In my opinion the way skill trading has been introduced crosses a line. CCP might think that this is a great new cash cow for now but you seem to have overlooked the financial demographic of your player base. I imagine the sight of players watching other players (particularly new ones) overtake them simply because they have more money will become the biggest reason NOT to play EVE online the game has ever seen. #paytowin?

Moving onto the second biggest reason NOT to play EVE online: the continuing and pointless addition of more and more skill training for nothing in return. I accept that with the new pay to win dynamic, CCP have added some mitigation to this topic (I hope the intended sarcasm was detected), but what about the other 75% of YOUR player base? This time around it’s the turn of capital pilots to bend over, only this time there's nothing slippery to ease the pain…

…… I feel like I’m talking to a brick wall……. why bother………….

Long story short: CCP have set clear precedence in the past when racialising other ship skills such as destroyers, battlecruisers etc. It’s very simple, if someone pays money to train something and you accept that money then you should honour that agreement, otherwise it’s stealing mmmmkay?????

Does anybody else feel the glob of CCP spit in their face?! *rages*

Squeezing players for extra cash for things such as cosmetics is as far as CCP should have allowed their greed to take them. I used to think EVE was a game for everyone from all walks of life. I believed for a long time that CCP understood that pay to win games ultimately only ever engineer a broken player dynamic, destined for failure. Years of adding pointless skills, the industry changes, then the sov changes and now this BS. The only single redeeming thing I’ve seen in a long time is the prospect of the new citadels, but even then they’re probably five years overdue.

Tread carefully CCP, you have a lot of disgruntled customers at the moment.

My ship seems to have changed colour while I was at lunch - my Skiff was dark grey and maroon before lunch, and now it is a colour I can only describe as baby puke yellow and maroon.

And the idea of people being able to buy skills makes those of us who actually have invested the time to train them look like chumps. I can't believe this was popular with anyone but CCP's accountants....

What is this bullshit?

The following skills have been seeded to the market:

◦ Force Auxiliary ships
>>> I have to drop 500mil to be able to do something that I can already do? Why?

◦ Light & Support fighters
>>> I have to skill something that I can already do? Why? What is happening to the current fighter skills?

Dread skill book is 100mil because if does 1 thing.
Carrier Skill books are 500mil I though due to being able to do more than one thing. NOW THEY CANNOT. What is the 500mil for? What am I getting that is worth the price?

Grandfather these damn things ffs. If I can fly a carrier I should be able to fly both a FA and Carrier if you split the Fing ship split the learned skill too!

Since the developers no longer play this game allow me to remind you about one of the unwritten rules of eve online:

Now can read any skillbook without need previous skill. It is good.
But limit of 50 skills in queue is small.
I create plan of one year and can not insert all need skills.
Can do limit of 100 skills?

Im almost certain my mining ships did not come with puke. I would like to take this time to thank CCP for this new free texture which i can only surmise came from capsulers reaction to the new camera and effort to alleviate themselves from its clutches.

The new camera is still worse than the 'old' camera. While you've given the options to remove the offset camera and the really annoying FOV changes (which means it's automatically better than your first attempt), there's still 2 big issues I'm having.

1) The camera is more sluggish to control. You've put more weight behind it, which makes it slide around more, making it harder to accurately place the camera for 5 degree scans. Heck, the old camera is not exactly the most responsive camera already, and making it less so just baffles me. It's annoying, but livable.

2) You've lowered the vertical movement rate compared to the horizontal, which frankly is a STUPID idea in the fully 3D environment of EVE Online. This is just completely bonkers.

I spent a good 2 hours figuring out how to get rid of it when Fallout 4 did the exact same thing. Restricting the vertical camera movement does NOT belong on ANY game controlled by a mouse.

If these are changed, I might actually consider leaving the new camera on. But for now, the old camera is still a more effective viewing method.

EDIT : Video showing off the second issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIl9egYxkqA

Genuine question:

If I removed all the SP in a skill down to 0 through extractors, is there not a way to remove the now 'useless' injected skill?

