Version 8.0.0.14 is out

  • Added new options in the 'Tool' tab to control the transparency of the background as well as the Speed of the News ticker at the top. Those values are persisted between sessions
  • I fixed the issue with the autoupdater. From now on, the Alpha will auto update properly to the latest version on startup
  • I added support for the tool to check the installed version of the .Net Framework. The error reported by yutsaku looks like an incompatible .Net version.
  • I added a Maximize button for those that want full screen.

In case anyone wonders why I am not fixing bugs, I am actually working on the bugs, but they are kinda hard to reproduce on my machine.
I think the biggest one (crash on Notification tab) might actually be caused by regional settings.
So I am going to have to change a few things on my machine to try that, and right now I cannot. Maybe this weekend.
That's why I am fixing minor things left and right meanwhile.

Uploaded 8.0.0.16.

Fixed a couple of issues:

  • Fixed Border loading with Regional settings
  • Prevented ProductData window from opening automatically all the time (It will re-open only if it was open when the tool is being closed)
  • Handled potential null exception

Version 8.0.0.17 is out.

I fixed several issues related to Regional Settings. Borders should properly work now, as well as loading data.
Try again things that caused crashes and tell me if they are ok.
I am wondering if I have to fix the API data with regional settings too.
I will check that next.

Sorry for the lack of news, I need to take a small break from working on the tool as something urgent came up.
Nothing bad, so don't worry.
Hopefully I should resume development on this project soon.

Long time no write.
I do apologize for the long pause.
Things happened IRL that impact my life and my family a lot (nothing bad)

But, I am now considering coming back to EVE on a more permanent basis.
Which means I would most probably spend a few evening per week on the tool when not flying.

To this end, I am prospecting for a corp to do fun stuff.
I am not much into pvp
More of a miner, mission, pve content.
But that does not mean I am not open to pvp either.

I do prefer high-sec, if possible, because I would not like to be stuck with all my stuff in low/null-sec if things go sour.
I play EVE for fun, not to get stuck in a station waiting for a storm to pass (which happened to me in the past when my corp was under war and we had to hide because we could not fight back...)

Personally, I am a friendly player, I can use voice chat if needed.
I do not back from a fight if I am pushed to it.
And I do not hesitate to help my friends in need.
In another game I was given the title of Berserker Bard (because reasons Twisted)

If you are a pirate/warring corp (spending most of your time at war) do not waste your time on me. Just a friendly advice. Big smile

Version 8.0.0.18 is out.

  • I have made a potential fix to the issue with the border some people have. Keep me posted on the result please
  • I have also fixed an issue with the Suggested not showing the proper settings for the raw resources.
  • Lastly I have added a small but useful feature to the cache data in the Tools tab. You can now specify a system to get the prices from.
  • The idea is that you open the game, open each of your planets, then check the market price for each of the PI commodities (you need the list of sell/buy orders, not just the generic view). Then you go refresh the cached data in the tool. After that if you use the suggester for your cached planets, you should get a proper evaluation of what would be the most profitable to produce on your planet.

Status update:

Completed:

  • ESI API support to load market data.
  • Centralized the region/system settings for the market data so that it is less confusing as where to set it up.

In progress:

  • Speed up ESI API market data loading. (Right now it takes 1~2 minutes to load because of the number of products to check. (It's loading in parallel to the UI to not lock it so you can continue to use the UI while it is loading the data). I have a couple of ideas on how to speed this up, just need to get to it.
  • Extracting the products images from the tool and put them in a separate folder/library. This should reduce the size of the tool in itself, and also allow you to add you own product to the tool (ex: ships,...) along with their icons (you can get them from the resources files CPP graciously provides)

I hope to have those 2 items completed either tomorrow or next weekend.
After that I will take a look at a couple of bugs I noticed while playing with the tool.

I found the issue with loading/expanding some planets.

First there was a typo in the way I handle High-Tech Facilities.
It is actually High-Tech with a dash... Roll
So that is fixed.

Second, there is an issue with ordering the structures in the case of planets that are only transforming products, not producing them (no extractors).
This one is a bit harder to fix because of what I am trying to achieve visually.
I am working on it and I hope to have it fixed tomorrow.

I have a new version coming out probably this weekend.
I made some improvements to calculating cost/profit.

I uploaded a new version of the redesign.
I have improved the way profit is calculated when you decide to produce/buy parts of the production chain.
Now when you select 'Buy', anything behind it will be hidden from the tree to make it clear that you are not buying that.
And in the Product Data window, the change on the Average Profit is immediately updated. (You need to fetch the region prices first by configuring the Prices settings Tools tab)
Check below the screenshot to see the difference.
