Sentenced 1989,

That's excellent news. I'm sure your standings is much better with Connections level 5 which is what the Factions, Corporations and Agents look at for access.

Gratz on a job well done.

Will have to do something about ammatar, but problem is that it takes quite a bit of hits on high standings.

Btw, as side note, not sure if it happens in missions, but in epic arc if you share the last reward, it shares faction standings as well. I shared Right to rule, and both my toons got 6.25% Amarr standings increase, the 2nd toon did not share and got normal 12.5%.

Great standings work. Thanks for the update.

In no time at all you'll be over +9.00 standing with the 4 main Empire Factions.

I wouldn't worry about Ammatar standing as long as it remains positive.

ISD Max Trix,

Thank you very much. I was mistaken and thought threads that were sticky didn't get locked. I guess after a set amount of time all threads, regardless if they are sticky or not, get locked. In the future I'll do my best to keep this updated and hopefully not bother you guys. I know you're all very busy taking care of other stuff..

Thanks again,

Been using this thread to help repair my faction standing with the Gurista's since we've recently moved into Venal.

Very helpful, didn't notice they locked it though! Good to see it won't vanish.

Taishoku Mayaki,

Thank you very much for posting. It's great to hear 'The Plan' is helping you.

This thread was originally created for players to post questions and comments pertaining to the Faction Standing Repair Plan. Obviously I didn't keep track of it and it got locked. However thanks to ISD, the thread is active again and I will definitely make it a point to keep this thread active and updated.

Thanks again.

Awesome topic !
Had some issues with derived negative standings disappearing and because of this post have solved the mystery. Who would have thought they were capped :)

Thanks DeMichael, it was a great help.

Does anyone know if you lose the same standing percentage when you fail a special mission - for example if one would give you 5%, upon failing it would you lose the same percentage?

P.S. I know you actually lose more the higher your standing is, that's why I am asking about the percentage. Like, if you are at 9.99 standing and you lose 10% you'd actually lose 10% of 19.99 standing (-10 to 9.99), or 1.99 which is huge loss.

That's a very good question. Probably why nobody has jumped in to answer it. I've been having some spotty Internet issues.

Anyway, sounds like you're talking about Cosmos Missions. I wanna say it's half of what was to be gained. I've never been in that situation so I can't really give a definite answer on the amount of loss. A Senior GM would know the answer.

The main thing is most Cosmos Missions can only be completed once in the life of the character for Faction Standing increase. Do not fail, quit, decline or let those mission offers expire. It could lock out access to other Agents.

Yeah, at +9.99 that would be a huge hit. Just have to do another run through the Epic Arcs.

If you follow up on your question with CCP and get an answer, please post it here so we can all be updated. Wish I could have been more helpful.

Yes, it was a COSMOS mission. For anyone doing them - be prepared for this outcome. Since you have to go through low sec many times there is always a chance of failing the mission. I have way to high standings - almost 9.90 and I could not afford to fail it so I just paid a lot of ISK for the mission item.

One more thing: always assume there is a cloaked heavy interdictor at the gate, so no matter how many warp core stabs you have, you'd be stopped. That's what happened to me. Pirate . My best advice is to check local and people's history on zkillboard if you really wanna pass with an expensive ship. Simply scouting ahead won't be enough. They have scouts on their own.

Also, bring an alt with a fast frigate - put the mission item in there, he will have much better chance on succeeding. I uncloaked my alt for almost a minute and they did not touch him, they knew the big fish was coming. If only I gave him the item... Big smile

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you completed the mission and got the Faction standing increase. It sounds like the Caldari Cosmos. Specifically the almost always camped Ihakana system which is the only way in and out of Otomainen system.

When I ran Cosmos, I first researched the Agents mission series, then acquired the items on my own as best I could, either by the usual seek and destroy run of the Complexes or if needed, purchasing the item from Public Contracts. Then I'd collect everything and do one run to the Agent and quickly complete each mission in the series. That plan worked great most of the time, however every once in a while I'd have to complete a special Security or Distribution mission.

Again, sorry to hear that and very good advice. I always used a Cloaked ship for running in or through Low Sec, mainly a T3 Cruiser. Usually I'd wait till just before Downtime or right after Cluster Startup to make my run. If I had to, I'd log out while in space at a Safe Spot. For Otomainen system, I researched all of the Agents there, collected up all of the items I could, then loaded them up in a Giant Secure Container and used a Blockade Runner to transport it to the system, made a deep safe spot, anchored it and went back for my T3 Cruiser.

I actually used my Blockade Runner to complete the last Empire Agent located in that system, an Amarr Cosmos Agent - Akemon Tolan who's trapped in the Prison (3rd) Stage of the Guristas Complex. I already had all of his required items and I thought it would be a cake walk to just cruise in cloaked, complete each mission and then warp out. I warped into the 1st stage cloaked, made my way to the 2nd stage gate without being decloaked by the NPC's, warped cloaked into the 2nd stage, did the same thing and made my way to the 3rd stage gate which wouldn't let me access it.

Not good, all NPC's had to be destroyed to unlock the gate. While I was sitting there cloaked deciding on what course of action I should take, 2 player ships came into the room and immediately started destroying the NPC's, I watched the show and when they accessed the gate to the 3rd stage, I followed them in cloaked and watched them destroy all the NPC's there as well. Talk about perfect timing, all I needed was access to the Agent. After they were done and warped out, I thanked them in Local for helping me to complete the Agents mission series. After explaining the situation to them, they commended me on trying a different approach and making it work.

Yeah, usually good advice. I think most campers are looking to pad their KillBoard count so they'll definitely wait for the ship following the scout. Personally I think if there was 3 or 4 players in a fleet running Cosmos, the campers wouldn't even bother with them, too much trouble when they can just wait a bit and jump on a lone ship.

In fact, the only scouting I did was with Starmap stats, never had an Alt scout. I did enlist a few friends to help out on some of the tougher missions and I did lose a couple of ships in the process of completing all of the Empire Cosmos Agents. My main reason for doing Cosmos was for the standings to prove that 'The Plan' would work. The 2nd reason was to acquire all of the Cosmos BPC's and last but not least, I enjoyed the story plots of each Empires Cosmos Constellation.

Anyway, I'm glad you were successful despite the trouble encountered. Hopefully you'll find some useful info in my reply. Good luck and much success on accomplishing your goal of achieving +10.00 Faction Standing.

+1 for the guide, thanks.

is there an in-game channel to hire mission runners and get a standing boost with certain npc corporations?

thanks
