Finally, tbh. I never understood what was so difficult about it. With this you are regaining some trust, but its a long long way still.

The best Dev blog I’ve read from CCP in a long time, it takes a big company to forge ahead with a plan they think is right, but an even bigger company to admit they ‘got it wrong’ and will rectify the mistakes.

Now dear CCP, please get this on SiSi as soon as possible so we can test it and this time if we report a problem (not only a bug), read what we have to say, give us feedback, ask questions and please, please listen.

Well done so far Big smile.

Excellent changes !
This is what i wanted all the time since incarna came out.
New turrets are very hard to distinguish when you look at them on market or on fitted ships. If you don't know the names of turrets is super hard to know what size are they.

Now all we need is a little better rewards for 0.0 and a little better anomalies for -0.3 systems.

As for the new fonts, i don't like it very much.
Maybe you can use same fonts as they're now and make 0 and O more visually distinguishable.

As Visually Appealing Incarna is for the most part it has been Fluff, however I do believe that once Incarna as a Whole is Released and we are able to walk around stations and use station services such as bars etc.. then use of the CQ would be more widely accepted.

This is a good blog. These are the first steps in erasing the memory of Incarna, which is a worthy goal.

Please make the zero stand out more from capital "o".
I can tell that the new "o" is a bit rounder, but not by much.
Maybe add a dot in the middle of zeros, like old VGA textmode font, or a slash.

B looks fantastic!

The zero has a slash through it, so it should not be confused with O.

In my opinion this is the worst choice of font. I dont think EVE needs a new font but I'm ok with changing it unless it for something far worst!!!

This font is... how can I say it... to tall and to light(weight). In small sizes you cant read it, but if you increase size to be readable it just becomes huge!!!
Applying bold on it just makes it even worse!

Dont believe me? Why dont we see sites and applications using this kind of fonts? They are very hard on our pour eyes! Just get a few people with eye problems and all of them will say that the font is not very good! It tires the eyes after a few seconds!

Just my 2 cents

Quote from the dev blog about the font:
" The font is, for example, sitting a bit too high at the moment so it seems like there’s not enough space above it at times, but that will be fixed."

Nice changes overall! With the new cynoeffect maybe add in a new jump effect too?

Added specular light from indirect light (spherical harmonics)

Thanks, CQ performance was too high.

Other than that, congratulations on doing the obvious, i.e. reintroducing wanted old features and fixing cosmetic annoyances.

So they are only reverting back to the old turret icons, not the old turrets themselfs right ?

nice to see it is going to the right direction again...
"ship spining": nice!
new fornt: nice!
new cyno effects: wasn't really necessary imo, but ok.
turret icons: the problem was not that the icons were 3d rendered; i see two points here: the icons were poor in contrast - too many details but not enough space in a tiny icon...and the renndered turret moddels themselves are difficult to distinguish..
imo: the idea making new turrets is ok, but the design is...well..not on the same level like the rest of eve design. somme of the turrtets look more like a part of a fire dept pump car than like a "weapon" turret..
their design simply doesn't fit the eve universe..(lasers are ok for the most part, hybrids are horrible(again!))

CCP, thanks for listening to your player base. this is something that truly sets you apart from other game designers (even if we do have to kick and scream to be heard sometimes). please keep up the good work and please keep listening to us. Big smile

TLDR; We wasted 1 year developing things not related to EvE that nobody wanted with your money. We kept going with those developments even with 95% of the playerbase complaining about it and demanding REAL game improvements. When we realized they didn't fit into the game (we didn't even bother with quality testing), we are going back to what you had 1.5 years ago. Oh and keep playing please.