I was hoping to correct some very old 'mistakes' and use the SP to sort out an alt - maybe I'm just OCD, but I would like to get rid of the 0 SP injected skills now... P

+1 The biggest thing which bugs me is the price of the new skill books (and the old) and the addition of new fighter skill books. It's not all about having to train something new to get a partial new feature, but my skill plan. I'm one of these stupid idiots, who keep trying to skill with high efficiency. I have like 13.5m skill points in Drones, since I trained nearly everything to 5 in this group, when I had the perfect mapping for it. But now... I'm out of free remap points and can't easily switch back. It feels like CCP just slapped me into my face for using their "skill attribute feature". Silly me Cry

What about 2 free remaps, to fix this problem? P

The new camera controls are awesome (although some fine-tuning needed, as already mentioned in the posts above)... 1st person will be great for bomb deployment I guess... Big smile although not tried that yet...
New Skill System is also awesome... some long overdue changes... finally implement. Thanks!

Now to the bad things:

'nough said... +10 to this. Took ages to skill a carrier, mostly though for its no longer exisiting long-range capability: You guys still didn't remove the Jump Drive Calibration Skill of the Carrier. This should have done when nerfing the Carriers from long-range jump-vessels to jump-just-around-the-corner vessels... Just look at the Dreadnought Requirements...

skill transfer... most probably a good thing, practically eliminating the thinking of young chars as easy targets... Let's just hope the downside of this system won't end in some kind of pay2win...

Sorry if this shows up in an odd spot but this is my first forum post and I'm not familiar with it yet. My comment on this latest update is about the tactical overlay. Before you could have it turned on or off. Now the blasted thing turns back on again every time you make a jump. This is very annoying !!!

The new camera has been tested very heavily by a very good person called Shab, He loves the new camera. I hve just heard him for the past 15 mins ranting about it.

I typed out a cutting synopsis of this February Release, and the decisions made in the last year or two by CCP on the direction they seem to have for Eve Online. Then realized.... it would most likely be either edited due to it being 'non-issue' posting, if not outright removed. So to a KISS version of it.

Short term gains vs. long term losses.

Question being:

Why does it appear CCP has taken the former as policy, damning with torpedoes and turning a purposeful blind eye to what the latter shall bring them as a viable company?

One account inactive since time's run out and I haven't thrown more at it. Three still active, waiting to see if it'll be worth adding more subscription time to them, in the face of current decision priorities in a glass tower very far from where I sit.

Very far in more than air mileage from here to there. Indeed.

+1 for the new camera

I've got a free extractor with the 3 months sub and I've used it to get rid of some skills I have trained and used long ago. This is really cool, not to mention that I bought another 500K points from the market. I accepted the sometimes long training times as part of EVE, but it's kinda cool to inject Heavy Missile Spec V instead of waiting 18 days for it. So +1 for this too.

When you have the new camera mode on, the tracking/look at should NOT be above the 'jump/warp' commands.

For example if you set autopilot and click on the next destination on the top left (The route), Look at/track should be below jump to. It's bugging me a good deal because the first thing I often click will be 'jump/warp', so it's nice if its all streamlined.

It was decided beforehand and the "community" has just to swallow the snake.

Well, that's the last straw for me. I thougth Eve was diferent but it clearly isn't any more... My account expires on feb. 13th and years of my life have been wasted for nothing. There goes a pile of digital crap that has costed more hours and efforts than I want to remember.

So long everybody.

You dont listen.

You make us waste all the time we spent training to fly Triage. You have done it before many times, and people said well that's just Eve. You gave us nothing in return for the money we spent on that time. You ass holes.

You offer to allow us to extract that wasted time and sell it. Good fuckin job. You ask us to pay an equivalent amount to the money wasted to un-waste the time spent training it. You greedy corporate stooges.

You then steal a portion of that additional money when we want to reinject it back into the new skill which replaced the old skill, forcing us to spend even more to get that lost sp. You **** all over those of us with progressively longer time spent training in this game.

I hate you.

CCP just in-case you have missed the MOUNTAIN of criticism the new camera is getting I will link the thread for you.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=468482&find=unread

There are a number of complaints but the chief one is BRING BACK THE LEGACY TRACKING CAMERA !

There you go.. now you cant say to the executive producer that there were minimal complaints about the new cameras in the February feedback thread..

For those of you that wanted this BS buy skillpoints feature put in, you shouldn't be complaining when they make some of your training obsolete by splitting your existing skills and putting new ones in to make you have to train to do things you were already able to do.

What exactly did you think was going to happen when they added a way to buy skillpoints? Well of course they need to think up ways for you to buy them like making more of your existing skills obsolete... I'm sure this is just the beginning.

Yes they have done this a bit before in the past but I'm sure we will be seeing alot more of this in the future as it opens up a ton more revenue for them.

Oh the new camera sucks ........ it resets itself constantly
