was decided beforehand and the "community" has just to swallow the snake.

Well, that's the last straw for me. I thougth Eve was diferent but it clearly isn't any more... My account expires on feb. 13th and years of my life have been wasted for nothing. There goes a pile of digital crap that has costed more hours and efforts than I want to remember.

So long everybody.

Uh, you are not allowed to post those sort of things about quitting and such anymore. CCP don't want the bad vibe in their censored forums - bad vibes fucks with their spin-efforts. So your post will probably be relegated to the Out of Pod section of the forums which nobody reads.

The February Release with it's attendant SP extractors/injectors have not been live for a full 24 hours.

There's at least one toon with a little over 73M in injected SPs to assign as he/she sees fit.

Seventy. Three. Million. Skill. Points.

Since there's no weeks' long cooldown on them. No limit. Nothing that stands in the way of CCP grabbing up bundles of O' Mighty Dollahs (or your local equivalent of Greenbacks)

With a big enough bankroll, yes Eve just became Pay2Win/Progress.

I sukk at math, but my mind boggles how much pure profit CCP got for that shiny trinket that's available in the end from the New Eden Store. Ya know, that place where we were promised not much more than vanity items (SKINs, Clothing, Tattoos, Cyborg limbs, Character Re-sculpt, double or triple SP training on same account).

I'm sure some in the glass tower in Iceland are rubbing grubby hands together. Look at all this munnies we get to throw at a VR game still not in a Beta stage! Yeah. Let me know how betting the farm on VR will keep CCP a viable gaming company.

-*-*-

Then the new camera behaviour. Very pretteh for video capture. All shiny and new. Very.... VR like. As though the upcoming Valkyrie is going to be linked up with Eve Online and the pew targets expand. After all, linking up Eve and Dust turned out so well.. umm... hold that thought, when does Dust get vacuumed out of existence again? Since it's not, ya know, Making Serious Cash as an Eve add-on.

I get that the Legacy Coding for camera needed some TLC. Some re-writing so it gels with what's running on TQ3. But instead of going for a seamless finish, you went full bore different for change's sake. What? Why?!? I might not be the bestest with software, but if there's Only One True Way to do something in a program, then why are there so many programs that Do The Same Silly Thing?

That is, unless you Need to change it so it syncs up with Valkyrie. So those with vision and/or motion issues are removed for not being able to 'evolve' and being sticks in mud. Why spend so much cash upgrading the TQ server unless it's to make room in the Eve galaxy for the VR tagalongs you're counting on for long term profitability?

Dear fellow capsuleers of different ranges of time spent with Eve Online....

We've been sold out and tossed downstream. I know Eve isn't a charity, and CCP is a company. But when the bottom line is the ONLY thing focused on during changes, well greed destroys more than it constructs.

Not quite two years of playing the daily insanity that is Eve. I'll make it official my stance. Gratz, I join the Greek tragedy chorus. Eve's on life support now.

Yay. Bitter Vet cynical.

I wish to supply a little feedback concerning the changes to fatigue, specificly the ones where you mentioned the intention to shorten the maximum fatigue. While i agree 30 days is a little long, i feel like 5 days is too short. I do not know specific numbers (obviously) but i expect there are players who are only able to log on during the weekends. A 5 day timer would not effect those players in any relevant way. I would suggest making the maximum be 7 days at least, to ensure that specificly those players are effected, too. This would ensure fatigue actually has the intended effect, in my oppinion. I realise there may also be players that log on once every two weeks, once every month, or whatever, but i expect those to be too few in number to be a specific concern.

I would like to, additionally, suggest two other changes, firstly a flat reduction of the fatigue buildup (not too much, i would say about 20% maximum). Secondly, and probably more importantly, i would like to suggest making the fatigue decrease not being a linear proces, but one that starts off decreasing fast, with the reduction in fatigue slowing down as it gets further from the point it was at upon landing after the jump. I feel like this last change would make capitals a little bit more viable for a trip of, say, 3 jumps, while still limiting the speed with which they travel, and also significantly limit the ability to undertake the large kind of trips that prompted you to make this change in the first place. I believe that this would give players who have a limited amount of time to play for a single session or a limited ability to choose those specific moments the option to join a fight, and request an exit cyno to GTFO if real life requires that. A significant part of the original player base has a job, a wife, children, or any combination there of, and none of these easily permit the player to prioritize on a game over each of these.

New camera feedback:

1) Change the tracking feature to work like old camera. Ie, a) toggle to turn on/off, rather than hold 'c', and b) track ships that are in warp.

2) Do not turn off tactical overlay after each undock and each gate jump. Have it remember the last setting.

Thanks!

New camera sucks.

