so the yacht looks like its gallente but it uses beam lazors... does this mean there are going to be two new pirate factions one gal/ammar one minnie/calrari? could the winners of the design contest be the ships for these new factions aswell? like the tornado being a mix minnie/caldari faction....

I agree on that too. Frankly to be honest i dont understand the commotion about the new icons... i have no trouble identifying
them at all, so PLEASE make it optional to switch to old icons.

Thanks for meeting us in the middle with the stuff that really matters.

I would like to ask though, is there also work going on to optimise the 3D models for the quarters themselves, as people have been checking out the wireframes, and expressing the opinion that they use far more polys than they actually need, even for a current 3D game.

Please make the zero stand out more from capital "o".
I can tell that the new "o" is a bit rounder, but not by much.
Maybe add a dot in the middle of zeros, like old VGA textmode font, or a slash.

That's some exciting news even if most of it is "reverting back to the old stuff". Upgrading the icons was a good idea in principle. With changing staff and time passing it's hard to keep the style and feel of hand-drawn icons when adding new items. Perhaps rendering them with different shaders (e.g. cell-shaded, blurred textures, etc) could do the trick of combining the best of both worlds?

When you implemented CQ, the official reason for why small ships are dynamically being moved closer to the runway, was that people couldn't see all the detail of said ships otherwise. Now that ship spinning is back and we can look at those ships from all sides and can zoom in as much as we want, can we expect a different behavior in CQ mode? The advantage of the 3rd person view is being able to get a sense of scale... but as it is, this is not possible. There are two ways of achieving this: The simple one is placing them all at the same spot. The superior one would be placing them all right next to the runway in such a way that the hull is always the same distance away and extending the runway so that we can walk the length of the ship... in other words: Having a ship that's actually docked and not just floating around somewhere.

Last but not least, the pod structure should be moved inside next to a shower. The current placement makes no sense. Even if you like having random capsuleers stare at your ass while they're docking, it's no fun dragging all that slime across your living room. Gosh, just look at your own promotional videos to see what it should be like. :)

Lovely blog CCP torfin it is great to know that CCP did listen to the thousands of complaints they recieved rather than just waiting for them to roll over.

Community team needs a pat on the back for getting this message to the managment / devs and to a lesser extent the devs them selfs for bringing back the old content :D.

I thought the nanites in the pod cleaned and dressed you, so you stepped out of the pod as we see the avatars.

Edit: And I thought the promotional video was the activation of a Med clone, not a normal pod exit.

Wonderful news!


It is not just the news that are good (new font, new cyno effect, new old hangar functionality, reverting some change that was disliked etc.) but even more important that it is the first time (together with the Fanfest blog by CCP Tyr) since quite a while that the players have the feeling that CCP actually listened to them and based their action straight away on their input and not on some fancy ideas from whoknowswhere.
