Launcher not working? - LOOK HERE

Hello there,

This is a mass reply sent to all petitions concerning the EVE Online Launcher. An issue with the content web server has resulted in some problems which are made apparent by the launcher, while this issue is being investigated please be aware you can bypass the launcher by using the ExeFile.exe which can be found in the "bin" folder of the client directly.
Locate the folder where you installed EVE. If you are not sure where that folder is, see http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_default_directories
From the EVE installation folder, open the folder called “bin” and there you will find the ExeFile.exe

Yeah, I computer hard so my profile on my box is an administrator so I keep forgetting the whole "Run as administrator" thing since I turn all that protection stuff off because is annoying.

I ran repair in Admin mode, launched and it gave me no connection to content server but it didn't launch the launcher. It was a small box and on it I had an option to load EVE direct. EVE is up, it's all in the launcher content.

Yeah, the problem is most people are prompted to patch and the patch just sends them back to the launcher and they get stuck in a infinite loop. The only way to fix at that point is to run the repairer like I posted earlier in this thread.

The repair tool fixed it for me eventually. Took four tries, though.

Worked, thanks a ton for your help... A simplified version though if you didn't quite understand it (hurt my head.. Yep ima idiot)

1) download the link
2) find the launcher file (from where you downloaded it)
3) Send launcher to taskbar/desktop/whatever

Not quite as effective.. But yea

Nice patch !

First I do not wish, desire, or want in ANY form to be logged on to ANYTHING besides the Client !


HOW do I deactivate that feature that I do not WISH, ASKED, or desire?????? I DO NOT (as in NOT !!!) want that ! ! !

and like most... Eve patched itself out of function...

when I do that and I log in it says the server status is an "incompatible (protocol)"

EVE Launcher deployment on May 21st
"We’ve also included a new self-update mechanism in the EVE Launcher,
which will make the update process for the EVE Launcher itself more reliable
and allow us to deploy more updates as we work on improving the flow into the game."

Who of us here asked about a self-updating launcher,
your just asking for troubles with that aren't you guys,
and making this with-out a backup-plan is just stupid.

And when the site/forum is to crowded again, it has that "we were ganged site" as a replacement.
That's oke, but in cases like this update your facebook and twitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new launcher is unsatisfactory i was only able to log in after real life help on ts this is really frustrating and needs repaired quickly as this is a game that i pay a lot of real money to play as do many others
so get this fixed fast please

I'm way behind the times with computers.

So far what I have is to try to launch the launcher twice. Both times it said 'Cannot connect to content server'.

It took a while to get there. Did the launcher update itself and then die?

Should I try creating a new link to Eve.exe (the launcher).

Ok. I managed to run Repair for the 10th time.. it was slow and I just waited probably for a couple minutes and suddenly it start running 'normally'.

Now I can run Eve from Exefile in Bin directory... But I will not even bother to go to Launcher.

CCP - please give us advanced notice the next time you want to 'improve our game experience' by upgrading launcher. I would like to line up Battleship V or Command Ship V prior to the launcher 'upgrade' please...

It seemed to not work for me too but I then went to the BIN folder and booted the game from the exe file there and it worked. Try that mate.

This does not highlight the issue that the 'upgrade' cause the client to be corrupted and need to run Repair tool.. And for some reason, the repair tool will need to be run a couple of time and with long delay before it actually repairs..
