That sounds more like an 'opportunity' to me! Big smile

Well it is also unfair.

More information:
I was able to "fix" it for me, by simply logging in and out a couple of times and then deleting all those "enemy" tabs and adding my own chains again.
Also tracking does not work for me right now. But setting destination through TW does work.

I can't log in atm. Trying to log in with SSO, asked to authorise as usual and it just loops to the homepage. Anyone else getting this?

This morning Tripwire was still having memcache session issues so I scraped the memcache and went with a new dedicated Redis server.

The new server configuration is live now and seems to be working well now - please reload or log back in.

I will continue to monitor the servers very closely today.

Another Tripwire patch just released!

Features:

  • Wormhole Type and System Name autocomplete revamped
  • Combat sites now link to eve-survival page
  • Fixed the admin active users list
  • Automapper ESI fixes
  • Signature add/edit ??? now selects on focus
  • Signature add/edit now trims whitespace from Leads To
  • Updated jQuery & multiple plugins (performance improvements)
  • Fixed JS errors from age countdown

This patch is mostly about updating libraries & plugins that will be required for fixes and features coming down the road.

Additionally, testing database load on keeping long term history has gone well and additional long term history will be expanded upon in the near future to help expand corp admin reports and tools.

Servers have also received some tweaks to help keep Tripwire fast and stable.

Does this include issues with EoL holes? Setting a hole to Critical mass AND time would set a timer for ~12 hours or so, not the expected 4 hours due to the time destabilization

Nope, that was not what that fix was for. I will look into that issue and try and get a hotfix out soon - thanks for letting me know about it.

Another Tripwire patch day:

  • SQL query re-writes (Chain map layout will change slightly)
  • J015092 statics changed from J244, Z060 to N110, Z060
  • Flare toggling fix
  • ESI updates per CCP changes, goodbye OPTIONS calls

The undo/redo feature is not restoring the leads to - this is being addressed in a future release.

As for frequent "ESI connection issues" messages, it is there to let you know when Tripwire is having trouble talking with EVE - if it becomes annoying simply remove your tracking characters for awhile. I have been working with CCP to help improve Tripwire to ESI communication but it is a very new API, so please be patient.

You also may notice Tripwire is a little faster lately - this is thanks to some server configuration changes and MySQL database optimizations.

Forked Tripwire's: The database changes are still ongoing, please cherry-pick from this release as the SQL query optimizations require named indexes (avoid this commit or make fake indexes).

Anybody else having this weird, but really annoying problem of having random k-space connections you have visited (and temporarily marked as favourites / starred) keeping their status as favourite systems even after removing them from favourites?

What I mean is when I click 'Add favourite systems to chain' by clicking that star-icon just above your chain, it now shows how many jumps it is to 10+ totally unnecessary K-space systems, when it only should be showing the usual Jita, Amarr etc. (which I HAVE as a favourites)...

These random systems are obviously no longer starred, and if I try to mark them as favourites once again, they appear as duplicates when looking at favourite systems in the chain...

This first occured maybe about a few months ago.

Very strange issue - it may not be something we can track down and fix easily so it might be just faster to reset your Tripwire settings. If you go into the Tripwire settings there is an option next to "Save" to reset - just be sure to go back and "Save" after because the reset is temporary incase it doesn't fix your issue.

There are plans to re-write the code behind the Tripwire options that store settings such as your favorite systems because it is still setup to work with the in-game browser (which is gone)

Thanks, resetting did the job!

I've tried to reproduce the problem but no luck so far. Multiple tabs were definitely open at the time though, and the focus might have been switched away from the 'starred' system right after another pilot that TW was tracking at the time jumped into another system somewhere else...

Not that this is much of an issue (especially when so easily fixed), but hopefully it still gets found :]

Tripwire release today includes the following changes:

  • EVE Scout Thera wormhole signatures are now visible to everyone (read-only)
  • Tripwire layout is now saved per browser (you can have a desktop layout & a mobile device layout)
  • System change now updates the URL (reload after selecting a different system no longer takes you back to Jita)
  • System search in the top bar no longer reloads the page
  • Chain map tabs are now easier to click (tiny delay added to drag-n-drop reorder feature)
  • Tripwire options fixes, IGB support removal
  • Autocomplete no longer goes behind the dialog
  • Chain map tab switching fixes
  • Removed some deprecated code

The Tripwire wiki is finally starting to progress thanks to Ashley Traynor - more on that soon!

