After a night of fixing small stuff, the new website is live! Please see http://www.evefit.org for the new fancy eve database as well as home of pyfa.

I agree. A uniform damage pattern by default is much less useful than a "worst case pattern". Many times in PVP you won't know what kind of incoming damage types you'll be taking, so a special pattern selection that reflects the worst case scenario is very helpful as a baseline. It ought supplant and supersede the uniform pattern as default, as not only will you never receive uniform damage in eve, but in actuality, the worst case is what most people are trying to reflect.

Also, a "worst case pattern" is not something you can set up practically, manually, with the percentages. Uniform damage is something you can do, as well as all the others. So, +1 for the worst case pattern.

good work with the page. easy to navigate and fast. (some of the dl links are broken)

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

You have a point. Might look into it (no promises)

I just untarred the latest version on my macbook air and it doesn't start. The icon keeps bouncing in the dock and then just disappears. When i run it from the commandline i get this

110-26-178-46:~ j0rg$ open /Applications/pyfa.app/
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/pyfa.app.

Anything i can do to troubleshoot this ?

The bundle doesn't seem to be complete. The pyfa.app/Contents/MacOS/ directory is empty, there's no pyfa.app/Contents/Info.plist either.

Not sure how much work it would be to get the bundle fixed up, but hopefully this info is helpful for someone that has the time and know-how.

Thats info I need, thank you :) I'll have a look tonight

Update: I've just looked into the build and all those files do exist when checking the file with 7zip/winrar on windows. Perhaps there's a weird bug with the default mac zip utility or something ?

I 'fixed' the problem by doing chmod +x /Applications/pyfa.app/Contents/MacOS/pyfa

Maybe the default unzip/untar utility does not preserve the execution bits ?

Also, now that i have it working i noticed that it is not possible to assign a fleet booster using the track pad. I right click on the fitting and select 'squad booster' but that doesn't put the fit in the fleet window. I also tried to right-drag-click the fit to the fleet window but that didn't work either and even made pyfa crash a few times. Other than that, still a great little tool though !!

I'll have a look and make sure the execution bit is set in the archive too.

Is it possible to encode in Pyfa to store fittings in Pyfa directory ? At it really sucks when operating at 2 computers...

Can you please think about it during next update ?

Add --root as argument when you start it up.

Hey, having issues getting this to launch under OSX. I had a previous version which was working perfectly. Deleted the old version, copied the new version to my applications folder and now its not loading at all. Tried an older version as well... 0.9... still not working. Also tested under OSX Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard on two separate machines... and still not working.

Any ideas?

*EDIT*
OK, noticed a previous post regarding this issue... can confirm "chmod +x /Applications/pyfa.app/Contents/MacOS/pyfa" is solving the problem.

Most likely, your theme doesn't display it

Tried different GTK2 themes - all the same, no menu.

Archive should be fixed, by the way.

EDIT: could someone confirm this please?

Hey!

First of all, thank you for this awesome tool .

Secondly, I sadly got a bug I can't get rid off. Someone else already mentioned it either here or in the old thread, but I can't import the XML files I get from exporting fittings in EVE. Most of the times I try it nothing happens at all, once I got the "Importing..." message, after that the fitting did not appear in the list.
I am running the latest build 1.1.10 on Windows 7.
Any ideas?

Regards,
JG

EDIT:
SOLVED.
Just went to the IRC and together we came to the conclusion that apparently cargo information in the exported XML file break the file for pyfa. After removing the cargo entries from the HTML code I could import the file without problems. At least a workaround for now. Hope that helps you to find a fix for it :)

Thanks a lot for Pyfa, it's a great program.
