Now that you know this, what do you expect from a minute company such as CCP that relies on the services of others and that (by design) has no redundancies for its core service.

to my knowledge its almost impossible to defend againt a DDOS while maintaining services....

Oh well, guess nobody wanted to play Eve today anyways...

Going to write a letter about how my credit card companies website got ddos'd so I can't pay sub fee this month.

But I'm sure since CCP can't deliver the product I pay for due to ddos, they will certainly understand when they don't get their payment for the same reason, so I should be good...right?

According to the guy doing the DDoS attacks in EVE and other game servers:

"Why do we do it? Multi-million dollar companies aren't spending your money to ensure your game has good service. DDoS is so old it's funny."

It's business, as always, be it RMT or trying to sell some expensive tool against DDoS, it's pretty easy pretending to be some 14 yo kid scripting in a post here and there, but if you shake enough the light can turn on.
