I don't think that is about any session timer. It seems to be quite random. What?

Simple fix for me just to be sure: I copy the whole post text before submitting. If it screws up for whatever reason I just go back, paste and edit (if required).

I'm confused.... (just don't tell Fallout she will make fun of me again)

Are you getting logged out between hitting reply and post? Or something else?

I clicked the "Keep Me Logged In" check box when logging in and haven't had an issue.

Steps to reproduce.

Step 1: Hit reply.
Step 2: Type in a well thought out post.
Step 3: Go away for 20 minutes.*
Step 4: Hit reply.

Viola, your entire post is now gone. You never log out, but your post gets eaten. nom nom nom

*You don't even need to go away for 20 minutes just don't do anything forums.eveonline.com related. For example, lets say you're fact checking yourself, or proof reading. Suddenly you well thought out and perfectly sculpted post gets eaten.

Sounds like a quality new feature to filter our those annoying 'constructive' information filled posts. I for one welcome our new draconian measures against the intellectually constructive wall of text posters.

I found it rather clever. Extend the max length of posts to 6000 characters, limit the time you have to type them. Causing any actual post longer than 4000 characters void and removed meaning all the posts that previously would've been long and database consuming now turned into short two line tl;wp(too long wouldn't post) versions in their second iteration.

Who needs content anyway? =)

Old forum saying....

A good post is like a good skirt. Long enough to cover what's needed but short enough to keep it interesting.

If it really takes you that long to say something, you're doing it wrong.

Is it your stance that nobody has ever taken 20 minutes to write a short post?

Highlight entire post and either hit "control-c" or right click and "copy" before you walk away to drop a deuce or something. That way you can paste the entire wall of text again with minimal anger. Backups are your friend ;)

I do that if I spend an exorbitant amount of time on a big post, immediately after I'm done before I post, even if I don't leave my desk for something.

I do assume that the average forum user can type more than 3 words a minute, so yes.

I was able to reproduce this issue and sent a report to the forums team. I hope that it can be fixed soon.
