I had that issue a week ago, after installing a new pc, 64bit win7. Had to re-install EVE 3x, and had to make sure it was NOT installed into the default .../program files (x86)/... but .../program files/..., or it would not work at all... Due to that issue, I cannot even run two accounts at the same time...

So, if all else fails, uninstall, make sure all the leftovers are gone, then download latest client and install fresh... Your problem has nothing to do with the issues CCP is dealing with right now...



yes i just finshed reinstalling eve , double checked for left overs ,tryed to log , still same problem :-(

I dont think its hacked but if you are concerned about using the launchr then dont. just open the folder eve is in and launch it directly from there you dont need the launcher.

Should we expect continuing dust related problems making eve unplayable?

Such a bad idea, Dust money could have been spent on Eve.

Or ... the Dust issues were caused by Eve issue and much easier to fix.

Could even be that in the process of fixing the Eve issues they fixed the Dust as a side effect

Everyone looses access to Rookie Help Chat channel after 30 days, so if he's still in there, then yeah, he's a noob! And if he's the one who was blabbing in mentioned rookie chat channel that the Russians had hacked the system and were now in possession of all and everyone's login details, then being called a noob is the least of his/her worries:)

Dust uses CREST to connect to TQ...it is possible, while unlikely that CREST was interrupting the TQ connection to the rest of the world. You can imagine an egg, TQ is the yolk and Dust through CREST is like a shell around it. If it's acting up then TQ could as well. The priority is to fix and rule out any connections to TQ, which at the moment is dust and CREST. One that is fixed, if the issue still exist, then tackle the actual TQ heart. Sorry, but that will usually be the case in troubleshooting eve connection problems. Don't like it? Too bad that's how things are. If dust had its on server and TQ was linked to it through crest then eve would have taken priority as its the easiest to solve and rule out.

After Many MANY launcher restarts, I had to run the exe file directly, which let me logon, the launcher kept saying there was no connection...

for those of you who want to know how :
C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe
there you go, it will let you use the old logon before you logged on with the launcher.

Fly safe everyone, and I hope CCP fixes it soon.