Excellent QoL improvments, and thanks for the swift help this evening on the ES masks issue.

I'd like to say thanks for this tool. I've used it ever since I got into wormholes which was... well years ago.

I have only ever needed a thing to show me which places are connected to which other places with pretty lines.
Tripwire does this wonderfully, and earns bonus points with mass / time tracking & player location tracking and all the other features that exist.

Was going to ask where the donation thingamado is but I finally found it lol. As unobtrusive as it could be at the bottom of the page, where donate buttons should be.

Anyway keep it up. I used to map this stuff out with ms paint years ago. Drew little flowcharts just like Tripwire does, just not as pretty. Your app is passive and does it automagically on my second monitor. Makes flying multiple characters around at once a breeze. I think Tripwire's done more workhorsey stuff for me than the actual EVE map has, perhaps just as much as the probing window itself over the years. So yeah, thanks.

Small question. The sig and type ID... is there a way for that to populate automagically as well?

This made my day today! <3

Sig ID can only be auto-populated by copy & pasting scan results into Tripwire. Sadly there is no way to auto-populate Type ID.

I am using Tripwire for over a year, I'm in a second corp that uses it full time.
It is of tremendous help, I want to give you many many and huge thanks for creating the tool and keeping it alive.

If I please may, I'd like to voice few things that could be added, 2 are small things and 2, well, just please give them a thought.

1) Would be awesome to be able to mark wormhole doors as "smallest ship" can pass only, even when the hole in question appears as K162 when approaching it after scanning it down. Being forced to jump to the other side for the wormhole code to properly mark the wormhole relatively complicates things.

2) This could have been fixed by now so I want to apologize in advance if that's the case but system effects need to be revisited and corrected if necessary. In particular Black Hole systems give a boost to targetting range but Tripwire says (or used to say) there is a penalty. I remember checking it in game. I believe this list is still correct about system effects http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Wormhole_Space#System_Effects

The bigger things to consider...

3) I know there are many tutorials but an interactive tutorial resembling that of Discord voice chat's program would be magnificent for the new users. Many huge thanks would be given yet again :)
Or you could pick the tutorials you like the most and include them on the login page and some space somewhere when people are logged in. Tripwire got so big people don't learn about it from forums or you tube but from other people too, getting new people up to speed in pleasant way would be of great value, with Tripwire being crucial part of wormhole life.
I know of course now I can just give links to tutorials but it never hurts to ask :)

4) Would be ABSOLUTELY amazing if wormhole doors' masses and max jump mass of a ship could be included somewhere for viewing. Something I don't think I had to deal with yet is wormhole regeneration so maybe it could be an option to add too? This list is pretty good for that http://www.ellatha.com/eve/wormholelist.asp

Thank You very much for all your hard work! I really do hope you can and will continue to be able to bathe in 1000 US dollar bills from the jobs Tripwire gives you.

Thanks for your feedback Beetle! I appreciate your kind words :)

Responses to your questions:
1.) This is getting added along with the ability to enter full signature IDs (optional) AAA-123. About half way done w/ code
2.) System effects can be updated, not sure if they are in code or loaded from DB - hopefully someone can make a ticket and look into this. https://bitbucket.org/daimian/tripwire/issues?status=new&status=open
3.) We are slowly working on this by adding to a wiki, eventually I will add this info to Tripwire itself. Something like Discord would be nice but hopefully we can get there. https://bitbucket.org/daimian/tripwire/wiki/browse/
4.) Mass tracking is already a feature and can be checked by right-clicking a wormhole system in your chain map and going to the "Mass" menu option. Its not perfect since I cannot get current ship fitting or active modules. Not sure about the mass regen either.

Please keep giving feedback and feel free to report issues in that issue tracker. Also if your looking to help even more I am always looking for anyone willing to help in whatever way they can w/ the project!

Fly safe!

A Tripwire hotfix was just released to address a security concern regarding the "remember me" login being exposed in a way that other mask users could potentially gain access to this data.

This was not a site wide or public hole, but specific to only the pool of active users in each mask.

Please logout and back into Tripwire to ensure you are completely safe from this vulnerability.

** The code fix can be seen via commit "Order 66"

First of all Huge Thanks for the Tripwire. It's fantastic.

Second - I have a problem since yesterday, it doesn't seem to track my in game system location. I have tried relogging a few times and restarting tracking but it doesn't seem to help. Guys from my corp seem to have the same problem.

Keep up the good work :)
