Why didn't you vote at the last CSM?

A contentious point evident in many threads on the CSM and it's relevance.

I'm eager to identify whether people did not vote and if not, why not?

Nullsec democracy is an oxymoron. Bloc voting for alliance candidates is Democracy for Morons 101. Let them perish in their self-interest.

Bring back Eve. OUR Eve.

I did vote. But having been at fanfest and talking to CSMs I'd vote differently today.

I had only been playing a very short while and did not feel I knew enough about EVE Online to vote for something that could change it. This time around I will vote.

I will caution you though, you are asking this question on the forum. It is a self selecting sample of players who are already more passionate about the game than most others. That said, you are also more likely to be trolled.

So don't base anything semi-serious on this forum thread. Fair warning Lol

I also voted, what is it that you would have changed?

Apostle, if people are apathetic to forums I'm guessing they will be apathetic or indifferent to voting or even understand the current issues. Questionably you could say the same for those who do use the forums. Anyway, seems that you might be working against a conditional probablity of getting an accurate picture and therefore a reasonable understanding as a result.

Likewise the same with the current motivator posts in the CSM forums encouraging people to vote. You'd think they would understand that people interested in the CSM or the voting process might actually visit thoses forums and therefore the idea of getting them interested in EvE politics is pretty defunct at that stage.

However, some of the posting regarding the CSM if posted here is simply chucked into those forums by the moderators, so its kind of pointless or potentially self defeatest to try to encourage activity related to it I guess.

Why do you keep creating more threads?

If you want a tangible incentive to encourage voting...

... Give everyone an "I Voted" sticker below their Likes count that stays year-round.
That would certainly validate some people's opinions, well those that felt voting is not important can have an appropriately smaller soapbox for their rants on the CSM in the future.

Please explain why you think he shouldn't. Then limp your scared ass back to your propoganda machine with the understanding that the goons suprisingly do not own the EvE General fourm.

CSM turned into a Alliance lobby niche, it's useless and need to be reviewed.

I didn't because I didn't care enough at the time. This is a game.... if CCP can't make it work well enough with or without a CSM then I'll leave. I did not have the time to actually look at each person in the running THEN judge their viability of getting into office THEN vote for the one that most fitted my mindset and was likely to actually get enough votes that mine wouldn't be wasted.

It's fine. Everyone who plays EVE is able to consider the candidates' platforms and cast their votes. The only "problem" is the fact that players with numerous accounts get more votes, but that sort of weighted voting is inevitable — for one thing, it would be impossible for CCP to sort out, since many players have two or more accounts; for another, players with more accounts arguably hold a larger stake in the game than do players with fewer.

Ultimately, these complaints about the CSM are really complaints about large, organized groups whose leaders make their pilots aware of political goings-on and encourage them to participate. There is no way to review, prevent, solve, nerf, or otherwise change that.

The effective counter is to organize your own large group of constituents united under a single banner.

Can you point out to me this "propaganda machine" we have? I seem to have missed it back out the http://goonfleet.com forum.

Given your lack of awareness to the above, I would suggest starting with Goon Education 101 first.

To be honest might be more worthwhile investing energies on encouraging people to vote?

( But I guess we need to disect all possible reasons why people are people in EvE to do this. Roll )

I'm trying to however considering you don't understand the meaning of the word propoganda, I thought I would go back to base principles.

Given that the Goons claim to be a politically militaristic organisation i would recommend the idea to your superiors if they haven't heard of it. Blink
