Even CCP has made it clear, Eve is a sandbox where the players can follow any career they wish and that does not limit them to just PVP.

While this is true, CCP has also most clearly stated in their new player faq that EVE is a full blown pvp game at it's core. Any new player not reading the new player faq of an mmorpg... *shrug*.

As far as corps and wardecs go: A corp is just an ingame asset essentially. If you cannot defend it, it goes boom.

Problem starts, once players begin to attach emotions and / or memories to it. Maybe CCP really should think about implementing some sort of social club you can join. But functionally that shouldn't exceed a sort of a badge, that gets attached to a character and an additional, separate chat channel.

Remove standings and insurance.

Well, currently there are large numbers of players who hide in NPC corporations so that they cannot be wardec'd. Does that benefit the game? Wars are just a mechanic that is currently used to provide a steady stream of easy targets. You enjoy that. I will be in my wh system where it is relatively safe compared to highsec. lol. At least in wh space I can make enough isk to cover the cost of a ship if I should lose one.

To end the wardec arguments once and for all, the game should print in blood-red in the corporation application page that "Once you accepted to join a player owned corporation, other players can pay Concord a fee to ignore their aggressive actions to you in high security spaces."

Damn do you behave like this in real life or is it only on the net because you know they will not come and put a straight jacket on you. /.../

/.../ the problem is not the game it is the immature ****** way most players treat each other in this game no one seams to be able to use the brain /.../

Also show people eve has a grate community and if your 30+ bloody behave your age your not 5 your a full grown adult.

Are you implying we are not treating the game seriously enough and thus we are immatureShocked?

no Im implying eve players take the game way to serious and because we are on the net people think they can behave how ever they wan´t so they behave like assholes or immature. When I play Pay day 2 with my 2 pals we behave like we would around friends a bit silly and try to have fun we don´t call each other bad things nor we we don´t internet bully each other because one play with pistols and another one with shoguns. We don´t tell any one how they should play the bloody game.

I don´t understand why people are so bloody hooked up on how other people play eve.

why? The wdec is just mechanic introduced at some point. Why should we assume it is perect as-is?

It is a fact, not an assumption, that players should know to make informed decision.

To follow to an earlier question about getting constantly wardecced: I used to get wardecced all the time. At this point I just evade them when they come or play an alt. With WHs, low-sec, and alts you could happily run around all day avoiding wardecs.

For lulz I tried to find the posts from my first wardec on here when I was a noob miner: http://eve-search.com/thread/969783-0/page/all#38

TLDR: We got war decced, I moved 20 jumps away and made even more money than I had before, laughing all the way.

Yes you can. With WHs, low-sec, and alts. Can hisec-carebear though?

Or stay in High-sec if you want. I've done it for years.

With contributions like that no wonder the thread is just awful. So the 'using brain' decision is toget out of highsec, which brings me back to my original statement, get rid of wardecs or get rid of highsec, at least then player expectations would match reality.

Don't need to do either, both mechanics are conceptually sound, they just need to be better thought out and adjusted for balance.

Someone asked above, why are other people so interested in the way you play this game?

Well, the answer is simple. Because it's a multiplayer sandbox, a single-sharded one in which every piece of mission loot you sell on the market can be bought by someone who might be a threat to me; one in which those minerals you're mining might go towards more ships for that same enemy or, conversely, more ships for me, or for any number of people that could have dramatic effects on the wider game as a whole. You might be here for just the PVE, you might think that by not shooting at people you're no threat and therefore shouldn't be shot at yourself, but you are wrong. Every single little choice you make has an effect, to some degree, on other players, and like it or not, you are doing PVP by virtue of logging in to this game.

That is the reality of EVE.

I could stop playing tomorrow and have no effect on the in game market. Saying that using the market is pvp is almost laughable. Market trading is not pvp, it's market trading. Yes, what I sell or buy comes from another player, but the market for near anything is so saturated that I alone have very little effect on prices. I mean sure, siting in a trade hub 0.01 isking is market pvp, but I don't think that's what you were talking about.

The same can be said of anyone. It doesn't matter, every small contribution that one player makes adds up when combined with the contributions of others. Your argument that 'one person wouldn't make a difference' applies to literally every aspect of the game. The fact that one person CAN make a difference is enough. And no, market PVP is not laughable at all. Some of this game's strongest competition is price competition. Don't believe me? Try doing some real trading for once, some high-volume stuff. That is PVP, player-vs-player, direct competition between players, that is the very definition of PVP. If you've limited your own thinking of PVP to combat only, that's your own problem, but it doesn't change the simple fact that every element of this game, by virtue of its very core design, is PVP to some degree, and whether you like it or not, you consent to that PVP by virtue of logging in.

Don't want PVP? Don't log in to EVE online. Because despite IZ's assertions to the contrary, that is what this game has been, and has meant to be, from the very beginning.

When this type of thread gets beyond a few pages (or sometimes a few posts) it starts looking like every other thread on hi/lo/null decs&ganks.

Just no. You do not change the game to match player expectations, you change it to make it better.
Don't you know anything about human nature?
Heaven is a place, where nothing can ever happen. Paradise on the other hand is where the environment and your needs meet perfectly.
Hisec needs to be a sorta safe shallow rookie pond. Lowsec is where you flex growing muscles. Null and WH are the real game.

People who stay for years in hisec become fat prey that encourage parasites and predators. The whole hisec ecosystem beyond rookie level stuff is a miserable joke.

Luckily, that miserable joke isn't really eve, just the troubled starter area.

Get out of hisec for rice caeks.

Gunna be honest, new players shouldn't be creating corps and then trying to do their own thing like that, that's just kids with egos, inadvertently ruining other peoples experiences of the game. For instance, a carebear CEO of a HS corp i know, 2 weeks ago put a raitaru up, with no defences in a LS region owned by purple helms. Obviously he lost his structure and got salty about it, claiming he's going to take revenge etc.

As far as "bullying" goes, this is an online spaceship game, grow a spine and stop being a whiny baby about this crap, the amount of potential and freedom you have in this game, is almost unlimited, and if you're too simple to figure out a way to get the upper hand, and all you want to do is cry and get salty, you need to either find another game or get it through your head that it's a dog it dog game, and there's always a bigger fish, so rather than getting salty and cutting yourself, take advantage of every opportunity you can, and go hard for what you want or where you want to be.

Unlike in life, in EVE you are given the exact same amount of SP and ISK on day 1, and so long as you're not russian, most people will be happy to help you out and answer your questions.

This is the problem when the game sets up a false expectation of highsec. But yeah, every human should change to fit eve and not the other way around, cause logic. Have fun going through this same circus again and again.
