OP if your corp lives in provi than chances are they already have a logi system in lpace for bringing goods from empire to null.

Just ask your ceo or a corp officer.

Black frog your ships and stuff to a station you can access near where the fights happen you want to be a part of. enjoy!

If a heavily contested system is camped by the enemy stopping you getting in, they are doing it better than you, collect up a few buddys and take them on!

Saying you cant get into a fight for any reason other than the system is on tidi and lagged to hell, is silly.

pvp is about doing it right as much as it is not doing it wrong! :P

for the past 2 days i have been trying to get into a location to try pvp, how the hell am i supposed to enjoy pvp when i can't even get into a location to try it. Gates are camped, anything that moves through the gate is destroyed. Sorry but i just cannot see the point in buying another ship for some campers to pop.

I understand completely, since peeveepee only happens in that one single system in all of the Eve Universe. I guess you'll have to biomass your toons, cancel your account, and go back to WoW.

Confirming that all gates are perpetually camped in all types space making it totally impossible to do PVP anywhere at all.

I'll try to be less mean that other posters, but TBH, none of them are wrong either.

BEFORE you undock. Check the map. It has filters for number of ship jumps in the last hour/24hours, you'll see if it's a heavily trafficked system. Filter for ship kills and pod kills in last hour. If you get a giant red balloon, chances are the system is hot, whether it's gate camped or not- stay out unless you are prepared for serious PvP against multiple foes. In Null Sec, nearly as many pod kills as ships usually indicates a camp using bubbles.
You need to find a system that has traffic, but few kills. Not NO KILLS, but a few probably indicates local pirates- this is who you want to fight.

Go there and look in local at bios. Find a pirate (negative sec status) and convo for a 1v1. Most likely they'll happily accept- pirates just want a fight, which is hard to get in low sec. I lived in Molden Heath as a pirate, trust me on this- you WILL get an honorable fight if you ask. They are pirates, they aren't afraid of you..or losing a ship. I'll name-drop here....RANSM, BRRC (my former corp), among others can be counted on for honor duels. Put your pod in a safe after losing (which you likely will) and chat. Pirates are really into PvP and geek out on numbers and fittings, they will talk your ear off with advice.

Alternatively, go to null sec and camp a gate yourself in a cloaky Interdictor (very easy to train for, all newbs should train for them really). Set up over the gate and cloak. If something comes thru you can take on (other destroyers, frigates, miners, haulers) then decloak, bubble, lock, kill, laugh.............if it's too big, stay cloaked and watch it warp away.

Best of all- join up with others and storm into a system with friends. FW militia isn't my favorite place to find a fleet, but it's designed for that purpose. Just have to be patient, poke veterans to form a fleet. Lots of good pilots there, don't be afraid to ask questions between fights. Many pirate corps specifically look to take on newbs since it takes only a couple weeks to be flying frigates and destroyers well and they tend to fly those mostly. Sort of the anti E-Uni. Although E-Uni itself is a tried and true entity training PvP all the time in dedicated educational fleets.

GL, stick with it. Eve needs more PvP'ers.

I guess, if inarticulate ranting by a quasi-literate imbecile constitutes "ownage". Lol

Yeah, because there aren't other ways into Provi. That aside, the gate camp hasn't been created that can't be successfully navigated with a little bit of skill. If you handle it correctly the campers need to be good, and also very lucky, to catch you.

Also if you want help, post with your main so we can take a look at what ship you're trying to PvP with.

Getting through a gate camp in a Hurricane is much different than with a Rifter.

Wait a minute... Am I the only one that noticed that the OP wants to get into PvP but is making a ragepost about being ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN PVP? PvP isn't (usually) a couple of honorable dudes taking up pistols at dawn under predefined circumstances. PvP is viscerally tearing at one another until it stops being funny.