Let me be more specific:
- zooming speed is too drastic. One touch and you go from full zoom to waaay far out. you zoom in and same thing happens.
- can not pan around while pressing the 2 buttons
- can not track objects. camera centers on object but when the object moves (or you do, can't tell) the camera does not follow (maybe i'm simply not understanding what the purpose of the track function is... but as teh word implies, I guess it should... you know... TRACK! It doesn't.)
- can not center on objects like the old one. I tried this with ships when clicking on the overview and anoms or celestials (planets). Moreover, the button to do it from the HUD is gone.
- camera doesn't like looking directly down or up. It twists and moves around a lot, which would be fine for World of Warship...BUT THIS IS FRIGGIN 3D GAME.

Also, it got all screwey when going into the warp tunnel (it happened twice). I was looking at another ship when it did the second time around. It scared the crap out of me, only other time I saw video doing that is when a video card gets fried.

Oh! It also goes into fishbowl mode (thanks for bringing back EVE 2003) every now and then (twice in a couple of hours). I *think* is after jumping systems. To get it to reset I just click the orbit camera, again, very anoying.

Overall, a lot of funtionality was changed or removed for no apparent reason or improvement.

Disabling this thing until fixed or I'm forced to use it.

In the end, Hilmar's code wasn't so bad after all.

I don't like that the new camera requires using a keybind to track things. Auto-track is a great feature in the old camera controls. I hope it gets put into the new camera mode.

I do agree, i noticed this, too, and it annoys me. I fly logi in Sansha Incursions QUITE a lot, and the top-down view gives me a nice, clean view of what is going on in terms of positioning, where lasers are going and even things like invuls being activated.
If only the damned thing stopped shaking so much and so randomly.

I don't mind the new camera so much but I miss the camera tracking toggle / center / custom settings enough that I've turned the new camera off to get some peace of mind back.

The loss of the old camera's tracking has tactical / gameplay effects.

OMG the flashy screen of epilepsy. In station and warping when looking away from the sun. Screen flashes once a second or so.

I thought it was an occlusion bug so was trying to turn off sun occlusion, couldn't find the setting, but when I turned off dynamic field of view, the screen stopped flashing.

Please make the tracking camera and the "c" key work as they did with the old camera.

The new camera seems nice enough, but the tracking camera is used so much for scanning and decloaking etc that I turned the new cameras off almost instantly

Just curious: Why is there no queue to add skills/skill levels into from which you want to extract SP? Why do you have to click approve every single skill level and then at the end approve the final extraction? This is just as bad a click mania as it is with PI and you would have thought you had learned from that.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Since patch 2016-02-10
Some effect of the new camera gives seasick.
My ship is stopped, speed =0. When making a Zoom out and display covers a large area (eg. 20 km), the display begins to swing gently and long was small retching.
Remove this effect. I remind you that we are in space and not on the sea with a boat.

Perhaps with regard to cash for skills, CCP may not be quite as daft as I had presumed.

In the short term it will generate some money for CCP, then as the short lived market will surely and effectively die, CCP will announce that they have (finally listened to the overwhelmingly negative feedback) and do away with this fundamentally flawed cash grab mechanic.

Short term cash grab, and listening to their paying subscriber base, a win-win for them.

This is not a signature.

What is this bullshit?

The following skills have been seeded to the market:

◦ Force Auxiliary ships

Dread skill book is 100mil because if does 1 thing.
Carrier Skill books are 500mil I though due to being able to do more than one thing. NOW THEY CANNOT. What is the 500mil for? What am I getting that is worth the price?

Grandfather these damn things ffs. If I can fly a carrier I should be able to fly both a FA and Carrier if you split the Fing ship split the learned skill too!

What I am most angry about is how eve keeps catering to the new characters because I have exceeded 100mil sp I only get 150k skill points from an injector but a relatively new toon that hasn't supported CCP financially since 2006 gets 500k.

How is this fair?

I trained and paid for a 2nd account for years to fly carriers because of the stringent skill plan it took to then change it where a few months old character can now do the same?

CCP why do you hate your older player base?

Why do you keep making things gravy for new subscribers where the older toons had to grind for everything?

Look, I went through pages and pages of complains about this story, but I'm not sure what these changes will bring. Time will tell and surely not ranting about changes. This is not p2win in my eyes, you don't get better weapons or ships if you pay like in other games. We all know that the trained skill alone doesn't mean much without knowing how to use it. Perhaps it's just a lot more juicy cash-trained targets, flying around like idiots in expensive stuff. We'll see.

I like it or not this is how it is for now, I want to stay so I adapt. Maybe later I see that it changed the game in a way that I don't like anymore, but that's the future.

This is just a hobby for me, I have a life and I spend some time with this game too. Like I said, it was ok for me to wait the training time, but it's ok this way too. I don't want to spend too much money on EVE so I'm happy to wait as before, but why shouldn't I use an opportunity? Maybe I use the money I get flying around or cash a PLEX or two to buy an injector sometimes, speeding up training. Does it really make me a bad man? :) Or you tell me that none of you guys who are so against these changes will never buy an injector? :)
