Absolutly garbage Ui.:

Cant see chat tabs blinking
Cant really see how the tabs seperate,
Default color is sh!t brown
Cant tell what tooltips do what because there should be some color for quick refrence...
Wish there was a way to turn down eves brightness or gama, or something so my eyes dont burn from it being so F'ing bright...

Seriously. give us an actual Video control section, where we can adjust video settings in the client.

Someone broke multi-sell.

  1. Quantity and price are now unlabelled and
  2. When you sell one stack they are vertically stacked.

You could easily make a sell order for 20b ore for 6 isk or 6 ore for 20b isk by mistake.

Windows 8 + 8.1 barely cracks 15% market share after more than 2 years since the introduction of new interface:

https://venturebeat.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/os_share_october_2014.png

And that is because it's being shoved in with every new computer / laptop.
If it were just about people upgrading or choosing their OS at computer buy time, it wouldn't even made it to 5%. Even with all the improvements to speed, new devices support, etc.

WHY?

Because it's interface sucks, plain and simple !
And, similar to this thread, while there are various trolls claiming " It's great, it's fantastic, I love it "... MOST PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE IT.

The world is beautiful, colorful, alive, three-dimensional... our brains are adapted to that.
These "modern" flattish ugly interface are an insult to our collective intellect.

Seriously, is there such a massive shortage of artists that everyone can only do monochrome pen and pencil designs ? Seesh ...

THIS IS REAL

This is NOT real (Scene from Equilibrium Movie)

Because i'm not reading 20 pages of replies, my apologies for the redundancy if it is one....

Are we fixing the fins on the huginn at lower graphics settings?

**Adding an actual Bug **

When at the Character Selection screen, I changed the Display Adapter to another screen. After doing so the graphics did not load with exception of the EVE Online logo at the very top. (I accidentally clicked the center of that screen when switching back for the screen shot, the circle in the center is the loading indicator during my panic screen shot after i hear 'CONNECTING' )

Hi CCP!! o//

I dig you guys... and well... Amarr ships look really bad - @#%$ing terrible - on lower settings, but the red and gold amarr ships look absolutely amazing (so do Gallente ships - like wowowowowow!!) on high settings, but high is now unplayable for me (on a lower end PC). Highly impressive work on high settings though, and the Gallente ships look kinda cool in matt in lower settings. Although ti really do not like the ceramic look of the other non red and gold Amarr ships.

Nice work on high setting. Thank you very much. But eh Amarr ships on lower settings - truly hideous. Someone said he felt his Executioner was borked now. Tha's sad.

The minmatar ships look fine, on high or low settings, but really clumsy on mid settings, like mismatched. they look black and white, and not rusty or silvery at all. They look dark and grunty on low settings, and nice n rusty with nice silvery bits on high.

I love the map, it's quick to pop up, appreciated, - really... and it looks very, very promising - guess stats will come? Exciting feature.

I am neither here nor there about the UI, although I don't agree that the colourless UI makes buttons more easily recognisable. Buttons have their place so it's np. I like the blurry transparency, that's nice. I do feel sorry that bronies can't has pink and blue UIs no more. but maybe give em back RBG slider?

The white bands and the blacks blocks of neutral colour on the Caldari ships have #@%$ed them up and the Blackbird hull is #$#@. Looking at the hull in game is another thing. i dislike it more than the old hull in fact. I want it to look like Caldari, not like some Mordus bewhiskered hybrid. I know there's a connection there to Mordus with Caldari but idk, looks more Mordus than Caldari because of the whiskers thingo.

Are all new ships going to have a whiskers habit as badly as many have a drone habit?

I am super super super disappointed by the changes to Caldari colour schemes on ships, it's a bit like painting the gold and blue on orcas, exhumers and hulks a while back, when they are indy ships, and are just work horses, not dandies. The Venture and the Bowhead have it right, in fact the Venture is spot on since Rhea, kinda grubby looking, very nice. The Vent. and Bow. are painted indy, and look the part.

The large bands of white and black on Caldari ships is extremely unlikable. Like the indies mentioned above, they were fine without a new paint job, and the paint job just covers a nice texture to the gray metal. I am mystified - like really - by this poor work compared to the excellence of other racial ships, and on any setting, too.

Why do such a crap job on Caldari ships?

The white lines need to be thinner, more concise, show an angular attribute, not be sloppy and they look really dirty. The white and black just fill a space, they do not have any conciseness and design in and of themselves. Like, the Kestrel is idk... confused? It would look better pink! And the Tayra, oh pls, those bands of white noooooo!!! The Rokh has a nice balance of this added white cos the lines are tight, and it is minimal, like Caldari design. Raven looks alright, but again the white and black are just filling a space, and it's lazy.. The battleships are uninspired, but the frigs dessies and the cruisers er crappy... WHHHHHHY?! Amateur paint jobs. Sorry but far out.

