EVE Planetary Planner - Redesigned Beta version available

I uploaded version 6.7.

This version includes some minor bug fixes.

And also a new small feature.
There is now a new tab available 'Tools'.
On this tab I will put various small utilities (as I create them).

For now the only tool available is to compute the duration until the next 'whatever' day and hour you want.

I tend to let my plan run from saturday to saturday.
So I can take my time during saturday breakfast to put together my production plan for the week.
But, it happened a few time that I actually messed up my plan.
And I had to go midweek to stop the production line and fix/change it.
Then I had to think (or take note) of how much time was remaining on the previous plan to always finish the production around the same time on saturday morning.

Or, I simply get busy during he saturday morning with the familly and I forget (or simply do not have time) to reset my productions for the week.
So when I can get ingame later I have then to calculate how much time I want the production to run.

With this new tool, simply select the day and time you want the production to finish and it will tell you the duration you should set your extractors to.
It will give you the extact days/hours you need to finish right on time.
But remember that the longer you run the extractors the more time it takes for a cycle to complete.
So you might not be able to put it exactly at 5 days 11 hours, but you can set your extractors at 5 days 10 hours or 5 days 12 hours.

I hope this will help you as much as it helps me.

I want to say thank you to Maratega for his bug report.

That bug is now fixed.

He also made several suggestions for the 'Find' feature that made sense.
So I decide to implement them.

Now on the 'Find' tab you will see more filter options.
You can now filter that systems by:

  • Security level: you want to perform PI in those.
  • Fly through: you do not want to do PI in those, but you can still fly through to access other systems. (ex: you want to do PI only in 1.0 systems, but do not mind flying through 0.9 system to get to those 1.0)
  • Avoid: You do not want to fly in those.


You can also choose to see filter the systems for those with and/or without stations.

The settings are saved and loaded automatically.

I forgot that there is a another feature in the last release.


You can double click on the rows in the Find results and it will open a browser with the link to the EVE Dotlan map of the system you selected.

I found a small bug in the 'Duration Until Next' tool.What?
I was not calculating the number of days/hours properly.
Now it is fixed and accurate.

Is there any plan to sort out the UI in the Planets Plan tab? With the window maximised the Planet frame doesn't scale so leaves me with 3/4 of the screen filled with blank space. Perhaps make the module frames (extractors, routes etc.) collapsable too, routes especially involve a lot of scrolling right now. The actual simulation is great, there isn't another tool that does this as far as I know but it's not very user friendly at the moment.

It was long overdue, so I finally added the wormhole systems data.
So happy PI for all of your WH travellers.

You can now find WH systm (ex: J100033) and use the data for the reverse lookup

Yes, I have been working at some point on a new version of the interface.

But the lack of time on my side and interest on the tool users side kinda made me loose interest in it.
Yet I am still toying with the idea of completing it at some point.

I know that the planner UI is not that user friendly. (Hence the work on the revised UI)
So I might do an 'in-between' version until I get around to finish the new UI.

I finally got around to create the suggestion algorithm.
But there is a catch to it.

This version will only for for level 2 products (ex: biocells, mechnicals parts,...) that can be produce entirely on a single planet.
Meaning that you extract everything needed for this product and make it on the planet (no offworld processing).
It was the easiest version to make for a start. (I will try to have the other product levels at some point)

How this new feature works ?

  • Go onto the Suggester tab.
  • Select the type of planet you are interest in.
  • Match the sliders of the Raw Resources to those of the planet scan (yes, it works so well that it can be accurate per planet)
  • The list of products that you can make on the planet you selected is displayed on the right side.
  • For the algorithm to be the most accurate, you should input the price at which you would consider to sell of each of the products listed (easiest way is to go to the ingame market and check the price)


The suggestion algorithm will them propose to you the best products to make on the planet based on your settings.
It will also show you the evaluation index that it computed for each product so that you can see the different between each product.

So how good is this algorithm ?
In my opinion (and not because I am its creator) it is extremly accurate.
Because it actually suggested that I change the production of one of my planet for another product that I did not take into account.
Which actually makes me pretty happy and proud. Big smile

BUT (there is always a 'but' isn't it?) remember that this is a suggestion algorithm.
You are free to do what you want.
And if you follow its advice, I am not responsible for any lose of isk that you might have. (and I doubt that you would actually lose isk by following its advice).



There is also a second small feature that I added to the 'Find' tab, now each system will show the number of connected systems.
So if you want to find a nice system away from the travelled routes, this should help you.
You can also use it for finding nearby deadend system to mine if you want. (That's actually a side effect)

A new version with some new features is available.

The main changes are:

  • Added current cycle display in Planet Data popup
  • Added support to pre-fill Storages (Storage Facility, Launchpad)
  • improvements to the Run algorithm to make it more robust and take into accounts the pre-stored Resources.

The first one is just a minor display fix and some bugs fixes in the way the Planet Data popup was working.

The second one might interest more people because now you can make plans without extractors.
When you add a Storage (or edit an existing one) you will see a small icon inside the storage on the left side.

Click on it to open the Storage content (Screenshots)
In that popup you will see the current list of Resources stored.

Clicking on the 'Add' button will open the 'Resource Selector' popup.
In that popup you can select the Resource you want to add and it's quantity.
The volume of each Resource is shown because you cannot 'overifll' any storage.

Once you have prefilled your storages, you can simply run your plan like any other plan with extractors.

I hope you will find this new feature usefull. Big smile

I added 2 small features requested by Professor Frank'n'Furter:

  • The link in the 'About' popup is now clickable to open the website directly
  • Starting this version the tool will now completly auto update. For any future version, after agreeing to install the latest version of the tool, the tool will automatically download the new version, close and restart with the new version.

Hey there. First off Id just like to say thanks for this great tool Ideki.

I am having a bit of an issue with the planets planner atm. When I have been setting up a test plan to check on outputs and such i get an error:

PI run error

I have seen from the old thread that some others have experienced this error also but I have yet to find a fix for (other than just filling the launchpads).

From what I understand it is caused because the initial cycle does not have enough product to give all factories in my setup enough to run. If your tool could take into account the cycles after the first i think this might help resolve the issue.

The basic setup I have to test with is 1 launchpad 1 extractor (10 heads) and 9 factories. I have multiple planets set up like this that then route what they all make to 1 production planet with factories to make p2.

I've been using a test amount of 2million P0 to start it off with 2 day run times, this sets the per cycle to 20833. As you can see this doesn't reflect how PI extractors actually run as you will know that they extract more to begin with and then lowers as time goes on.

What happens is that i cannot use the production data function due to the error the lack of product causes in your tool.

I have seen that you are trying to get PI info into the API i hope this happens as it would probably solve a whole lot of issues that people might run into :)

Thanks for this tool! I am getting back into PI and I think this will be very useful.

I was looking on the website, and I see a HowTo that explains the Production Plan tab.

What I don't see are HowTos that explain the Reverse Lookup, Planets Plan, Notifications, Find, Suggester, or Tools tabs.

Are you going to have HowTos for these tabs as well? I feel like I'm just blindly clicking, hoping to find out how these other tabs function.

I have been working on so many version that I just forgot and got lazy about it.

I will try to update it too. (along with fix that error that people keep getting)
