So I downloaded the patch/update yesterday of 1.21 jiggawatts or whatever... played for a bit then went to bed.

Today I try to log in from my desktop shortcut and/or the programs bar - the launcher opens and gets stuck at 0.0% of Validating client.

Is it an extended downtime today or something? or is my client just screwed now?

Cheers.

The message that pops up is:

URL could not be reached -

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/457724/Repairdata_457724.dat

Obviously my interweb access is fine and stuff. Cheers.

CCP, I gotta say im a bit disappointed. so yeah great that new eve launcher. It should download all the patches automaticly etc.
But what if it does not?
Ive looked tru your whole website searching for a way to manually patch.
So eventually i find a page called patches under the download section. awesome i think.
But again not:
Quote:
Patches for Tranquility
Updates to the EVE Client will be done through the launcher from now on.

Ok fine, but again what if it does not download the patch?

Thirded.

After trying for the 9th time, a popup screen appeared with exceptions and gave me an option to start eve anyways. So of course I start eve. It plops me to the login screen and it tells me that there's a new build available (oh hey, old school updating here. Didn't realize it was already Retro). Needless to say, it's not working.

Hypothesis: CCP may have accidentally the day 1 bug fixes

Fourthed.

It seems CCP's content distribution network is down. I tried pinging the server but it doesn't respond to anything. Sad panda.

I noticed that all of the groups I had my drones in are now remaned. All of the drones in the drone bay have been moved out of their respective groups and are now in the drone bay. For example, I had an Apoc with 5 scout drones, 5 light armor main, and 5 shield maint drones. The groups they were in were named by their function, and now the names have been changed to something completely different. Also I can move the drones into a different group, but when I go to move the 5 light shield drones to a new group it is saying that I cannot group drones of different types. Obviously I am using drones of the same type, so this is not working. In instances where I had about 10 different groups for drones (carrier pilot and all) ALL of my groups are now gone and replaced with random characters for names??!! Will I have to recreate all of the group names again?

Uses more ram. Game is slower. Changing ships in pos is laggy. List of chars in the channel are totally messed up every time i rellog client. Loggin in takes longer. Damage bar in Npc ships are not readable ( definitelly too small ) . The sound of dieing ships and jetcans are just annoying ,,,, bang bang bang. Why do I have to hear the sound of that bloody flagging NPC every few seconds ?

well..after a few tries...

There was an unexpected error while retrieving update status:

Unable to download file /457724/evepremiumpatch457724.exe from the server.
Error: [Errno socket error] [Errno 10060] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond: 'connect operation system fail'

Do you want to go to support page?

erm...

what puzzles me is I see 20774 players in the server?

Shocked

Mac client here - black screen issue.

Yesterday patch was working.
Today - a random disconnect while in mission.
Log bag in - a black screen. Totally black. Can hears sounds. Can hear my ship being attacked. Can't see anything. No overview, no controls. Nothing. Just black.

Log off. Restart computer. Restart client. Log back in. Hear ship warping, but screen is completely black again.
I try to wait and see if it will fix itself, but I can hear that I am going to lose my ship. I can do nothing since I can't see any controls.

Log off.
Try to restart game on a PC so I can save my ship.
Patching -> "cannot connect to server" (I patched on that machine yesterday so I know it's not my settings.)
Try to run Eve multiple times -> "cannot connect to server"

Things are broken, guys.

Gone through a total system and line check, yet still keep getting this same situation, have another computer running several other accounts on EVE that worked just fine yet this the primary system server cannot connect to EVE servers.