Gate camps are part of it. I love gate camps. Gate camps have single handedly lead to almost every one of my fiery deaths (of which there are many), but that is part of the game. When I feel like shooting at people, I load up a cheap frig with cheap mods and fly around the gates in Amamake, because everyone and their dog is looking for a fight there.

If you want PvP, EXPECT PVP. Don't expect people to work to deliver you a fair fight. Expect people to take every opportunity to bone you over, and get good at being the better tactician. Until you get good, fly something like this that you can easily replace many times over. Some fights you will win, many you will lose (speaking from the experience of a mission runner just starting to get into PvP). That's part of the game. That's how it's supposed to go.

For your reference, here are some basic do's and don't's of PvP:

DO:
1. Expect to explode. A lot.
2. Try new things.
3. Take note of what does and doesn't work.
4. Accept defeat graciously; harvest tears from those who don't.
5. Enlist a friend to join you.
6. Ask those who know how you can improve. (Heck, ask the person who killed you what you did wrong. You'd be surprised)
7. When you do explode, think about why it happened (Most recently for me: Actually forgot to fire guns when activating mods. That was hilariously embarrassing.)

DON'T:
1. Fly something you can't replace many times.
2. Expect fights to be fair.
3. Expect a mission boat to work for PvP
4. Try to make fits cap stable.
5. Cry on the forums when you explode.

So don't.

You say your corp operates out of Providence. They probably have an office there. You can dock in a station, set your medical clone to an office in providence, try to get past them in just your pod. If they blow up your pod you'll land where you were already trying to get to....

Frankly, it's really impossible to do anything like "pvp" with guys who camp high/low-sec gates for a living. They know their game well, they'll have you scouted well in advance of you jumping and if they can take you, you're going to die.

However, despite the fact that they're all red and flashy and have macho sounding epeen in local chat, most of the low-sec choke hold campers are incredibly risk averse. If they have any doubts about whether or not they can take you then they'll scatter like cockroaches in the light and hide in a safe spot (or dock up to be really really REALLY safe like the ones in Rancer do) and suck their thumbs while you go past. They may try to smack talk in local chat while you're in their system but I can never understand what they're talking about with their thumbs in their mouths.

In any case, they will never EVER engage on anything but a sure win...

Which points to the 2nd way you can get past them. Enter with a fleet. They'll run. guaranteed.

the real issue will start if they don't run. it then means they HAVE (or think they have) enought reinforcement, somewhere, to take your fleet.

as you said, they are risk adverse, so the moment they look for the fight, you know what to expect!

As a rule of thumb: the more roundaround the way you take, the less the chance for gate camp.
Also going in right after downtime, right before downtime or very early in the morning will minimize chance you get screwed.
And ofc, cloak > camp (usually, good ones can still get you, but chance is much lower)

Bingo. Come legitimately asking for advice, and you will find it (along with some trolling, but that's a given regardless). Come whining about how you can't PvP because other people keep blowing you up will get you mocked, and rightfully so.

It's all about attitude.

Well I don't know if this will help you but this is what me and a friend did just yesterday and mind you this was my first pvp experience. I consider it one of the most fun times even though I wasnt able to kill anyone. We basically bought a stack of merlins and shitfitted them with t1 gear, set a route from our high sec hub to another high sec system whle changing the star map settings to allow LS entry.

We basically knew we were going to lose the ships and didnt care much for it cause they were cheap and replacable however from simply going system to system I learned hoe to narrow down targets using the d-scanner and system map browser open. What endedup happening was that we engaged a nemesis that was used bait and upon engaging we got jumped by a t2 cruiser gang. Suprisingly they tried to ransom our t1 merlins... I pretty much said f*** off and proceeded to mutilate their t2 drones (couldnt really do any damage cause of their tank) and got blown up. It was a great experienc and I am looking forward to more pvp.

What I'm trying to say is that you have to not care about dying first and make sure you can replace your ship and that's when you'llstart to learn what and who to engage!

Just imo... Good luck! P
