Are you getting logged out between hitting reply and post? Or something else?

I clicked the "Keep Me Logged In" check box when logging in and haven't had an issue.


if you take too long to hit "post" for some reason you end up refreshing to an empty "post a reply" screen and the data does not post.

it is sort of like your session timed out and hitting post auto-logs you back in but resets the page

I use Firefox. It has the exact same issue. I have started to copy every long post before submitting it. That way if it gets eaten, I just paste and post.

But.. its a pain to have to do it.

Yes, we do.
Occasionally.

In fact, about as often and as random as it used to happen on the old forums.

Then you have to either go back in browser history (while NOT using a lame browser that eats up the text fields) and hit post again, or anything else with a similar effect.

I get the "we were ganked" page randomly. However, there's a clear correlation between the time it takes between hitting the reply button and the post button when it comes to posts just getting eaten (i.e. just being taken back to the empty reply field or an unedited quote, depending on what you started with) - unfortunately, this obviously is most likely to happen to elaborate posts unless you go afk in the meantime... (guess it has something to do with https trying to do a new handshake after a certain amount of time has elapsed, but then again, I have no clue about the internets...).

Had this happen with IE as well as Safari on Iphone and Ipad (not that it bothers me all too much - if I write a long post on any forum, I copy it prior to posting anyway...).

Hey, I don't really mind much... I use Opera and I have the savetext extension, so I just have to hit "post" twice, I don't even have to go back one page.
