Burner Changes 10th November 2015? Question to CCP

Hi.
I actually did tons of burners.
But today already the second time I almost cannot break the tank of the logi in the burner Veng mission.
I did this mission for sure 30+ times and my fit always worked (unified daredevil). Just today already the second time I really cannot break the damn tank.

So question to CCP: Did you change something today? And how the hell shall I break the tank of these thingies if not with 90% web and 360dps +oh.

Edit: Okay confirming Burner Veng logi tank A LOT more since today. Still doable with unified Daredevil but you will have to almost burn out your guns for the first logi.

Okay I did burner worm already 20+ times but seems CCP buffed the dps. That thing aphad me almost today. Was in 90% struct with first hit. Survived only with overheat all (fir was unified DD

Edit3: Before DT Today the first burner veng logi needed around 20 shots to go down.
Did the burner VEng two times after DT today and the first logi needed 60 up to 70 shots.

Burners will also get a 95% dps and 65% resist/hp buff in December.

FYI, the burner Worm is unchanged. OP got an unlucky (or lucky since he survived) double tap if his hardeners were on/OH. I've had that happen to me twice before, both times I was not as lucky Smile

Ran the Worm just now, no extra damage taken on first volley.

No that is wrong.

There is not enough income for or two or three players to ever bother.

If they are buffing them that much without an increase in rewards the intention clearly is for people with two or three ALTS to run these.

I have no idea how that will improve game play.

The few people that do currently blitz them solo and make huge profits will just switch to bringing in alts.

Seriously - if you have corp mates online and are fleeting up there are far better things to do than grinding level IVs.

I'm not going to say they don't need some kind of nerf, but taking high end solo content and making it middle of the road group content just seems wrong. Hell they do that and how many people are even going to run it? Remember that time loot spew was going to get people to team up for exploration Roll That said if this comes with burner agents, and I can form up a 4-5 man gang to roam around and crush burners then it has a chance to be interesting.

I'll admit I'm kinda bored with burners. I'm trying to get group burners going in signal cartel. Some of those runs are very possible to end up in low/null sec. But requiring burners to be group play is well, against nearly everything the mission system currently is. I wouldn't mind some sort of change to pve in general to encourage more groups, but to randomly change something and not say anything is not the way to do it. Plus I think it is good to have some accessible solo content. Players can't always log in for 10 hours a day or commit to a multi-hour op.

I don't have the stats, so it is very possible that not enough people are running burners so some one at CCP thinks a mix up might get more player interaction with the content? The only evidence I can submit on that front is that most of them have been sitting near max lp rewards. I'm not sure why the blood and gurista versions are lower, maybe there aren't even enough people completing either to raise the rewards more, or maybe people have found cheap setups that can run them? Forums are a small slice of the player base after all.

All I can say is after playing with burners this last year I'll never be able to go back to mindless red cross shooting. If they do make changes I'll have a lot of liquid isk to play with.

A this point without any evidence for either of his claims I'd probably consider it Trolling and/or rumormongering. Should probably flag the post as such, just causing negative knee jerk reactions.

I mean it'd be interesting if it were the case and having decently paying 2 to 3 man content would actually be fun but burners don't pay out enough currently to justify using alts, never mind another person. People who aren't currently running burners will not suddenly and magically start running them then either. Also anything that requires 2 to 3 people can be done with alts.

The only thing the current change/bug did to team burners is raise the skill level required to run them and make the time to run them a little bit more random but that is all. In fact it spurred me to make a hybrid polarized/ecm fit that over all might be faster than what I was using. In classic Eve fashion it backfired quite spectacularly.

The problem is if the change was made on purpose, not putting it in the patch notes is extremely bad dev communication and is a horrible precedent to set. It makes it impossible to trust any patch notes published by CCP and thus trust CCP on nearly anything. Next time someone complains about stealth nerfs all I'd be able to do is shrug and say, 'they did it with burners, it's entirely possible they did it with null anoms/complexes/incursions/exploration/etc.' or 'It's not in the patch notes? That doesn't mean anything'

Yep, the income is not enough to justify teams of players with the high SP and capital required, they will go run incursions.

However MORE IMPORTANTLY just dumbly increasing DPS and EHP would actually encourage ALTs not teams.

To get people to fleet up the income needs to be appropriate AND the content needs to be something that requires the focussed attention of multiple humans. Super chunky burners is not going to provide that content.

Well at least I can confirm the changes to the Burner Veng since DT yesterday.
Did Burner Veng three times after DT yesterday and killing the first logi will take something like 60 shots in comparison to 20 shots before. Additionally you need to burn your guns to 80%.

Burner Worm seems to be sometimes bugged having extreme alpha.

edit: Captain Ron seems to be trolling :P

edit2: Can plz someone from CCp say anything? Is this intended (nothing in patch notes) or a bug?

Hey folks, as Ploing mentioned here, I've observed no differences between the burner missions before and after the Parallax released.

Lets confirm a couple things before we continue:

- Burner missions should be entirely unchanged after Parallax
- Any changes to Drifters would have no effect on Burners (Drifters use a completely new AI system)

That being said, it's clear people are experiencing something different after this patch and I'm looking further into this to find out exactly whats going on. To that end can people please post the fits they are using that are now not fairing as well after the patch.

For the burner Veng mission:
Before the first logi took something like 20 rounds to kill with overheat.
Since yesterday it takes around 60 rounds overheated ending mostly with guns burnt at around 80%.
Did it four times now since dt yesterday and it was always the same.

Worm seems to have sometimes extreme alpha sending you directly into structure with one shot.
Happened only once.