Caldari ships were super nicely balanced in terms of shades of gray before. The texture of the metal is really nice, why hide all that with slapped on white bands and blocks of black? The grey shading worked.

I've never been so impressed by devs, and re: an EVE release, I have ever felt so much admiration for what is done superbly. When I look at old screens of EVE, I go Jesus, this game's come along way - how well loved it is!! You guys add wonderfully, meaningfully, to a game that I love more and more each day. There are some things I didn't understand, like fatigue, but I see it's been a good thing (and I've learnt a lot about being blown dafaq up :) ). and it is good.

Truly, thanks for everything!! o7

The actual design is to me a classic icon design. For instance street signs have a plain design with a limited range of signal colors like red, yellow, blue. The main icons are mainly black on white (here in Germany). And this has a reason: easy to learn and decode and more important: to keep in mind. I don't understand the issue people have with the new, much better icons. They are all easy to read and the whole GUI is much better for the main gamplay.

Don't know if that has already pointed out, but besides a lot of ships looking like untextured models with only normal mapping applied, the advertised ship paintshops in the AUR store look completely different from how they are actually rendered by the new (broken?) render engine in space. Eg. the Wiyrkomi has lost it's camoish look and turned in a flat green. You can still get the real look if you click the picture tho. But as customers spent real money on that eye candy, maybe it is not completely irrelevant to them that the new renderer is messing with colors. Thats if I'm ordering a blue car and I'm getting a green one.

I shouldn't let myself be bothered by this, but I am just the same.

Everyone who is currently complaining that the UI sucks should realize that a change to the UI was announced weeks ago in a dev blog. Or even months ago if you care to read Fanfest reports. Pictures and all. The new UI has been on the test server for almost three weeks in various iterations. And trust me, the very first iteration was many times worse than what we ultimately ended up with. Icons were absolute garbage, the transparency slider did not exist and neither did a way to turn the blur effect off. Text was completely unreadable in some cases.

It was thanks to a couple dozen dedicated testers that the UI became something presentable and usable. And while it may be something radically different from what you're used to, it is by no means bad. The UI was almost 10 years old for crying out loud, it was in dire need of an update.

Point being, don't be some kind of *sshole who storms the forums the second something changes to complain and make all kinds of demands. You want to have a say and give proper feedback into changes for EVE Online? Keep track of Dev Blogs, poke your nose in the Test Server Feedback forum every once in a while and actually help improve the game. In my mind you have absolutely no right to complain, much less demand anything, unless you've used at least one of the many platforms the devs offer us to provide constructive feedback. And you should be damn happy they even give us such a platform because most game developers would push these kinds of changes half arsed and not even bother with the feedback to begin with.

And even if you do want to provide feedback in this thread, don't act like some entitled little capslock brat. You have something to say? Say it like an adult instead of crying 'omg I hate it! I hate it! Whheeeeeee!' and going out insulting the devs who made this game. Show some f*cking respect.

I've previously commented on the new PBR feature to some extent, so I'm not going to go into much detail other than to echo the majority of sentiments expressed here: Ships are either now too shiny, too matte or too 'plastic' - and they all share a loss of detail due to the new PBR process or outdated textures. Since it's been relayed that this is just the first pass, I'll reserve final judgement until the next update. In the interim, several unanswered questions:

1. When are we going to see ships rendered with high-resolution textures as an option?
2. When are we going to see a prototype of the ship painting/customization feature?
3. When are the new battleship skins going to be released?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Massive change just for the sake of change ?
And no, what we had before yesterday is not that old, it was changed several times (subtly) and people enjoyed the improvements, or got time to adapt to it.

How about doing it like this:

- Introduce a radical new UI as a "beta" option and let people actually PLAY the game with it, not just take a quick look on SiSi not really doing anything there...
- Start checking statistics... how many players are using the NEW, how many are using the OLD
- Keep improving based on feedback and new ideas
- When the "New" becomes used over 70-80% it's clear that it's well received and tuned enough, set it as default for everyone who hasn't change it yet.
- Still leave the option to use the old one for nostalgics
- When the usage of the old version drops below 10% or so it's clear that people like the new one and are not interested in the old one anymore. NOW you can actually remove it from the game.

Remember "The DOOR", or the "Gray guns" ?
I have a feeling something like this will happen again.

I was looking forward to the manual flight controls, but honestly they don't seem terribly useful as implemented. The biggest issue is that there is no way to tell which way the ship is pointed without zooming in and staring at it. Even without manual controls being able to tell which way you're going would be useful.

Any chance of getting a velocity vector or something like that visible when you're zoomed way out to 40k/etc? I thought that one of the dev blog videos suggested that there would be something like this...

Something being intuitive means you feel familiar with it even if you have never seen it before. Intuitive doesn't mean you can get used to it. I got used to both vi and emacs and non of it qualifies as intuitive.
