I can see why this is a popular change. I too think it will make life easier...and that's my problem with it. Its another de-risking excercise within the gameplay of Eve.

Remember, for those who live in wormholes or nullsec, that you would have to plan your training and therefore have a mobile library of skills for when you could use them? And if necessary transport them about when you had to move. Now this is another simplification of the game. I doubt we will ever see a Titan skill book loss in a freighter KM anymore or any other significant value skillbook, why, cause now you can inject all the skills you will ever need from the safety of a Trade school, (not withstanding natural selection).

I am sorry for sounding negative about a feature that i am sure is popular and yes, i will use myself so as not to loose books in transit, but again i think we have removed another level of risk and its another simplification of the game.

Skill training was a unique focus of Eve including its planning and resourcing via books which had to be sourced and transported around New Eden. Well not now and i feel this is another blow to the uniqueness of the game. I would recommend bringing back pre-reqs for skill injection otherwise we have lost another logistical and planning element of the game.

Genuine question:

If I removed all the SP in a skill down to 0 through extractors, is there not a way to remove the now 'useless' injected skill?

I was hoping to correct some very old 'mistakes' and use the SP to sort out an alt - maybe I'm just OCD, but I would like to get rid of the 0 SP injected skills now... P

I accept that this has been discussed and dismissed on these forums in the past, but I too would like to be able to remove injected skills with zero skill points.

Hello, I love your game.

Firstly, please forgive any breach of etiquette in the location of this post. I am not really a forum warrior of any sort, and am not really down with the protocall.

The new camera is pretty sweet, but I can't yet use it full time. The 'look at' functionality doesn't seem to work while warping. I can not aim to D-scan while warping. If there is a way, and I am just missing it I am sure I will find out shortly. I feel like this needs to be an easy operation. -if it's not already and I am just derping here- With the current tracking camera functionality, it is as simple as clicking on what you want to scan I'd like that level of ease in the new system.

I have also noticed a minor glitch in the in station inventory window. I will give a lot of detail in case the ships involved have anything to do with it. Docked in a station sitting in an Epithal. While sitting in the ship I try to move items from the item hanger into another ship docked in the station -a sigil- I am given a message that only 5513 units can be transferred due to "No room for more in container" pop-up. (5,513 * 0.38m3 item = 2094.94 m3) If I make the transfer and then hop into the sigil it actually has 4,267.3m3 of total space -2 T2 Expanded cargo hold fitted, and there was one 5m3 module I had in the sigil's hold- strange.

I haven't done the math to see if it's not recognizing the Cargo modules. I am not complaining about this issue, it's not really a big deal. But I did want to make you aware of it if you weren't already.

There was also an occasional glitch in the fitting window. I have switched ships and then deactivated a module, only to not be able to activate it again. I know the fitting works, and there hadn't been a re-ballance. The issue was corrected by closing and then re opening the fitting window. I suspect that somehow the, cpu/power grid/slot lay out/ some limiting factor?, held over from the previous ship I was in. Once again no big deal -once I stopped pooping my pants- now that I am aware that it sometimes happens. Again I just wanted to make you aware.

I am unsure if I can repeat the fitting window issue. The cargo transfer thing happens every time.

Sorry so long, I figured while I am reporting, might as well get in all in.

Love being able to look out of the new structures. Have been longing for a "window" in my station -or captains quarters- for a long time.

Long live New Eden,

-Shaz

It's not Quite a glitch or bug. In order for the Cargo Modules to do their math and give the space, your pilot has to make said ship active. Basically, in order for % to happen and numbers get crunches, you have to put your tush in that ship's driving seat. Otherwise that's on mod that resets to neutral/not math-ing. This is a reversal of an oopsie I occasionally make, where I use another ship for storage while missioning, then have to unload some cargo as the Overdrive takes some of my space away and cannot undock to go sell the loot once I finally switch ships.

Brain in a Box get's very OCD with some fitting choices. Hope that helps somewhat.

1st: Thank you CCP for improving the game and for your hard work. I have two suggestions considering the new camera:

  • Bring the auto-tracking back. It was very useful for finding people with D-Scan, I think clicking every time «c» if you want to center on an object now does not improve the game experience.

  • My 2nd suggestion is more UI related: It's a bit a mess now with all the camera-buttons and to me not very intuitive. You have buttons for the scan/probing, autopilot, cargo and all the new camera options. I'd find it more useful to group the camera-buttons like you did it with the scanning/probing ones.

But that's it already. Keep it on! Cool

Please remove the floaty camera movement when the ship enters and exits warp. It gives me motion sickness. This movement is not present in the old camera and serves no useful purpose. I cannot play a game that gives me motion sickness.

So much this. I don't want to disable all notifications cos I use many of them but on alts Im not training atm this is so annoying.

I completely agree - perhaps CCP should implement a feature whereby if you are pod killed while having Level - 0 skills injected then those injected but untrained skills aren't transferred to your new clone and are lost.

I have to say my ship looks a hell of a lot better than it did a year year ago (except for the sickly yellow colour obviously) so thumbs up to CCP on that. But given the problems with Iceland's banking sector I can't help wondering whether CCP have hired some bankers into the company - their strategy of catering to new customers desires while ignoring existing customers is exactly how British banks behave in the retail market here in the UK.

I'm somewhat disappointed that CCP has chosen not to reward loyal players that have recently subbed with skill extractors. Having just subbed three accounts I was expecting to receive extractors pro rata for the time they still have to run , but it appears this is not the case, my request was dismissed out of hand.

I like the new Ore-Development-Skin, but i could not find any note about it or the other graphic changes to the Ore-Ships in the patchnote.
Please make it clear for me. Is it a bug or a feature?

New camera feedback:

1) Change the tracking feature to work like old camera. Ie, a) toggle to turn on/off, rather than hold 'c', and b) track ships that are in warp.

2) Do not turn off tactical overlay after each undock and each gate jump. Have it remember the last setting.

Thanks!

For those curious - on SISI, the tracking camera now continues to follow ships when they are on grid and in warp, so their destination can be seen.

Also, the tactical overlay remembers what you've set it to when you undock or jump through a gate.

CCP, I've thought of a 3rd feedback item for the camera:

3) Please allow the zoom on the new camera to go as far out as the old camera. The new Tactical Camera can see much less of the field at once than the Orbit Camera, which can see less of the field at once than the old camera.

Thanks again!

Yes. Open the notification window, click on the gear icon, expand Skill Training, and uncheck Skill Queue Empty.

This, please. For some of us who have older eyes the tactical overlay really helps. Having to turn it on again and again and again when jumping through gates becomes a real chore to simply enjoying the game.

Also, a Thank You for providing the options to disable the constant weaving, bobbing, shaking, and throbbing of the screen every time the ship takes an action. On behalf of about a half-dozen other players that I've talked to who do not wish to experience motion sickness, the ability to disable these features allows us to enjoy the User Interface, and thus, the game.

I see you added a new animation thing to the dscan window when the list of the results gets populated today. Is this intended as a nerf to dscan since it takes longer to use it now?
